- An Emulsion PCR, is a technique that is widely used for whole genome sequencing. This is actually the first step for whole genome sequencing. In an emulsion PCR, the DNA fragment is amplified on a bead that has PCR primer. This amplification is carried out in an emulsion, where the water droplets are surrounded by oil.
