at first i was pretty bitter when linoy won the gold because i'm rooting for the averinas but after watching and watching their olympic performance, it is true that the scoring is not fair but still linoy performed better than dina at other operators...dina was a little bit messy at Olympic...but she proved herself at kitakyushu that she deserves to win that gold
Halkina's performance is soooo refreshing. She's so great. It is a given fact that Dina Averina always amazes me, but damn Halkina is giving me the chills. She's that good
I feel like what these girls do is much more impressive than regular tumbling gymnastics. It's prettier for the eyes, rhythm is important and just looks like it's super hard to pull off on top of everything.

Overall I think Arina had the better performance (by a hair), but if you compare their mistakes, Dina's recovery was much better; Arina's flow stuttered, whereas Dina kept going. Still, a marvellous performance by both of them.

But Dina is definitely much more adept with whatever apparatus that she is handling. That is what makes her win more championships. The twins have an older sister, Polina, who is, understandably, relatively unknown, compared to the twins. Makes you wonder if she is able to handle the enormous fame of Dina and Arina. Soldatova could've easily grabbed the gold here, had her ribbon routine not gone awry. It's one of the best routines I've seen if pulled off (see her qualification performance - it was stunning). Bad luck...

What I've understood about rythmic gymnastics so far: girls dancing amazingly, and at the end they play the Russian anthem 😂
