A More Musical Way To Play Your Scales - Part Two

- A simple way to improve your musicianship with a fundamental building block: scales, but played in intervals.
In this video I play through Bb Major using the intervals of 5th and 6ths. Intervals are the distance between notes. I was given this game by my teacher, Eric Hofbauer (link below) and I feel like it exposed a big gap in my playing.
I'm working to close that gap now and hopefully helping you avoid my oversight. And you can see many of my oversights in this video, including where I very clearly say and play "C to Ab" instead of "C to A" on the lower octave. But then I say and play "C to A" on the higher octave. And I do this repeatedly. 🙃
The lesson: we all make mistakes. Could I have redone the video? Yes. But in the spirit of imperfection, I decided not to.
I appreciate your support, enthusiasm and understanding.
Go practice!

Thanks for sharing this, Amy. I really like the drum track app you're using. It's so much more interesting than using a metronome. Also, as you pointed out in your commentary, leaving the mistakes in the video is priceless. Everyone makes mistakes and we all learn from them.
Thanks, Fred! Drum Genius is worth the $8.49 it costs to get all 500 (!!!) loops. It makes practicing way more fun. I can’t recommend it enough.
And I’m glad you appreciate my errors. If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not learning.
