    I absolutely love the TRD Pro. I bought a 2021 TRD Pro in lunar rock and fell in love with the car, took it Bolivia where I drive it now and it is just an amazing car. Just put an order for the 2023 solar octane and after using it for a time in the USA , I will export it to Bolivia in 2024. Totally agree with your views

    The problem with the 4runner isn't necessary the dated and reliable hardware. It's the fact they want 70k for it. There is virtually no reason to buy a new one.

      That is dealer mark up, most expensive msrp is around 55k, starts around 40k. I would say the opposite, they hold value so well the savings buying used doesn't make it worth it.

    You mentioned the "sport" drive mode? Is that specific to the TRD Pro? What are the advantages to it and how to you use it? I enjoy your past reviews of the 4Runner and I wasn't disappointed with your thoughts on the 2023 model!! Yes, it's old and out dated BUT that's the beauty of the 4Runner especially when it last for as long as it does.

    4Runner reviews crack me up sometimes. Every reviewer, understandably, will mention how it’s interior is dated and doesn’t have the bells and whistles etc but will then go down the line and list everything it does have and quickly you realize nobody literally needs anything more than what’s offered in this package for a vehicle.

    • @BrianMakse

    • @sinan_3384
      @sinan_3384 Рік тому +2

      @@BrianMakse less maybe, what more do most people actually *need*? Like I mean NEED, not some niche thing like a wireless charge pad.
      Just to clarify, I am referring to what’s offered on the interior mostly. I understand there are things overall on the vehicle that can be improved on like fuel economy and power train. But when you go down the line of interior needs, at least for the TRD pro you have heated seats, steering wheel, Apple car play/android auto, auto headlights, auto high beams, 8 inch touch display, 360° cam, park assist, lane assist, radar cruise control, all the other Toyota safety sense features. On the limited trims you can add memory seats and ventilated seats. Again pretty much everything most consumers would find the most useful.

    Nice review. Two questions as I'm considering a 2024 TRD Pro 4Runner. I currently have a 2021 F-150 xlt with the 2.7 Ecoboost. I like the truck but i have always wanted a 4Runner for some reason so I figured now or never for a new one. Do you think I'll regret going from the F-150 to the 4 Runner, aside from not having a truck bed?
    second question is how bad does the TRD exhaust drone? is it just occasionally annoying or consistently a pain in the backside? thank you

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 місяців тому

      Excellent questions. The biggest difference you’ll find is overall refinement and the F150 is successful because it’s so well resolved. The 4Runner now feels like it’s from a different era, the days when vehicles were made to last a million years.
      While it’s massive fun for me to drive a 4Runner TRD Pro for one week out of the year, the drone from that exhaust would drive me nuts every day, especially under light load driving up a slight grade.
      Regardless, the 4Runner is so unique and full of character that it’s worth the price of admission.
      Keep me posted.

      Not sure I’ll make the purchase, we will see, I do like the F-150 for its ride, comfort and I’m getting 20 mpg consistently. The thing is I can always get an F-150, can’t always get this version of the 4Runner. Tough decision

    How did the Fox Shocks ride around town for daily driving? Comfy, stiff, too much body roll?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  Рік тому +1

      Ride quality is determined by a number of factors including the tires, springs, and dampers, and all of those are unique to the TRD Pro relative to other 4Runners. Already tested the new Tacoma TRD Pro and that drivetrain solves all of the problems so much so that if it were a presidential candidate it’d fix all that ails America.

    I have a hard time watching this because he can't seem to keep his hands on the steering wheel. I find that distracting. The gestures don't add to the presentation.

    I’d pay extra to NOT get an orange vehicle.
    Cars and trucks like these, will become more and more desirable, as the landscape moves more towards EVs.

      Black looks great but really hard to maintain, even being careful you'll get spiderwebs everywhere.

      @@romererunamerika9437 I agree, I have a 2021, I went grey just to be able to clean up and hide the dings a little better. I love how black cars look, all of them were before my 4runner

      @@jsnow6925 any color is cool on this vehicle/. grey is cool too. yeah black looks great when clean with tinted windows. I got an incredible deal on mine with the black from an officers wife that never saw dirt and 18k miles for 32k. So went for it. I have never looked back. Great vehicle for off-roading. Take care!
