That eyebrow hack is best for people who don't have eyebrows or have thin eyebrows I know when I was going through chemo and I went through a beauty class that they taught us that and it made a lot of ladies feel better about themselves
I would have loved a class like that. My eyebrows and lashes are slowly growing back. I'm on a new type of chemo now so I get to keep my hair. Hopefully you are are on the mend ❤❤
I love your energy, Hope! Being in my 40s, I have witnessed a lot of makeup trends over the years and the ones that always confound me the most are eyebrows. I've seen them full and natural (the best imo), completely covered and then drawn on pencil thin, over-plucked to within an inch of their life, "laminated" so they stick straight up like they were electrocuted (the worst of offenses imo), and shaped and colored in like a coloring book. It's fascinating what people do to their eyebrows.
I'm 51 and have really thin eyebrows. Every now and then thin eyebrows are in fashion again and I'm "in", the other times I'm just out of fashion with my thin eyebrows but I don't care. When my mom was young (late 60s) it was in fashion to pluck them all away and draw a thin line. Sadly all that plucking left her with almost no eyebrows. She only had a bit of hair left closest to the nose bridge. She always told me NEVER to overpluck because if you do it might be gone forever. So when in the 90s? (I think, not sure anymore) it was in fashion to have brows that were thinner than what I have I never plucked them that thin, keeping my moms eyebrows (or lack of brows) in mind.
Laminated eyebrows are actually super nice to work with! It just makes the eyebrow hairs easier to move, they get permed straight up are do look crazy at first but after 24hr or so you can just style them how you like and they stay in place. I have a few eyebrow hairs that grow downwards and use lamination to help move them to where I want to be
The highlighter hack plays on the fact that you want to highlight the area of your face that catches the sunlight. So in that case, it makes complete sense to do your brow. A few different professional makeup artist that I have watched always highlight the brow ( not under the eyebrow I’m talking about above the eyebrow on the forehead)
💯 I’ve done make up for weddings for years and learned the highlight above the eye brow hack too. It totally does give a sunlit glow on the face. Putting some on upper lip makes lips more defined. On the chin - it elongates it a little. Tip of nose makes it look for button. Down the nose, pinches it in. It looks really good too on the collar bones and top of shoulders to give sun kissed glow too
@@GoBigBlue79 I personally use powder and it works fine. You don't need to concentrate it in a 'circle'. You can just brush it on like you would powdered blush etc
@@GoBigBlue79 I agree 👆🏽 It depends mostly your skin type and texture. So the formula itself is more of a personal preference. Crème or powder highlighter would have the same effect either way. The more reflective the product is - the more effective the illusion will look. So that is what you would be looking for. As far as technique. I wouldn’t necessarily blend it in a “circle”. Just put on cheek bones as normal. But blending it up towards your high cheek bone point almost into your hairline. Then right above the eye brow bone arch area and Below eyebrow. Lastly Inner Corner of eye.
For the loose powder hack, what I usually do instead is when you first open the powder, peel back some of the protective sticker and cut just a bit off. I'll cut off about 1/3 of the sticker, leaving just some of the holes open. Also, to get the powder back down in the container, gently tap the side with a brush handle, give it a gentle back-and-forth shake (like sifting powder when baking), and repeat until enough goes back in.
Usually, you can lift the tray and pour the powder back in. If I get excess powder come out, i pour it into the lid, lift the tray and then pour the powder back in.
For the setting powder, I take a few cotton rounds and place them inside the container (between the powder opening and the lid). It helped SO MUCH with keeping too much powder from spilling out when traveling.
A spoon works better than paper for mascara. Bonus is it won’t ruin the makeup you already have on. For upper lashes, apply on the bottom of the spoon & the top for your bottom lashes, that way you get a little extra help with curling your lashes via the spoon’s curved shape. Extra Bonus is you can also use the spoon to apply eyeliner without messing up your eye shadow.
I think the blush hack suggests a more round shape, so it may be more ideal for people who like to put their blush from the apples of their cheeks around to their eyelids/brow bone rather than across to the temples - i'm still not entirely sure it would work but it would get rid of the harsh line effect
I really think it's going to depend on your face shape and bone structure. Hope has pretty prominent cheeks, so it cut off half of her cheek which looks odd. I think if you have less bone structure, it would help .
I get milia around my eyes any time I use a product specifically for the eyes. I just use my regular face moisturizer all over, including eyes and no problem. I'm also in my 50s and wouldn't dare add more product that I need in the eye area due to feathering and creasing in my fine lines.
From what I gather, the lip balm/aquaphor is supposed to HOLD the makeup in place so it doesn't feather or gather in creases. I do recall my grandma putting Vaseline around her eyes, then wiping it off, and using the residue to basically hold her powder in place longer ago than I like to think about, but I'm not sure it's needed with modern make up. Or this might be one of those hacks that works best for some one older than Hope...
Milia actually occur around the eyes more than any other area. Typically because that area is thinnest and we don't exfoliate it as much as the rest of the face. That's most likely why they occur when you use thicker creams under the eye. I have Lupus so I'm prone to them all over my face but as long as I use retinol on a regular basis and sunscreen they stay under control.
10:27 Avon used to sell eyeshadow sheets where the eyeshadow was already mapped out and all you had to do was rub it on your eye. It was the greatest thing ever invented.. it was called instant eyeshadow.
Omg I love you hope, you are the only person I watch and you really make my day whenever I watch your videos. You always put a smile on my face. Keep doing what your doing and never change because the world loves you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
For the aquafor ‘hack’, I do that for dry skin. Very sensitive skin because of eczema and it does wonders, I got to sleep with it on. My skin loves it and it’s the only thing I can say genuinely helps, along with colourpop’s hylaronic acid line. My skin is clear for once.
ARE THE ICONIC WHITE SHELF'S GONE?????!!!!!!!😭😭😭 I mean don't get me wrong I loveeeee the new backgroud, but the white shelf's were TOOOOOOO iconic to leave! Love you Hope!!💗💗💗💗
Bare Mineral powders have a rotating shaker cover to keep the product under control. Sometimes it’s better to spend a little more (when you lose less powder over time).
I love your videos me and my mom watch you all the time but we also watch you separately but we love to watch you together. You're one of my favorite UA-camrs ever.
I love how I watch her 24/7 Eating, even getting my notebooks completed, free time, skincare like every single moment except studying or my mom will kill me lol love youuuuu 🎀✨✨✨💕💕
Hope PLEASE look into mascara guard/shields. They're eye shaped and usually have a longer handle that's easier for use. If I forget my mascara guard I'll opt for a business card I don't care to lose. For the aquaphor hack Benefit used to sell this concealer I was in love with named Boi-ing and it was for that exact purpose. Hydrating outside with concealer in the middle. I was so sad when they discontinued it I've not found anything else that worked as good as it did.
The Aquaphor Balm is a lot better than just lip balm. It's nowhere near as heavy and can be used multiple times a day. My tattoo artist has me use Aquaphor during the healing process. And I personally just buy the balm so I can rub it on my hand then apply to my tattoo. It's just a lot less of a mess than the tube. It also doesn't break down as fast as lip balm, so it lasts longer. Definitely recommend trying it if you can find it.
I was doing my makeup while watching this video and just as I’m blending out my eyeshadow Hope whipped out her colourpop mauvin’ up and my jaw dropped cause that’s the eyeshadow pallet I was using today too haha

@@JaydaHeartTV I'm not judging at all, I just think the obsession with eyebrow styling is weird overall. But it's been done across time and cultures!
I’m 47 and I think it’s funny how the brow styles comes and goes in to lazy to do anything with my brows these days 😂
The eyebrows changed the whole makeover into 2000s and the red lipstick really complimented the 2000s vibes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You're right 😆😆🤣
nah the brows were like late 2010s
For the blush and concealer trick, I'm pretty sure she did the line to the middle of her ear and not the top so that you have more blush I think. ❤❤
Came to say the same thing! 🫶🏻
Ya I noticed that too
I think you have to apply the blush higher up
Omg the Groucho Marx eyebrow killed me 😂so much fun to watch and thank you for taking one for the team and trying these things out !!

Of all these "hacks", the only one I thought was a win was the eyeshadow blending hack.

Hope is so beautiful I forgot all about the eyebrows when she started doing the next hack lolll
The eyebrow cracked me up.
For the powder, just use a bigger needle!! They have bigger sizes for yarn or embroidery, those would probably work better :)
Maybe try using a different gage needle they have different sizes for different fabrics and purposes
Watching after the eyebrows, I can not stop laughing 😂😂😂😂 I love you and your channel.im a Big fan and I hope one day I get to meet you ❤
LMAO the eyebrows gave me flashbacks to the 2016 sharpie brows and Im dead 🤣💀
12:19 there is a tool you can buy to make it do the same thing!!! I have it and it works amazing! You should try it Hope!!!!!❤
Hey hope! I love your videos and I was just wondering in one of your next videos you can do a full face of sheglam makeup?!😊
