hey sorry if my comment i left seems like im attacking ya for attacking my fav game (below) I played so much HZD and lost so much to Deleting materials to pick up more stuff and the stash on this game makes it by far the best game i've ever played but still I love that part about screenshots lol
Right on the money. I'm about 30 hours in. It's a beautiful game but the story is boring, the dialogue is horrendous like amateurs in a play shouting or whispering their lines to an audience, the character models are outright jarring with their eyes zig zagging all over the place, and I'm playing on a ps4 so it's glitchy as hell and I can't drink a cleansing potion because it hard crashes the game, literally. So far I give it a 6.5. The first game was just so much more compelling and better paced. This one I just want to put the main missions on story mode to get them over with already.
As someone yet to get all the question marks in skellige and someone who got every single riddler trophy in every game, when I tell you I got *Flashbacks* 💀
100% accuracy. Skellige’s „?” were the first time I just gave up and stopped carrying about the map. I hope developers will finally notice how bad it is. AC Valhalla is prime example of making game so big it’s annoying and boring.
@@TheSiemek There's nothing inherently wrong with the size of Valhalla's map, and I still take it as an improvement over Odyssey which 1. was MASSIVE (pushing the limits of "okay now this is getting a bit ridiculous" but still not bad on its own) 2. Had seemingly infinite "busywork" which was its real shortcoming imo. Because of that, I actually prefer Valhalla significantly. That said, one of Valhalla's greatest weaknesses for me is their desire to have a fresh episodic sorta story for each new county/region of the map while having quite the inability to actually maintain a compelling series of stories. I think I burned out more than halfway. Anything involving Ceolbert/Ivar and such was fun, as was the early game to be sure. Also early Asgard.
That’s because Matt writes the scripts and he clearly didn’t even finish the game let alone give it the time it deserves. He was too busy choking on Elden Ring’s meat to be bothered.
After watching a friend boy play Elden Ring for a few hours, I gotta say ... no. It's virtually indistinguishable from Dark Souls, which I've already seen way too many times. It's like v1.5 of the same game, a minor version bump to add a few quality-of-life improvements.
No "they actually did what we asked for when reviewing the first one" award? They literally did the BOTW glider, free climbing, and grappling hook they requested.
@@cupajoe640 but they asked for it, explicitly said "hey add this, it would be cool!" The developers listened and diversified the gameplay so much, and they didn't even bother mentioning it
@@FreemanicParacusia that was hilarious! I feel this, I think HZD is basically a bog standard ubisoft collectathon with great art direction and a killer backstory, and they've only got two of those left now...
Y'all don't get the credit you deserve for these creative reviews. The satire, the pop culture references, the humor, the singing, the carefully couched critiques, the editing - I see you! 👀👀
Seriously, so many reviewers on this site just sit in front of the camera and talk. Meanwhile these guys are pumping out parody songs like Weird Al on top of all the masterful editing.
@@Anto99993 you have to customize your HUD. Its towards the bottom if I remember right. It's something like SHOW ALL INTERACTABLES or something to that effect.
I’m sorry but you didn’t do this game justice. The joy of this game is the amazing story as well as the density of side quests in the world that make you want to explore. This is not a game meant to be played quickly
i beat the game on friday, a week after release. put 40 hours into it. i literally made it my full time job to play the game bc i had the entire week off. loved every second of it, i love this series and can't wait for the next one
Dude, I'm at 67 hours and only 37% completed.....Some of the side quests are amazing. I'm not even close to the end, and just saw the Pacific ocean an hour ago.
1:45 lmao that subtle gwent theme and shelby's "oh no" - as if she saw flashbacks of matt spending more time playing a card game in witcher 3 than the actual story
@Mike Strawson It's probably the most approachable game Fromsoftware has made. Regardless of your mechanical gaming abilities, you will definitely be able to beat these games if you tried. The games are challenging. I know the reputation these games have and how some people are scared off of it. The games are challenging but there is always stuff implemented like trying different playstyles, running away from a fight, grinding for a bit to level up and coming back or summoning someone to help you out to make sure anyone can beat the game I hope you give the other games a try too. Enjoy your time in the Lands Between, fellow Tarnished.
With the way the ending was done, we are for sure getting a dlc expansion like the first game. If we don't I would be very surprised. I think we will go to Alva's homeland at some point too.
@@jesquesan that’s some dedication. I’m lucky to have enough free time to put 40 hours into a game. It’s more of a side hobby for me though. Thanks for the recap. I’ll give it some time for patches and maybe they will have a sale
I don’t really understand all the hate for this game on this video? Like I get that’s the style of humor here but basically nothing nice was said about it other than it was beautiful, and even that was said in a back-handed way. It has it’s faults but this is one of the best games I’ve ever played imo, so guess we can disagree on this one lol.
@@lukasclever2709 Idk how you could have actually played the game and still think that afterwards. Some of the most life-filled NPC’s and active environments I’ve seen in this world. Like any game isn’t without its faults so I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it was pretty damn great.
Always appreciate Girlfriend Reviews' willingness to look past the hype and give a thoughtful, thorough, well-written critique of modern gaming in gener-- SQUIRREL!!!
I’m afraid to watch the video because I still haven’t finished the game(I’ve barely started it actually…I still haven’t made it to the barren to get the embassy thing started). But I feel like I already understand this comment. because every time I’m out on a quest/errand/side mission, if I see a squirrel or a raccoon or a jay, and I have to stop and kill it…lol.
Well it’s hard to describe the story without spoiling it. So instead better to lower viewers’ expectations to leave them pleasantly surprised. Or just… less disappointed in some cases.
@@TheJerbol ya I know they really didn’t make this seem like a good worth your time or money, which it 1000% is! But I guess she’s reviewing the game as someone who just watches it lmao, which makes most games look bad
Not gonna lie, it was definitely funny and always of the quality they put out with their other videos... but this game deserved a better review than this. It completely glossed over the combat, which is a huge selling point for this game. It is much harder than HZD but still rewarding and you have a whole slew of tools to engage with the machine and human enemies now. HFW really is an incredible game, buggyness and all.
Fyi, you can turn on instant loot by going into the general settings and selecting custom difficulty, that makes it a simple fast push of the button to grab your loot. always check the settings of a game, they can fix many a thing, can also make interactable objects always show a icon under the accessibility settings
It’s super weird to me how GFR just butchered the sequel, after so much praise for zero dawn, although most of the features they wished into the second instalment actually is included in it … then again I get forbidden West got released into a busy release schedule, and the sequel is indeed rather overwhelming.. more so than the first one.
I am over 60 hours in to this game and I love it so much. "Squirrel" is a million time true, though. Absolutely hilarious! I have totally stopped to take screenshot a lot.
Wow, that map is "chef's kiss*. I understand that to some people might seem frustrating, but personally I find picking up stuff and clearing points on the map really calming and satisfying. I got literally hundreds of cosmetics on AC: Valhalla by checking everything and I didn't look at the inventory once. I just like the process.
I have this odd love/hate relationship w/maps that have a huge number of points to check out. On one hand, it's nice to not have to wander around aimlessly for hours looking for some damn korok seed. On the other, it sucks to have all the cool parts of the map pointed out to you. It's a shame to lose that sense of discovery, as that's what usually makes these open world games memorable for me. I feel a middle ground would be absolutely perfect. Smth like using crafting materials, currency or smth to reveal new POIs. But of course fully understand why you love it. There is a bit of an exhilarating feeling to looking at a giant list and checking things off one by one. And as always the best solution to problems in either direction is accessibility. Just let people play the game the way they'd like to :D
But would you like to watch someone do itttt. I know I can't wait to play horizon goes west. But yeah I can imagine why this video is another sigh darn it horizon why you go this route.
There's a filter on the map, and you can take off all of the icons except settlements you've found, and current main/side quests. Or people who don't like icons could just...not use the map. If aimlessly wandering around to find things is your jam, then having no map would be the logical end point.
I'm glad you love the map because I love it too! Compared to maps in God of War and Death Stranding I think this is the best designed by far! It's really pretty and *it's easy to find your way around* and you can tell where you are.😄
I mean, Horizon: Forbidden West is the big game I've been eagerly waiting for. I barely have any interest in Elden Ring. Horizon represents everything I adore and desire in a vast, immersive, story-driven single-player open-world action/adventure, and I love losing myself in it. I'm sure Elden Ring is cool in its own way.
The story goes in so many different directions? What you talk about in this is only like the first 8 hours or so of a 50 hour, excellent story with tons of great characters and insane twists. It's like talking about RDR2 but only covering the story up until they leave the first campsite
The devs can’t win on this one. Either the world is “empty” or it’s “got too many icons on the map.” This game is as amazing as the first one from a game mechanics perspective and the continuation of the story actually makes sense.
thats why having only a few things marked and the rest hidden that way there are things to do but its not like a checklist. i think they did a great job, just need get rid of some of the icons so it does not feel like a massive checklist.
Except when people complain about "empty" they don't mean "please fill everything with a bunch of equally uninteresting garbage and items that way too long to pick up". They want actual unique, consistently engaging content for the whole experience. Both filler and too little content are bad. This is not a new thing.
are youa dev from ubisoft? the secret is doing neither, fill the world with interesting places and challenges that are worthy to remember and you are good.
nope, you dont need a clutter of icons, look at metal gear solid V or elden ring for maps in open world games, simple and letting players explore whatever they want to do with minimal or no restrictions
Kinda makes me sad that so many people are just saying about this game “eh, but elden ring looks good.” When it’s becoming one of my favourite games ever.
Absolutely agree. Yes, we all have games in our backlog but Horizon is a big title which deserves a full playthrough before moving on to the next game. I bought Elden Ring as well, but haven’t started it yet since I finished Horizon FW just today and I already told myself to finish FW first. Next weekend I’ll get to Elden Ring, maybe they patched the performance by then too since the FPS looks quite rough at the moment
This. I seriously did not understand why people got so hyped about Elden Ring. It's just another Souls game. You'll play it for a month, love it and be done with it. Forbidden West might not be perfect, it has a lot of quirks but it's shaping up to be a great series. And the reviews... Ridiculous. People are up in arms about the issues FW has a launch but the abysmal performance on Elden Ring didn't stop it from receiving a ridiculous 97 on metacritic.
@@sonicadv27 You were either drunk when you commented this or you are just naturally shortsighted. It’s the other way around dude. Horizon is another boring repetitive one and done short Sony game while elden ring is completely open world and gives you a lot of things to discover on your own so I’m pretty sure people are gonna be playing this for a while unlike horizon which people have already dropped for elden ring. Also who are the idiots that liked your erroneous comment?
I love this channel but this review fell for the same trap that all other reviewers did. You guys were so excited and preoccupied with Elden Ring that this review did an injustice to this game. I think this game is flawed but pretty much every aspect from the first game was improved here. The facial animations are insane for an open world game, the climbing is much better, the glider was added, the whole underwater sections are an incredible addition and the story while being more sci-fi than people expected, its still is one of the best I've seen for an open world like this. It really feels like you are trying to nitpick everything, I mean you literally complained about how this game is too beautiful. This game deserves a re-review where you don't rush through the story so you can play Elden Ring.
Now that I've finished the main story for zero dawn I understand the "hol up a minute" aspect of this game because I was running around killing all the robots and every woodland creature and everything else around for the leveling up 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Girlfriendreviews! I had a great idea, that is: a second channel where you could place the livestreams, so people could watch them whenever they want, on twitch they disappear after some time, which is really frustrating sometimes.
I was really excited for this review because my girlfriend and I have been watching you for quite a while and Forbidden West was finally a triple A game she wanted. After watching the review she was sold and immediately started playing and we've been having fun with her being the player and me being the observer for once. Thank you for all the great work you put into this amazing channel and we look forward to all the reviews to come!
“Hi, I’m an asshole. My boyfriend? Also an asshole. We don’t have any respect for the grind of side quests that keep us interested while we stray away from the main story, as in every other RPG! We just want a bouncing ball from start to finish, otherwise, we pull down our infant depends, and shit all over a great game 🤓”
why have any respect for the bland side quests. if it was anything like witcher 3 with side quests I would have agreed with you. especially considering she is talking about from the perspective of a backseat gamer.
I'm still playing through HFW, but I think the dialogue could've been better. There's no question though the graphics and gameplay has improved massively, and I'm thankful for it.
I think the dialogue was much improved but something about the direction taken with it was off. Characters making jokes about how they feel about certain situations but without actually expressing whatever that is. A character will say a character is so annoying she wants to fall asleep but she’s just staring at him for one example. If a character says she’s so bored by another she’s gonna doze off, as an actor or director, maybe actually have the character act like she’s dozing off instead of just saying it with the expression of a mannequin.
@@OuttaBattery So if somebody tells you in real life that someone is so boring that they want to fall asleep, you actually expect the person to act like he/she is faling asleep? The voice acting, body language and facial expression is actually very good for a video game. Not many games have that. Compare it to the zombies in Ghost of Tsushima for example. Everybody (including the main character) feels lifeless and dull. The problem with Horizon is that the facial expression and body movement isn't always flawless. Weird stuff will immediately stick out like a sore thumb and it will feel off. There was much more weirdness going on in Zero Dawn and I clearly can see that they stepped up their game here.
Yeah! Some of the dialog is kind of cringe and although they made a couple of improvements on Aloy's character, I still think she is terribly bossy and rude and unlikable.
Maybe my expectations were too high on this one but I feel let down with this review. There was so much more to this game then was said. The game was amazing with one of the best worlds to explore in a game since the witcher 3.
Are they supposed to lie and say they love when a game when they really don’t? If she didn’t have much to say about the game than that speaks for itself, doesn’t it?
@@pievancl5457 No. It is perfectly ok to not like a game and adressing it's flaws. But making mistakes about the story and openly admitting you were rushing it while in the mean time not meeting your normal standards is the point some of us were making. Your question can be turned around very easy: Are we supposed not to say we feel a bit let down if we do? Sure, we can shut up but then we never give them a chance to improve themself.
@TanjiYour comment is so damn confusing considering this game has improved upon every single aspect from the 1st one, yet you still prefer the 1st one for some reason even though it has way more flaws compared to this one. Whatever helps you sleep at night I guess
@Tanji I would love to disect all your unnecessary complaints, but seeing as so many of your "critiques" are so very subjective with little to no arguments backing them up, it's honestly just a waste of time. Every single reviewer I've watched so far, whether they liked the game or not, have all stated one common point, that literally everything here is improved from the 1st game, so idk how you can say the things that you just did. I don't wanna insult your English, but all the points you bring up are kinda baseless. You're just saying things without giving any fair arguments or talking points for them. Again, you're allowed to dislike the game, but aleast give some fair criticisms my man
"Somehow Palpatine returned" is the worst line in cinema history. I'm convinced of it. All the actors, camera crew, make up artists and whoever else was in the room (Except Abrams) when they shot that scene must've realised in that moment what an absolute joke that trilogy really was. What a line lol.
I bet if they made a negative review of something like Elden ring, or whatever game you dislike, you’d be all over it agreeing with them. You only feel this way because you love horizon.
This felt like a low effort, rushed video just to get this out of the way so you could tackle Elden Ring. But I guess that’s more of a commentary on consuming video games now. Rush through a great game just so we can play the next big one on release.
@@brianm2242 Mr Davis might elaborate but basically if you like story driven games, Guardians is really well written and fun. It's also linear missions not open world. I'm not a superhero genre guy but I played 90% of that with a big grin on my face and the soundtrack packed with 80s gold. In contrast I'm enjoying horizon but I'm getting side mission fatigue and am literally the man looking over shoulder meme wanting to play Elden Ring but not about to throw away the £70 I spent of Horizon
@@richardbradley7306 that makes zero sense. You’re wasting it by not enjoying it. If you can’t help but feel it’s a chore mostly because you wanna play elden ring instead, put this game on hold. Then you can come back to it when you can appreciate it as the superior game it is.
I just LOVE horizon forbidden west. They improved every single thing from the first game that players didn’t like and just made it so much better. Yes, the story isn’t as mesmerizing as the first one, but the game otherwise is just so GOOD. I even put off playing elden ring until I finished horizon.
I was glad they at least set it up in the previous one so they have some story in mind. Unlike Rise of Skywalker where they basically said "Oh! Emperor Palpatine is back!"
The robot dinosaurs don’t eat human flesh. The Faro bots do. The robot dinosaurs are beneficial and help re-terraform the earth. This is like, a really important plot point in the first game and the series as a whole.
This game is truly amazing, surprised her negative attitude towards the game. Normally enjoy the reviews here but felt like from the get go Shelby had some sort of vendetta against the game.
not everything is a personal antipathy, objectively the game is good but nothing to stand out (apart from the graphics), a lot of games did most aspects better already.

That Jimmy Neutron reference was such a deep cut. Like, did he just happen to be watching a 20 year old cartoon recently? Or is that just an insane memory he drew from?
@@AConquerorsVendetta same, but then there's needing a specific one to highlight a joke in your UA-cam video, and repeating that about 15-20 times for each video, coming up with new references every time.
@@egomania2792 at least I thought so. There’s tons of things you can change in the settings. Including using the controllers gyro in it so you aim based on the movement of the controller.
I've been having a blast playing this. I was also afraid of starting Elden Ring without finishing this one, which I couldn't do, but then I actually played Elden Ring for a couple of hours, saw how the game runs not very well at all, and immediately went back to Horizon with no regrets. Elden Ring can wait now.
I absolutely LOVE the editing of your videos. Was that Gwent music on the minigame? Your videos have more references than Ready Payer One (and unlike that movie, they're actually solid in their own way).
The "Somehow Palpatine/Hades returned" bit was not fair imho. Hades not being defeated was set up in the first game, in the mid-(or whatever)-credits scene. They didn't pull it out of their ass for the second game. Looting: Oh yeah, also very disappointed there. After GoT I really hoped future games would implement looting like GoT. But no, it's back to waiting for every damn thing, and considering how much stuff you have to gather in Forbidden West ... yeah, not great.
@@stnrodriguez and doing it as a job appears to be taking something away from the experience. She even said they had to rush through the story to be ready to play Elden Ring…
@@edinalewis4704 it’s not their fault that horizon launched a week before one of the most anticipated games (for a lot of us)..clearly horizon didn’t hook either of them enough to break through their hype. I just think it was foolish of Sony to not delay HFW for another month- ER has won most anticipated game award 2 years in a row. It was clear whatever released around it was going to get buried.
this was a very fun and creative video as always ! however i'm not gonna lie, it didn't feel like an actual review of what it's like to watch someone play horizon but more a review of what it's like to watch someone who plays an open world game. which is 100% fine but it feels kind of weird that every open world game gets a "hey side quests and collectibles get tiring" mention in their respective reviews but almost 80% of this video is about this... even if you don't like a game no problem but when the only critique is "the way the player plays isn't fun to watch" and "we didn't remember the ending of the first game" with barely any notes on the good or bad points of the actual game, well the video ends up feeling sort of empty... even more so when almost 1/3 of the video is an add. which isn't an issue at all (i'm very happy that you're getting paid ! good for you !) but such a short time on such a big game that is also a sequel to a game that you reviewed immensely well felt sort of lackluster... i also get that like many gamers you were just waiting on elden ring but then it would feel more right if there was simply no review of the poor game that was released just before the most expected game of the beginning of 2022. this was still very fun and enjoyable ! have a good day and a good week !
You can actually turn off the pick up animation for things that don't require holding. Though wish you could change that too but no longer are you needed to go through tiring animations to pick up wood and health berries. Just an FYI!
Forbidden West just keeps blowing my mind and holding my attention. Absolutely loving it. Elden Ring... Is a real bummer. Not enjoying it and very unimpressed.
To be fair I have never gotten into appeal of Souls games. But I also feel this way and I feel like I'm going insane that so many people are calling Horizon mediocre and crappy story and retreateding the old game and in the same breath bowing at the feet of Elden Ring, which to my eye has absolutely no real main story beyond the background lore, a half baked open world design that has zero guidance for the character in where to go and what to do and hides it all in the gusie of "this game is hard", and mechanics that seem to be a constant retread from the past 3 souls games with some minor tweaks.
Sucks when I see people who can’t click with Elden ring and give up before getting it.. it’s truly a masterpiece. The opening area is only about 10% of the game and is essentially a giant tutorial zone, so most of the magic of the game won’t shine until you progress through castle stormveil. One of the only games that has not only met my hype, but exceeded it.
@@pievancl5457 I got a good bit further than that and never really had any fun or felt impressed. Just not remotely for me. I'm having trouble discerning how it's anything more than mediocre and dated, aside from some cool enemy designs. I'm not huge on FromSoft, but I'd rank ER pretty low in the From catalogue. As far as their contemporary games go, Bloodborne is my fave, followed by Sekiro.
Watching this being a PC gamer and still playing through Eldin Ring, i just never want to play another open world game with a map FILLED with useless icons again.
Your first video made me want to play HZD and I loved it - thanks!. And thankfully I started playing Horizon Forbidden West before watching this video otherwise I might have skipped it. Definitely as good if not better than Horizon Zero Dawn.
Feel like they were way to harsh on the game, loved every second of it, generally I don’t watch their stuff until I finish a game now a days because recently their taste hasn’t aligned with mine, which is fine I still enjoy the content and comedy of the vids
This is the funniest review you’ve done in a while, I may not agree with all your criticisms of the game, but man are you entertaining. The song at the beginning is hilarious. Thanks for a good laugh.
Yeah there was a TON of great things in this game that they couls have even given a passing nod towards like the animation, characters, voice acting, Ashly Burch in general, improved side missions etc. They clearly only cared about elden ring and this review felt pretty shoehorned in
@0:54 Coffee sprayed all over monitor! Not just saying that for effect, it really happened. All up my nose from trying to stifle it, etc. HAHAHAHAHAHA!
god. damn. Your goofy parody songs are the best thing on youtube. *chefs kiss* keep bringing this wonderful perspective! from this goofy couch gaming couple to yours, we love your videos so damn much.
I hope I won't be chalked up as bad faith critique. But I always felt like GR pretends to be a comedic commentator while intelligently and humorously sneaks in so much thoughtful critique without us noticing. But this time it feels like she hyper fixated on the stupid amount of chores (valid) and didn't include a lot of other problematic or awesome aspects of the game. So it's not as info-dense as I expected. In comparison, in the HZD review she had so many more comments about the game. So the comedy-information ratio is a lot more skewed to comedy than I am used to. That's just my opinion. I just want to hear more of their honest and no-filter opinions perfectly packaged in punchlines and tight editing.
@@danieljohnson4530 then why even bother. I was WAITING for this game and their review so much and this was a slap in the face. Postponing this review would have been easy but they chose to butcher it instead
I usually love the videos but your explanation of the story is all wrong. This story has nothing to do with hades after the first area in the game. It moves forward very quickly from there. I understand that these reviews are for comedy but the comparison you made to rise of skywalker was silly. Guerilla put a lot of work into the story and it shows.
Loved the game. Will write my own review about it next week. One hundred hours of joy (and frustration sometimes too) I have some reservations about it and critique too, but overall...it was a pleasant and positive experience.

Right on the money. I'm about 30 hours in. It is uncanny how Matt's experience mirrors mine, right down to rushing to complete the damn game before Elden Ring.
I didn’t even bother tbh. I decided to just get Elden Ring and wait to get Horizon until it goes on sale like 6-12 months from now.

The games are challenging. I know the reputation these games have and how some people are scared off of it.
Where?!
They added that in a patch, probably after they recorded the video.
Yeah, I got hundreds of cosmetics in Valhalla too but not once did I change anything once I had a complete gear set.
I was disappointed to not hear “Hole up a minute” at all in this review. Besides that it was very entertaining.
She didn't say the thing.
It's a must 😂😂
Exactly. This game is the definition of holup a minute.
The moment Skellig was mentioned I expected the same. Luckily this channel is more creative ;)
They’ve moved away from the catch phrase, they consider it a cheap joke or the easy way.
The story goes in so many different directions? What you talk about in this is only like the first 8 hours or so of a 50 hour, excellent story with tons of great characters and insane twists. It's like talking about RDR2 but only covering the story up until they leave the first campsite
This. FW feels like chapter 2, continuing right from where the first game left of, continuing and building. DLC is instant purchase.
I feel that, happy for people excited for elden ring, I hope they love it, but it sucks that so many are over looking horizon because of it.
People are looking pass this game because there is not much that’s new about it and it flopped immediately.
Seriously though, if Ghosts of Tsushima and Witcher 3 had a baby-and that baby was gorgeous-it would be Forbidden West.
Now that I've finished the main story for zero dawn I understand the "hol up a minute" aspect of this game because I was running around killing all the robots and every woodland creature and everything else around for the leveling up 🤣🤣🤣
Huge Horizon fan but this video just made me think "I wish more people talked about Tsushima"

The companion discussions are funny. Like the discussion about pizza, erend listening to music. Etc
The only problem I have with the dialogue is that Aloy kinda mumble talks.
Yeah! Some of the dialog is kind of cringe and although they made a couple of improvements on Aloy's character, I still think she is terribly bossy and rude and unlikable.
Currently side quest obsessed, nowhere near finishing the story but this is very well written and absolutely hilarious.
Slipping in the Witcher 3 Velen music during the question mark/points of interest-bit was low key genious.
wait, so they made an entire video basically based on the fact that they missed the end credits scene from Zero Dawn?...
Maybe my expectations were too high on this one but I feel let down with this review. There was so much more to this game then was said. The game was amazing with one of the best worlds to explore in a game since the witcher 3.
Just 4 and a half minute before the sponsor takes over and a looong outro. Was hoping for more, it is a let down compared to what they used to do.

"Somehow Palpatine returned" is the worst line in cinema history. I'm convinced of it. All the actors, camera crew, make up artists and whoever else was in the room (Except Abrams) when they shot that scene must've realised in that moment what an absolute joke that trilogy really was. this was a very fun and creative video as always !
however i'm not gonna lie, it didn't feel like an actual review of what it's like to watch someone play horizon but more a review of what it's like to watch someone who plays an open world game. which is 100% fine but it feels kind of weird that every open world game gets a "hey side quests and collectibles get tiring" mention in their respective reviews but almost 80% of this video is about this...
even if you don't like a game no problem but when the only critique is "the way the player plays isn't fun to watch" and "we didn't remember the ending of the first game" with barely any notes on the good or bad points of the actual game, well the video ends up feeling sort of empty... even more so when almost 1/3 of the video is an add. which isn't an issue at all (i'm very happy that you're getting paid ! good for you !) but such a short time on such a big game that is also a sequel to a game that you reviewed immensely well felt sort of lackluster...
i also get that like many gamers you were just waiting on elden ring but then it would feel more right if there was simply no review of the poor game that was released just before the most expected game of the beginning of 2022.

I completely relate to the “darn it, I’ll just kill every animal I see and hope I get some parts I’ll eventually need” mentality lol
This is the funniest review you’ve done in a while, I may not agree with all your criticisms of the game, but man are you entertaining. The song at the beginning is hilarious. Thanks for a good laugh.
On what you disagree?
you don’t always need to say that you normally dislike something before complimenting it, it doesn’t help anyone
Your Beverly Hillbillies parody was AMAZING
This game deserved so much more from you lot. They literally improved on everything. And also critiquing Hades being in the story was a bit weird.
Think my first GF Review video was Zero Dawn. Love how far you two have come since then.
god. damn. Your goofy parody songs are the best thing on youtube. *chefs kiss* keep bringing this wonderful perspective! from this goofy couch gaming couple to yours, we love your videos so damn much.
I love how we could hear Shelby being so amused after her wonderful song to segue into the sponsor.
I don't know where that grandpa clip is from, but it killed me! Always impressed with your ability to find the perfect pop culture clips
The girl from Fortnite has her own game now? Nice!
Your reviews are so funny and unique ! I can’t get enough of it 😂
“Riddler trophies this side of skelige” that might be my favorite thing you guys have ever said
The difference with how the plot was set up here and in Rise of Skywalker is that this had been established in the previous game and it's not a retcon
The moment you said Magic-The-Gathering-checkers-the-dice-game, I'm sold! XD
I was waiting and waiting on this, I was for sure you would mention how you asked for the glider in the sequel and you got it!!!! What happened!!??
They barely paid attention to the game at all and they rushed this video to play elden ring.
@@sarasthoughts honestly, I can’t blame em, I dropped it have been stuck on Elden Ring…
@@danieljohnson4530 then why even bother. I was WAITING for this game and their review so much and this was a slap in the face. Postponing this review would have been easy but they chose to butcher it instead
I got the Beverly HIllbillies reference! I love how you manage to sneak in a song in all the episodes!
I love the little giggle after the song, lol. Never thought I'd hear a Beverly Hillbillies cover using Horizon references. Noice.
Loved the game. Will write my own review about it next week. One hundred hours of joy (and frustration sometimes too) I have some reservations about it and critique too, but overall...it was a pleasant and positive experience.
