Since I saw mention of NDS software in the comments: Just be aware that the joyo kanji list changed in 2010. Moved from 1,945 to 2,136. I didn't realize that and ended up hunting down the 196 kanji that were added in 2010. If anyone is studying for the JLPT N1 or the Kanji Kentei level 2, there are 196 kanji that were added in 2010, and 5 that were removed. Doesn't hurt to study the 5 that were removed, but all NDS software is missing those 196 kanji from the level lists (I think it only affects level 2). All 196 kanji were added to JLPT N1 though, so if you are studying for N5-N2, no need worry. I think most of the 3DS software included the 196 in the right lists (Not 100% sure.) Love your videos. Even tho I'm on a hiatus for japanese (I am prioritizing another language at the moment). My comeback to japanese might be sooner than I expected after all these motivating videos

漢検スマート for the switch is also good. It does not have the fun of いちまる and the games, but more questions, and you can also 100% them. You can also take the 漢検 outside of Japan.
I ended up buying this and have been enjoying studying with it. I've been wondering though, is there a catalog that shows kanji you've studied study so far in that level? I know some 3ds games have that so I thought 漢検スマート would as well but I cant find anything. I can't even find anywhere that you can view kanji by kanken level which seems crazy to me. Am I missing something or are those just not there?
I think you putting in you struggling with japanese here and there really helps out more than you know. Seeing that reminded me that learning a new language is a difficult road, and seeing even someone I consider a "master" in japanese struggle here and there is a reminder that "I don't know" or can't figure something out is par for the course.

Cool mnemonic. This is also helpful to note: 右 and 口 both start on the vertical stroke. 左 and 工 both start on the horizontal. Also, both characters alternate between vertical and horizontal on each stroke, so if you do two strokes in the same direction, you know you’ve made a mistake.
that one Prof. guy explaining stuff is actually quite interesting, as he keeps talking about kanji etymology. For example why 道 contains 首 (neck/head) and 辶 (road-and-foot) he explains, that traditional folks believed that demons haunted wild paths, mountains and woods, and as a talisman they were carrying 死んだ人の生首 (freshly severed heads from dead people) in their hands in order to become protected against those evil spirits. For me it's great to know, as a learner also interested in kanji-etymology - I wish more teaching resources would go that way for each joyo-kanji there is, instead of blantly spreading mnemonics they just made up.

I really hope they decide to bring this one to the Switch somehow so I can actually play it without having to get a Japanese 3DS. I know I can emulate or whatever, but I'd rather play this legitimately if I can.
The 3DS is region locked, meaning that only japanese 3DS can play japanese cartridges. To play a japanese game on a EU or US 3DS, the "other means" is the only way

When practicing, is there a way to avoid starting let’s say 読み1 again? When I finish and start practicing again the sentences come in the same order.
