There are a few different types actually. Have a look at "Godox" UA-cam channel. They have many great tutorials on the topic of umbrellas, lights and reflectors and what each one can do. As far as umbrellas go: there are reflective umbrellas and plain white umbrellas. Each are a bit different with how much "spill" of light you will have.
