Deep ATU causing air blowers to burn up Gast 87R Rocking Poston Compressor

  • This tank is pumped annually. There's no sludge on the floor. All new air lines installed from blower housing to the Aerobic Treatment Unit. ATU is 10 feet deep. I believe the air lines in the ATU was installed too deep. This sytem is 20 years old and blower would burn up and melt the lines after about a week of running. Client decided to stop putting money in it. But we had to solve it. The Aerobic Treatment Unit needs air to work. The engineering design called for a 10 psi air blower and 4.5 cubic feet per minute of air. But this pump kept burning up. So we found a pond aerator that provided 30 psi of air and 4.5 cubic feet of volume. This was the solution. One year later, it's still blowing air like it's designed to. The Aerobic Treatment Unit is now finally working as it was designed too. This will make the drainfield very happy. Gast 87R Rocking Poston Compressor

    I worked for micropump. Idex company here in Vancouver. We made all the components for Gast pumps. Interesting to see one in action.
