Bobby Hundreds and Rawkus Records co-founder Jarret Myer discuss the history of the iconic independent hip-hop imprint that housed groundbreaking acts like Company Flow, Pharoahe Monch, and Black Star. Rawkus truly propelled the sounds of the underground into the mainstream, and introduced classic albums like Black on Both Sides and enduring hip-hop hits like “Simon Says” to the world.
The Hundreds has collaborated with many brands through the years, but this latest collaboration with Rawkus Records was a natural fit, a way for Bobby to link up with the hip-hop record label that carved out their own niche thanks to their lyricism, street consciousness, and most importantly, their defiant independence.

Some of the best albums came out during this era period. Rawkus really did so much for the culture though!

By the time Lyricist Lounge 2 or Soundbombing 3 was out you knew it was over… they must have run out of the seed cash at that point… for a label that practically defined themselves as underground that was a huge mistake although I guess they just never made money anyway starting around the time Napster came out meant certain doom

I hate they didnt clear the Godzilla sample properly. That hurt Internal Affairs so much and it's a classic. Simon Sez still tears a club up
