- "Extra's" Renee Bargh was on the red carpet at the 2014 American Music Awards catching up with One Direction's Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. The boys chatted about their appreciation of all things booty, and addressed rumors that Zayn is leaving the band. They also talked about their AMA performance, and their upcoming single.

Apparently one direction management only wanted harry liam zayn to grow out of the 5 in the band. They didn't really care and pay so much attention to louis and niall for some reason
In the interviews, most of Liam and Harry spoke because they were addressed and sometimes zayn .
I feel bad for them 😔 but I love how at 1:39 Louis smiles at niall’s restlessness and they start having fun 😂

Zayn, Harry, and Liam have the most commercial voices out of the band, plus they are the ones who in terms of looks are attractive (mostly Zayn). So I guess they focused on them as they knew success depended on them. This is evident in their solo performances, those who had good voices and good looks are very successful, take Harry who's been in the top artists for the past few months, alongside Zayn who worked in many model agencies and has been the most successful so far.

He was thinking about leaving the band for months when this interview took place.
Yeah in 'Beats' interview with Zane Lowe, zayn said ever since he joined he never really liked being in the group but he put up with it because the guys kept him grounded and his mom wanted him to and he learned to get use to it but around this time with his hair greased back like In this interview, in 'Beats' he said around that time he wanted to leave because he didn't like the direction their music was taking. He said he wanted to do his own thing and he said he's been songwriting some music by himself while he was in 1D.
He wanted to leave the band every since the first year of 1D..........

@@UncleYis Zayn has always leaned toward R&B and rap music, so when Styles mentioned those artists (which are only Pop), Zayn disagreed with his answer, thus asked if there were any rappers. That's why he gave that look. It's basically contending with his eyes, that's all.

My opinion on Zayn is that I feel like he's a naturally chill, laid back, and a quiet person. He was a lot more hyper when they were younger but that was four years ago. He's grown up. I know that I am a very soft spoken person so if I were in the spotlight 24/7 I'd be a bit like Zayn. Ya know. Plus the other boys in the band are very loud and silly so sometimes it over shadows Zayn; such as in this interview when she asked Zayn about the rumors, Liam and Harry just answered for him. I don't mean that as an insult I just personally believe that Zayn is very soft spoken and he's not necessarily naturally pop-star material (meaning he's not naturally comfortable with all of the attention) like Harry, Liam and Niall are. I don't think he's leaving the band. I just feel like he's really focused and soft spoken and that can come off as a bit stand-offish. Relax guys.

Zayn is easily the closest to Louis. Maybe its because they're the only two that are known to have taken drugs, but I think the whole fame thing has been the biggest on those two and thus they enjoy each others company. Interviews, live shows, these two always get on best when their with one another.
