Someone requested it 8 semitones lower. I thought I should categorize it as baritone key but upon singing it, it seems sounds like it is in usual male key.

I think that the verse is in baritone, but the chorus is high for men.

It's almost the same notes in the verses and the chorus. The highest note is an E4 which is still within a baritone's range. Both the beginning of the verses ("yellow diamonds in the sky") and the chorus ("we found our love in a HOOO-peless place") have this note.
