Great demo. That Deluxe Reverb is bitching good! The Broadcaster, iconic. What a marvelous sight to behold, even if it is from thousands of miles away. Thanks Emerald City!
at the end of his demo I could swear he made it sound like a Hammond organ.. His vibrato is unreal..So musical. Just a fabulous player.. Guitar isnt too shabby either...thanks for sharing.... shal
Seriously! I am constantly saying "nah, this isn't it" and getting all shitty when I try different amps and guitars. But EVERY TIME I hear a vintage guitar straight into a vintage amp I say "YES!!".
I love it so much, I'm building a clone of this very guitar. I choose to make a tribute as there's no way I could ever afford to even look at this guitar. Heck, a custom shop reissue is still way too much for me. I can put something together, equal in quality, for the price of a classic vibe Squier. Now the amp... that's the real deal and I don't think much can touch it. It's perfect
That’s so beautiful. And in such incredible condition. I’m just wondering why the tweed case is so rare. Weren’t they all tweed back then? Or is it simply unusual to have survived this long?
The bridge is off-center, would it change the historical value to center it? I'm asking just out of curiosity, I'm not a collector at all. How do you balance playability versus collectibility?
The neck may be off alignment, someone mentioned that there was a gap between the neck and the bass side of the neck pocket. It's common, and sometimes all it takes to correct alignment issues, is to hold the body and pull up and sideways on the neck
Yeah, maybe some might say there are better electric guitars made today, but this, a first attempt at an affordable one for the masses, seems to be able to do anything you would need, right out of the starting gate.
I am on the process of building a clone of that very guitar. The broadcaster is completely different than a tele. The neck does have its own profile. I was lucky enough to find people that know more about them than I did. One guy made me a Bakelite pickguard. An other must have was had made pick ups, which are exact copes made with the same materials and wire as the originals. Also a tail piece with a #0018 serial number. I will never have the money to buy an original broadcaster, but I can build one that feels, sounds and looks like the original. All parts except the body is made in the US. The body is the only Fender part and it is made in Mexico. My broadcaster with tweed case will come in at just under $1300.
Sounds like you and the guy who bought it from you have issues. Why did he dump it, send it back to you? And why wouldn't he want to let you have the 'four' original tuners?
I dunno...this collector stuff rubs me the wrong way. Tuners aren't original and it's like the end of the world despite being a better guitar for it. Hold onto the guitar for a few years, sell it for a higher price. This ain't what Leo had in mind. He specifically designed his instruments to have easily replaceable parts and for future generations of the instruments to improve. It's just a bummer to me because I know I'll never be able to actually try one out because of the collector cult that's formed around vintage instruments.
It's sold as a Cult but it's really just old fashioned greed. Buy that instrument, lock it away for 10 years and make even more money . Disturbing how it has become an investment industry without scruples.
@2.09 you can see a massive cap of 3mm between the neck and the body edge @ 2.33 the water slide decal looks too thick under the light r the original owner as you say did not play it for many years why the gear replacement ? Collectors do not play them and move on the fakes something smells hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like he needed the tuners for another guit in his collection. But if one cant find any NOS tuners that would be a pretty big omission for a collector I would think.
I hope it ends up in vault, if it was a "special" it would have been whipped up by a pop star to play. It's only desirable cos of the year but as an instrument it's not worth it. If you I bought it we would probably hate it for fear of it getting hoisted. Its just 2 lumps of old wood screwed to-gether.
Aaron always brings out the best in these guitars and amps.
Well done.

That'll be the Fender hammond monkey paw circuit(kidding) I heard it too at 7.39. He tunes a semi-tone lower to Eflat to give it more growl.
Seriously! I am constantly saying "nah, this isn't it" and getting all shitty when I try different amps and guitars. But EVERY TIME I hear a vintage guitar straight into a vintage amp I say "YES!!".
Sounds like you have very expensive taste ;)

Lulz, I grew up in three-story, five-bedroom house that was less than half the price of that guitar... and I'm not very old. :-)
Had to settle for the 70th anniversary Broadcaster and enjoy the feel and tone of a time long ago.
That bridge pickup sounds heavenly!
Just amazing! Can´t wait to visit the shop in June
It looks practically new-clean I would love to own that and it would be played everyday too.
INCREDIBLE TONE MACHINE GREAT VIDEO GUYS EMERLD CITY ROCKS HARD
Sounds amazing!
Heart . It would literally kill you to buy it.
Man, just beautiful
Top notch guitar. Top notch player.
Totally wanted to watch this hours ago when it posted, couldn't find it when I had time, just watched it. Now I'm curious about the bloopers!
This is the best sounding electric guitar I've ever heard.
I have a 65 deluxe reverb and any guitar I plug in to it sounds awesome. I hear good things about the latest RI one too:) I may have to get one
Good demo of the pickups, rare to se that.
Estamos en presencia de una de las mejores obras humamas de la historia de la mismísima humanidad. Está claro esto?
Just how many gold bars do you need to pay for this beautiful piece of history ??
This guy could make a rubberband stretched across a broom handle sound like gold.
That’s so beautiful. And in such incredible condition. I’m just wondering why the tweed case is so rare. Weren’t they all tweed back then? Or is it simply unusual to have survived this long?
I think that Erin could play for a couple more hours for us kiddies .Thankyou
AAw man... I love that machine.
Hope they get those tuners back....it would be a shame to lose parts like that
Lovely!!
Sounds like an hot biased Deluxe, isn't it? I LOVE it! :D
OMG dude THANK YOU!!!
Up for resale? Still? or Did Kirk Hammet Pick this one up yet?.....
I want a tab for that Riff A(E)ron Ebert? is playing
Please!
Too bad my father did not buy a couple of them back in the day !! Only the rich people can afford them now,
Killer tone!
WOW, that guy can PLAY! Do you still have this??
Good lawd, that tone...
Is it a refin? I’ve never seen a broadcaster without paint pealing off.
The bridge is off-center, would it change the historical value to center it? I'm asking just out of curiosity, I'm not a collector at all. How do you balance playability versus collectibility?
Good question: by buying a reissue from the CS. You get playability for...1/20th of the original's price, without the issues due to age.
The neck may be off alignment, someone mentioned that there was a gap between the neck and the bass side of the neck pocket. It's common, and sometimes all it takes to correct alignment issues, is to hold the body and pull up and sideways on the neck
That's definitely a liver and kidney guitar.

wow
$159,000.00?!!!!!!!!!! (RING! RING! Hello? Fender Custom Shop?...)
mmm, just out of my price range.
greta van fleet hahahah nice
Would be more appropriate for an SG.

what did you use for electronics and pickups?
And what neck brand/profile?
It would be nice to see it and hear it!
Tone for Daze
Was it burned by the riots .
A little bit of Greta Van Fleet played there
😍
If I give ya 159 for that guitar you giving me that Deluxe.

Y'all not heard of Led Zeppelin?
@@Empyrean55 Who..?
Of course it's got Twang!
#Duh
Yet, more 'body' w/that heavy body.
Thanks.
Sounds and looks like a guitar for at least $ 160,000 :)))

robert houle you wouldn’t get it
@@emeraldcityguitars I do get it. Sounds like you're getting it, like he's giving 'it' to you!

Check out ToneTwinsTV for the best vintage guitar and amp content
Why not play clean so the actual sound is there, you can take any cheap guitar and get that sound

No big deal to me . I'm not a collector ,just a player . I like the new custom shop ones myself !!! Much better !

Some collector that doesn’t even play gets it, I’ll bet. What a waste.
As it turns out, it got bought by someone that plays and loves it (me) :) ua-cam.com/video/Teffc6d4FJc/v-deo.html
