    I love Earl Grey too! It’s really smart. 😊

      Just been sent some Earl Grey Tea from Dominant Industry - a glorious tobacco - over-stewed tea colour. Review early next year.

    Another superb pen review.What a lovely pen. Just a note to you. I lent my kindle to my step father 8 weeks ago. He hadn't read any books in recent months the print is to small. I suggested he read my copy of the Last Templar. He loved the kindle and the book. This weekend he was 90. My mother bought him his own kindle and I bought him His own copy of the last templar and the next three in the series. He is very impressed with your writing and murder mystery he enjoys. Thanks again.

    Conway Stewart should allow you to keep it and do a giveaway for the Patreons!

    A lovely pen, Michael. Just a thought. Talking of potentially increasing the value perhaps the eventual owner of pen 65 will be able to state, as used by Michael Jecks. Now there's a unique selling point.

    A beautiful pen, the fine nib seemed to give a lovely definition to the writing. As always thank you.

    Terrific video and what a beautiful pen! Am I right in thinking it looks a lot like an Onoto? I recall Bespoke British Pens used to represent them...
    The other thing worth noting is the price. Although it is not cheap, for those who wish to own it, it is actually quite reasonably priced. Many high end manufacturers would charge somewhere between 30% and 120% more for such a pen. So, if you are looking for an heirloom quality pen to pass on to your kids, this would certainly be a good purchase. So, once again, kudos to Conway Stewart!

      Hi, John, and yes, I think it is very much the same overall dimension as an Onoto. Bespoke own both brands, I think, although I believe they are focusing on Conway Stewart now that they have all the designs etc. I quite agree about the quality of the pens, and especially the idea of passing them on to the family. They are superb pens!

      I'm deeply anti-monarchist, and I wouldn't like Charlie's phizzog on a pen, BUT that is a beautifully designed and made pen. Exquisite.

    Personally I would have chosen Diamine Regency Blue for the ink. It is a great deep blue ink.
    I wonder if Charles III has received this pen?
    The weight of this pen is perfect without posting the cap. It is not overly heavy which as you mentioned is somewhat surprising.
    The nib is responsive which is very nice.
    Do you think there is a coating on the surface to ward off the oxidation process?
    Fabulous review, Michael.
    Oh, the pups are behaving just fine. One wants you to play with the ball. The other is wanting the attention. Cute.

      Thanks, Paul. I quite like Regency, but I'm going through a grim and grey period just now! Maybe next I'll move back to a summery turquoise or Florida Blue! I would hope that the company has at least offered a pen to Charles. After all, as my wife said, he clearly didn't like the one he was given to sign the coronation documents on his big day! I don't think that there is any coating (I may be wrong), but from my experience with my Drake, which I"ve had for twenty years or so, the oxidation is never a problem. I just wipe it on my hand, and the pen's clean and shiny again.

      @@writerlywitterings understandable your dark period. I too have faced such feelings. They are not overwhelming. You have plenty of support from your wife and others (like me).

    The black section was different on the Kings coronation, i think tt was silver too.
    Was that the only difference or was another pen?

    How do you prepare your tea, just straight tea, do you add honey, or sugar? I am a huge coffee drinker, and have started trying to get into tea (not sure if there are any additional health benefits over coffee). Any pointers?

    • @writerlywitterings
      @writerlywitterings  Рік тому +1

      No sweetener, no. I gave them up when I was 9 years old! Just straight tea with a little milk usually. If I'm camping, I'll use Lapsang Souchong and leave the milk out!

    Is this the pen Charles Mountbatten got angry about because it supposedly leaked ink all over his fingers? Ah, no, your pen looks fancier. 😁

      This pen hadn't been designed while Louis was alive, so I don't think so!

      It is widely presumed that the pen Charles got.mad about was a silver Montblanc, that was given to him by his children. If the now-King no longer wants that pen, I will gladly take it off his hands!😂😊😊

    Shouldn’t out of tradition his effigy faced the opposite direction

    • @writerlywitterings
      @writerlywitterings  Рік тому

      Ah, I think you mean, because the Queen used to face right, so should Charles? The actual tradition (for the last 300 years or so) is that it changes each time the monarch changes. Every time the monarch changes, the coins, stamps, etc, all change too. The only time that wasn't so was when the King abdicated before the Second World War. Because he departed so quickly, there had been no coins minted or stamps printed, so it was decided to change over and ignore his brief reign.

      @@writerlywitterings it’s my poor eyesight, I thought they had Charles facing right on the pen cap that’s why I enquired about it. I was aware about the skip in Edward VIII
