  • Video Description: Exploring Naples on Two Wheels - History, Culture and Gastronomy
Hello everyone! In today's video, we're in Naples, the vibrant capital of pizza, for our last day in the city during the Planeta de Moto Expedition. We'll make the most of it by exploring historical and cultural sites and, of course, tasting the delicious local cuisine. Join us on this fascinating journey!
    #### Castell Dell'Ovo
Our adventure begins at the historic Castell Dell'Ovo. This castle, whose name means "Castle of the Egg", is the oldest in Naples and is located on the small island of Megaride. Legend has it that the Roman poet Virgil hid a magical egg in the foundations of the castle, and the survival of the castle and the city of Naples depended on this egg. The current structure dates back to the 12th century and offers stunning views of the Gulf of Naples.
    #### Galleria Borbonica
Next, we visit the fascinating Galleria Borbonica. This underground tunnel was built in 1853 by order of King Ferdinand II to serve as an escape route in case of revolts. During World War II, it was used as an air raid shelter and military depot. Today, the Galleria Borbonica is a tourist attraction that takes us on a journey through the hidden history of Naples.
    #### Piazza dei Martiri
Our next stop is the elegant Piazza dei Martiri. This square pays homage to the Neapolitan martyrs who died in the struggle for the unification of Italy. The square is surrounded by historic palaces and offers a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the classical architecture.
    #### Amici Miei Restaurant
Time to recharge your batteries! We had lunch at Amici Miei Restaurant, known for its authentic Neapolitan pizza and traditional Italian dishes. This is the perfect place to experience true local cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere.
    #### Umberto I Gallery
After lunch, we head to the Umberto I Gallery. This impressive shopping arcade, built between 1887 and 1890, is a magnificent example of 19th-century architecture. With its domed glass roof and elegant shops, the gallery is a must-see for history and architecture lovers.
    #### Castel Nuovo
Our journey continues at the iconic Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino. This medieval castle, built in 1279, served as a royal residence for several monarchs and today houses the Civic Museum. A visit to the castle offers a fascinating insight into the medieval history of Naples.
    #### Complesso Monumentale di Santa Chiara
We also visit the Complesso Monumentale di Santa Chiara, a religious complex founded in 1310. This site includes a church, a convent and a cloister famous for its beautiful decorative tiles. The complex is an oasis of peace in the heart of Naples and an example of Gothic and Baroque art.
    #### Via San Gregorio Armeno
We strolled along the charming Via San Gregorio Armeno, known for its nativity scene and craft shops. This street is world-famous for its tradition of creating nativity figures, especially during Christmas. It is a great place to buy unique souvenirs and admire the talent of local artisans.
    #### Via Partenope
We ended our day on the picturesque Via Partenope. This coastal avenue offers stunning views of the sea and is perfect for a relaxing stroll. With several restaurants and cafes along the waterfront, it is an ideal place to end our day enjoying the beauty of Naples at sunset.
