I am open to being wrong on Brock, but as was said in the video about his processing is one of the hardest things for a QB to be good at and he had that early on top of obviously putting the time in. He acts like a high school or college QB putting in time to learn the offense. He also has very elite pocket awareness, and is quick in the pocket, I believe scoring really high in whatever measures that. He’s athletic enough to scramble and run for a first down, he’s shifty, and can fake a defender. His pocket presence is really good, he wants to win and it shows. He stays in there and takes the hit to make the play, and can lead the team. And my favorite thing about him that a lot of ppl miss is ball placement. Ppl dumped on him for some throws but if you watch, he’s typically throwing the ball where his guy has the best chance to catch it. So throwing into double coverage or triple coverage works out at times bc of where he puts it and he’s typically accurate. It made him look lucky or at the whims of his teammates but that’s not the case. It helps, Kyle being his coach helps, but that’s not why he’s having success. Ppl also ignore that he did this in college, as a freshman got a start and never gave it back starting from that moment until he left after his senior year. He was the reason the 49ers beat the Lions or at least the biggest. His arm isn’t the strongest, but it’s gotten stronger and he doesn’t need it to be as strong bc of the other things he does well. As far as the Commanders go, I’m not all that shocked. The only concern I think fans should have is that his start has been so good, it’s a college offense. If that starts to not work, it’s possible he can fall off. Sometimes a QB starts out like this and it doesn’t last longer than the first 8 games, or beyond a season. It looked to have happened a bit with the Cardinals and Kingsbury after awhile. I wasn’t high on Daniel’s either so I’m wondering if the shoe will drop. It’s totally possible it won’t tho, and if that’s the case the Commanders will be in a great position for a long time bc he is playing good football.

People don’t realize that Purdy had the most efficient season ever last year. He shattered the record for ANY/A “adjusted net yards per attempt” which is the best metric we have for efficiency and his QBR was all time great, I believe only Manning 04-06, Brady 07, and Marino 84 had a higher QBR.
Brock also passed Mahomes for the best QB rating over a QB’s first 25 games, and passed Lamar for most games of 130+ passer rating over the first three seasons, and Purdy only played half of his rookie year and year 3 just started.
If you look at the top QBR seasons of all time, Brock’s 2023 season sticks out like a sore thumb as the only one to not win MVP. It’s a crime Dak got more MVP votes over Purdy, and Lamar only won it because of how poor Brock played head to head. Most of that was unlucky bounces though.
I said this last year but Brock and Love are the two best QBs in the NFC. Players like Dak, Hurts, and Goff have some major holes that have either been exposed already or are covered up (example Lions OL covering Goff’s lack of mobility).
All of those QBs are very good players, but Purdy’s ability to process is second to none in the NFL. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, and Stroud are the only QBs definitively I’d take over him right now.

I, too, concede on my Brock Purdy criticism. I never thought he was a bad QB, just a developing QB that i didn’t think had a high ceiling. He’s really efficient regardless of how his team looks. i still believe shannahan helps bring out the best in him.

      Agreed.
      Walsh/Montana
      Belichik/Brady
      Reid/Malhomes
      Shanahan/Elway
      And now
      Shanahan/Purdy
It takes a team and good coaching to be good.

Saying Caleb has been better than Jayden is the craziest take ever for sure.

“Caleb Williams has looked better than JD” is just blatantly untrue. He is, and is going to become really really good. He’s shown some really bright flashes but we can’t ignore the boneheaded decisions and inaccuracies. Jayden has been near perfect in 3 of 4 games, against some good teams. That Bengals game in particular is far ahead of anything Caleb has done (yet) and it’s not even close. Not even comparable right now. End of the season could be a different story though.

Hey people can continue doubting the Vikings and talking about how they’re a glass house and they got no star power but at the end of the day they’re winning games.
Green Bay caught a break with that muffed punt and that interception by their safety was not a completed catch. They did a lot of woulda, coulda, shoulda nonsense after the game and it’s whatever man. Keep talking it’s what those fan bases do best.
