Legend! Lol at the time of reading ur comment, I was at the part where hoshi said there is so much to explain, it can’t be written dow. Again ur a legend!
Outstanding video. Getting this game in a couple weeks and if my videos come out even half as good as yours I'll consider them a success. Keep it up man. Definitely earned a subscriber today. Hope you have more out soon.
Finally a video that actually works! OMG I was so tired of following guides and the car still had that hell understeering, and now I'm finally able to make it better, even "remove" understeering completely! thank you for the formulas and also for the info, awesome video
I just began to enjoy Forza Horizon 3. Yes I know I'm very late to the game, but enjoyed your video, it gave me a solid base line so that I can begin to "fine tune" my cars. I have found subtle differences, due to my abilities and driving style but now that you have provided me with a great starting point my gaming experience has been enhanced Thanks
I wish you made more videos! You do a lot of good work! Straight to the point, no over bearing music and floods of information, and it seems like you're well versed in these situations. This is the reason you're top of the search when I try to tune my car
AMAZING VIDEO the diagrams you used really helped me not just know how to tune, but helped me understand how it worked and what was happening, cant thank you enough for being the only helpful video on tuning ive found!!!!
Thanks so much for this! I've never played a Forza game before and had no idea where to even begin with the tuning. With your help I don't feel so lost now.
Thank you so much. No matter how old the video still very useful! As someone who can't learn through reading effectively this helped me get the full experience out of all of my favorite vehicles
You don't have to thank us for watching the video. Actually, watchers have to do so. You did very perfect explanation for both game and real life driving. I really appreciate your efforts, Dear. I will keep using this video as a reference along my drifting mods. Regards
GREAT ADVICE!! If someone needs to learn to tune I'd recommend you! I took your advice, created my own tune, tested it against a generator tune and mine was faster. You definitely got my sub!
This is pretty good man. Your informations is spot on to what everything is and does. ALOT of people overlook tuning and just stick to whatever that car comes with.
Thanks so much for this video man! You obviously put in a lot of effort and I haven't been able to find anyone else that did such an easy to understand but in depth guide for something I was struggling with. Thanks again, keep it up!
My dude really appreciate this video man, just now watching but definitely helped me to understand a whole lot more on tuning and thanks to that I’ve been able to cut lap times and up difficulty
I’m one of those people who know enough about tuning to get by on their own, but I know I could definitely learn more, this helped a good amount. I’ve got every single car that exists in FH3 and a few of the same cars, but I have a problem with a certain group of them: Any car that has slicks on it! Either it’s Turn 10 not making them grippy enough (especially in the front, or I just have more to learn. I’ve only gotten the Bentley Continental GT3 and the BMW Z4 GTE to respond well with slicks. Anything else seems to be a tuning nightmare.
OKAY I figured out what this guy is saying for dampening. You take the max setting possible which is 20 if you slide the slider alll the way to the right. And the lowest setting is 3 which you will see if you turn it all the way to left. Take 20 minus 3 which is 17, then take 17 and multiply it by you FRONT displacement (MY GTR is 55%) so 17x.55 which equals 9.35 THEN add the minimum setting like he says which is 3... My total now for my front 12.35 BAM thats my front rebound stiffness. For the rear you will take the difference of your front displacement and multiply that by 17. Since my front displacement is 55% that means my rear is 45% because those numbers add up to 100%. 17 x .45 = 7.65, dont forget to add that minimum number to this which happens to be 3. My rear rebound stiffness is now 10.65.
@@mattgrandy9281 because he didn't say why/where he got the 49% he just kinda said it. Yeah it's simple math but sometimes it can be confusing specifically when you have no fucking clue how all this works
Ive looked through so many videos. This one really, really helped. Im in the top 1% of every race, but this is going to help me step up my game so much. THANK YOU!
This was really helpful and helped me understand more about tuning different parts of the car. I've always wanted to learn how to tune but i didn't understand most of it and didn't know where to start.
Man this is an outstanding video!!!!! I have been playing Forza for over 10-years and I have watched hours and hours of youtube videos on tuning and this is by far the #1 tuning video is have seen. Now I have one requrest could you make a video on FINE tuning for Spring, Dampening, Roll bars and alighment.
two points I can add, downforce: it can be easier to think about it this way, front downforce can be thought of as turning ablilty, while rear downforce can be thought of as stability, second, I personally use and recommend the OPPOSITE of the weight distribution anti-roll bars, if the vehicle is front heavy, for example, the front anti-roll bar will be softer than the rear, just what I found works.
this video is amazing! Your formula really works, at least for me, I just need some fine adjustments after that and it's perfect. Thank you man! Keep it up! Cheers
Great video mate! Very concise and a great help to understanding the tuning basics more. Made it very enjoyable to learn tuning whereas over years and years of playing racing games I've only ever focused on race craft. Which is something you can't always use to compensate when it comes to some of the ridiculous and fun things you can do to your cars in Forza. Subscribed to make sure I catch any videos you decide to put out no matter what they are! ☺️
@HokoHoshi I just want you to know that I still to this day use this to tune all of my cars on every Forza that has released since this video. And I still cannot find a better tuning video. I know its 6 years later 😂 but Thank You.
Amazing video been playing this game for 2 years and I just learned so much more and really put a picture to the settings if that makes sense lol thank you..
Don't forget to mention, that for the braking bias its reversed for some reason in this game, unless they patched it and I didn't know. Anyhow, if you want more rear bias, Front is actually rear and vice versa
So before this video I was trying to do a race with no traction control or stability control, which I play on always now for more cr ( I get 85% Cr bonus ) and I was stuck on a race for an hour, after this video I did some tuning from the videos advice and I won first place the first try, thank you so much
IF YOU ARE MAKING A HILLCLIMB/GRIP TUNE FOR FH4 WITH 1000+HP READ THIS: What i find helps is: Differential Centre Balance set to 30-40% Brake Pressure >150% Tyre Pressure
When you're fine tuning, how do you know when to switch to a different setting? Like if for example you're fixing understeer, how do you know when to move on from softening the anti roll bars and onto softening the springs? Great video btw
Notes I made from the video, thought i'd share.
[[Formula for Anti-Roll Bars, Springs & Damping]]
(max-min) * front/rear weight% + min = setting
[[Tires]]
-highest without too much wheel spin for tarmac
-lower for dirt/cross-country
[[Alignment]]
-negative can increase corner ability but too much will decrease stability while too little can be nominal
-toe out front and toe in rear just small amounts can increase cornering
-too much toe in either direction can cause instability and drag
-higher caster can increase straight line stability and increase camber in the corners
-too much caster will decrease stability in corners
[Ride Height]
-want as low as possible for driven terrain
-tarmac 1-3 ticks above minimum
-dirt/cross country quite a bit higher
[[Aero]]
-too much front will cause straight line instability
-max rear to start and adjust from there
[[Brake]]
-do not want back tires locking before front, can cause spin out
-do not need to adjust too much
[[Differential]]
-rear higher acceleration = more power out of corner at cost of more understeer
-rear 50-80%
-front 15-40%
-center generally better to have more oversteer (power to rear)
[[Fine-tuning]]
[Problem: Understeer]
-soften front anti roll bars
-soften front springs
-increase power to rear (AWD)
-increase front downforce
-increase front bump stiffness
-lower rebound stiffness
-lower front diff lock (in FWD and AWD)
[Problem: Oversteer]
-decrease rear roll stiffness
-decrease rear camber
-increase rear downforce
-increase rear toe-in
-decrease rear rebound stiffness
[Problem: Unstable at Speed]
-increase rear downforce
-decrease front downforce
-soften front suspension
-decrease front toe-out
[Problem: Unresponsive]
-adjust overall downforce (too much or too little)
-increase shock stiffness
-increase tire pressure
-increase anti-roll bar stiffness
-see "Problem: Understeer"
Thanks
you're the MVP !
What
Thanks

HokiHoshi One of the best videos for racing game!!!!well done mate!!!!
one of the best Games out there, so much replay value and the Hot wheels DLC is awesome.
great video. been playing horizon 2 and 3 since it was released, til recently only thing I ever tuned was the tyres and springs. thanks.

This is the best most in depth tuning video I've seen. Awesome.
Best tuning video I've seen yet and I was actually looking for a Forza 6 tune video. Thanks.

Yeah I have no idea how he made it so confusing but so simple at the same time 😂
he literally wrote out the formula. i dont understand how it was confusing
I love you

Amazing guide man, you turned my 1000hp 240z into a beast, it turns as well as it runs now!
Can anyone tell me where to find the weight distribution numbers? In the video he said his was 51% and i couldnt see that anywhere on the screen
Thanks so much for uploading this!
Who else is here because of fh4

1:43 is were he starts getting into the tuning
Great vid u just got a subscriber 😄👍👍👍
When you're fine tuning, how do you know when to switch to a different setting? Like if for example you're fixing understeer, how do you know when to move on from softening the anti roll bars and onto softening the springs?
Great video btw
Wait could you tell me why you used 0.49 for the Rear damping instead of keeping it as 0.51?
Video helped a ton
New 2 game. And cars😂. This is invaluable thanks 🙏🏽
