Note your comments on safety equipment when using chainsaws, but also make sure you apply the chain brake when putting the saw down. You cannot be too safe with a chainsaw. Keep up the great video content they are FANTASTIC. Also so love your stuff and knowledge on bow use. Great stuff. S.
I love that Lily practices survival tactics and SHTF scenarios BUT ALSO Has a dog that will turn her nose up to raw meat. What a princess! Also, Lily, I bought that Ruixin knife-sharpener you guys were advertising and my kitchenware passed the hair-test for the first time! Thank you so much!
Lily, I'm too big a fan to not worry about your safety; please please please get some chap pants and keep that thumb curled beneath the the handle! Wilderness survival is one thing, but chainsaw wounds in the wilderness is another level. Hate to nag about it, but I'd hate more to see your channel suddenly go dark due to a simple oversight in safety. I've had enough close calls myself and I'm sure there are more to come, and from the bottom of my heart, take care out there! I'm paused at minute marker 2:48 and had to say this.
I was a logger for 25 years. Sthil was my choice for cutting timber back in the day. Although the saws I used were quite a bit larger than the one you have. LOL Love your videos keep up the good work girl.
Fascinating mushroom project. Amy is such a good dog. Can't wait to see more of the shelter next time, and that bone bow project sounds fascinating. Thanks for sharing.
Wunderbar! I am now inspired to attempt mushroom propagation in my own woods. While I have excellent conditions and abundant space, I would always like more to share. Alles Gute!
Lily I love how you camp is really coming along. Also those wild mushrooms that you had found. They really look like they are going to be delicious. I truly wish I could have got to enjoy them with you because I really love to eat alll types of mushrooms. Also I cannot wait until you finish the bow that you are working on. I bet it's going to be awesome. Take care and I cannot wait for your next video . From John
gosh Lilly such a beautiful camp! you work so hard and make beautiful things. i don't eat mushrooms because i am allergic to so many things but it is great to learn about them...just in case!
7:10 Thank you for mentioning that. I was going to scold you, but only because I care ❤ Tree felling and feeding a wood stove are a couple of my hobbies. 7:15 That dinner is making me hungry!
Great looking dog. I don't like being without my 4 legged friend. My dog is getting old so I try not to expect too much out of her. Once she goes I don't know what I'm going to do. I love your camp site. It looks better than most homes I've seen. I can't wait to see how those mushrooms do. Thank you again just for being there.
I can't say I agree with what she's doing it can cause her to get careless thinking that the mushrooms growing in the area are edible because she's the one that put them there. She really needs to make sure that the mushrooms there are the correct ones to eat. You be surprised how much the death cap looks just like regular white mushrooms from the supermarket.
Mushrooms can be cultivated, and grown, yes…though not “artificially”, not possible! It’s a bit tricky, there’s a bit of science behind it, which is why it’s been possible only recently to start growing them…!
@@CuriousOne31 maybe we need to define the word artificially. I think what the original comment meant was you are the one that plants the mushrooms in a specific area. really if you think about it if you have the mycelium or the spores you can grow a mushroom. A buddy of mine has a small business where he sells exotic mushrooms to local restaurants.
@@highlander723 that’s right…defining “artificially” would be the right first step! As far as I know, “artificially” cultivated mushrooms need very specific conditions to be able to grow, so every type of mushroom has their own set of requirements for even existing at all…!
@@CuriousOne31 very true humidity moisture type of feed stock. also certain environmental conditions. there's a reason truffles are still hunted and not just grown on a farm. I still stand by my original comment I just hope she doesn't get too laxed and think all the mushrooms growing around her compound are safe.
A shelter like this is like a project car. Its never done. It can be finished but something can go wrong that has to be repaired. But thats the beauty of it
I just love this camp. The way you keep it updated makes it almost like a home away from home. And I love stihl chainsaws, I actually own 2. Do you have Morel mushrooms there? We get them in early spring here.
Hey Lilly can I drink from a cattle trough? I see solar equipment near the troughs. I’m assuming these are fed by wells or pumps. South Dakota Montana border. I can boil. No chlorine.
Hello Lilly.. So nice to see you active again. I hope you are well. I love foraging for mushrooms it is amazing this time of year. Soon it will be fall and my question is will you be going to your camp then?. Your so lucky to have a forest near to you and the beauty it will show once the leaves on the trees change colour. We have woods near to me where i often walk to but they are not large enough to camp in. I am designing a Micro.camper so once that is ready i hope to go for a long week-end later in the Winter.. Regards Mick from England..x
How do you prevent Water in your shelter from Snow & Rain, also how do you deal with many kinds of wild animals like Snakes, Wolfs, Wild Dogs, even Bears, etc...???
Now that you have a chainsaw, I can think of a project that would make something you find useful. Get a 25mm auger, and a fairly good sized draw knife, and make a shnitzelbank! That way you would have a LOT more control when making bow arms! You could make smooth boards for other purposes, as well. A saw horse would also be a good idea, for your safety. I also think a tape measure would be a good idea! I enjoy learning from you, in your videos, but I just wanted to make some suggestions that you might get use out of. I would be willing to contribute to the purchase of those tools, via Amazo, if you want. I think, come January, I shall need one of your knives!
Our summer birds are all gone now No Robins or geese in the area they have flown SOUTH early this yr, same with bees and butterflies they are all gone and this was in the early part of September looks like a cold snowy winter for all of us !!!
In some years there are a lot of sparassis, in others they are super rare! 2 years ago they were easy to find here in Portugal, last year I didn't see even one.
Hey, I've watched alot of your videos and love them. Thank you so much for sharing. I ordered a recurve bow from Mandarin duck. But I'm looking to learn how to skin and preserve animal hides, do you have any knowledge on this or a good source recommendation?
I think a 'Survival Lilly' autographed series knife would be an outstanding item. You're near 1 million subs so maybe set a goal. I'd quite likely purchase one.
Lilly you're amazing love when you go back to the super shelter but did you have earplugs on when chain sawing and will you do a video on wild game on your property.🤗
Great to see you out in nature again! Lovely video ! Thanks also for the APO hunting knife. I love it, absolutely perfect work tool, even if I do not hunt. APO 1 is a bit big, (I have it too) works well, but is a kind a "medium / large", too big as a knife, but too small for a machette. Then I prefer to use Varusteleka's "Skrama", (Yes, advertising for Finnish product, I live in Finland, But "Skrama" is a super good knife / ax). Many thanks to you for all the great videos and great knives! I was a little hesitant, shall I write to you in English or German. I am a subscriber of both your channels. Greetings ! Hugs to Amy too ... is her name? ... Hugs anyway! 😁
Good video Lily. I have become interested in wild mushrooms. Morel mushrooms and Shaggy manes are delicious my favorites here in NW Montana. Shaggy manes like to grow in "disturbed soil" and we find them along the edge of forest roads. Shaggy manes MUST be eaten the day they are harvested. I love the sautéed in butter. 👍👍 Morels like to grow where the forest has recently burned. Do you have such mushrooms in Austria?

Hi Survival Lilly, That was very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry Lilly, I tried to buy an APO-1 knife, but it says they’re sold out until Jan ☹️🤷♂️
Loving your knowledge of mushrooms,if u ever get a chance try a morel mushroom, they grow in my area I Indiana in America, delicious mushrooms.👍👍

I just love the respect you have for the forest, and for nature ❤️🇺🇸
What respect...she killed a tree to get to a mushroom
@@zactaylor1561 tree was dead , no ?
I love that Lily practices survival tactics and SHTF scenarios
BUT ALSO
Has a dog that will turn her nose up to raw meat.
What a princess!

Oh yeah stihl is the way to go. Ive had 2 one of them was stolen and i had to go get another one they will last forever pretty much.
Great saws! Used them as a firefighter. Very reliable. Start quickly under all conditions.
Dido
Good saws! Almost as good as Husqvarna! I like them both though!
Were you guys using them without the proper PPE as well?
The ones at the base of the pines appears to be Cauliflower mushrooms. Very good edible. taste/consistency like egg noodles. great find!
Fascinating mushroom project. Amy is such a good dog. Can't wait to see more of the shelter next time, and that bone bow project sounds fascinating.
Thanks for sharing.
You've definitely made it your own, I'm a little jealous I don't have a spot like that!!
I made a small one too she inspired me but it was a box built with sticks where a tent fit in.
You are so crafty. Its refreshing to see. Much love and light be well!
Wunderbar! I am now inspired to attempt mushroom propagation in my own woods. While I have excellent conditions and abundant space, I would always like more to share. Alles Gute!
Puppy Amy is just as cute as mommy. Miss Lilly is one amazing woman so smart. Only wish I had money to buy gear but its just not meant to be.
Amazing! This is the most informative food growing video needed. Way to go Lily!
I love your camp! In Australia there aren't too many mushrooms in the wild that you could eat without dying lol... so we leave them alone!
Lilly you are definitely an universal treasure. Love your videos
When the video first started, and I heard that music, I thought you were doing a Collaboration video with Matt from “Off the Ranch”
I love that you put so much work and joy into this work. I have never seen a bushcrafter plant mushrooms 😁🤗

Nice a new lily vid. Lots of love from Dorset in UK
Lily, never give your dog cooked pork bones. They splinter and can cause abcess. Raw is okay
I cant get enough of these videos i am learning so much. Thank you
And it inspires me when I see what you can build with your hands
Absolutely love you, I'm an Alaskan man(born & raised.) Love the bow skills, keep working on the mushrooms. They do wonders that most ignore.
Great find on the califlower mushrooms
Everything is very cool!

YESSSS!! I just got your knife delivered today. Now that's a knife! It's perfect. Thanks so much.
Your awesome, so is that shelter. Thanks for sharing and stay well.
I remember watching you first start that camp. You had less than 50k subs.

Be VERY CAREFUL giving Amy cooked bones. They can splinter and choke her. I lost a dog like that. She died from a cooked rib bone.
I see them Burch mushrooms in upstate NY all over, I use to paint on them. I never knew they were editable , if it's the same type of shroom.
