    Hey everyone, I am SO excited about this week's video because many people go to church every week but struggle to really understand what they believe about Christianity and why we believe it. I can make videos all day about relationships and they get lots of views. However, my heart is to equip the body of Christ with the understanding and knowledge we need not only to defend our faith but to build confidence in what we believe as Christians. I hope you'll enjoy this video and find it useful on your Christian journey. Thanks guys and as always, let me know in the comments what you think!

      THE BEAT by Allen Parr thank you so much bro for your ministry! God is using you mightily! when i discovered your channel weeks ago i was hook and always anticipating for your next episode to come out. Ive been a christian for many years and I have only started serving God 7 years ago, and i still have things I dont know and cannot understand in the bible. Your ministry is somehow helping me understand further. God bless you brother!

      I watch nonsense like this because it perplexes me! Are these arguments actually convincing to anyone? Or do people make these kinds of arguments know it is garbage? In short, are you a moron or a liar? The short simple response to all your claims is that all of your "evidence" for the things you claim is "undeniable" is the Bible itself, the very thing in question. I can make any book "undeniable truth" if I use the book as evidence for the book! The Koran is "undeniable truth" if I use the Koran as evidence. Hell, Gilligan's Island is "undeniable truth" if I use episodes of Gilligan's Island as evidence. Sheesh!

      THE BEAT by Allen Parr - I've been reading your comments, and I have the impression that *you really don't understand just how bad your so-called "undeniable" arguments actually are!*
      Using the bible to prove the bible? Really???
      You are having the opposite effect to what you think you are having - you actually make other Christians feel embarrassed about their religion.
      If that's what you want to do ... then fine! Keep up the hard work mate! ;-)

    Oh brothers and sisters blessed is the Lord, I have been a Christian since I know myself, months ago I became a real Christian, but now I started doubting if Christianity is true or not, yesterday I pleaded with God, I promised him that id live my life for him (even tho that was what I was trying to do before, i suppose now on a greater level) and that i would give up all video games if he just gives me a sign that this happened, and that he is Lord and that im going on the right path, I prayed before eating, I went and ate, and then I came back, opened youtube, and this was the first video, at that moment I knew, its from God! Blessed is his name!

    I used to be like the Atheists here in the comments. For 14 years I was just like them. I said all the same things and was equally vile, wrapped up in my superiority complex.
    Just know that there is nothing you can say to them to convince them. There is only one way to help them at all: pray for them. Show them the kindness of Christ no matter how hateful they are to you.

      Chapel The Evergreen
      It’s not about hatred. It’s all about the evidence and the complete lack thereof. The gospel stories do not align whatsoever when it comes to what happened at the tomb. Not to mention that these books and accounts were written many decades after the alleged event. You have zero contemporary writings validating this story.
      The notes given to us by Paul talks about witnesses he heard about, not ones he talked to.
      Josephus is mentioned as a contemporary in this video by Mr Parr. What he doesn’t tell you is that Josephus was born years after the alleged resurrection. He likely grew up hearing stories and in no way witnessed anything. He also mentions other people named Jesus in his accounts. Most people who quote him as credible have never read a single writing of his.
      I don’t have hatred. I am, however, shocked by how so many of you look at plenty of evidence that stares you in the face and you ignore. Meanwhile you say that those who don’t believe this story are ignoring the evidence. Well I call bullshit on the story you are selling.

      "Only a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit will ever change their hearts."
      If that is so then why won't your Holy Spirit engage in such personal encounters? If he wants us to believe then why is it so unreasonable to ask for good evidence (and it's not our hearts that need changing - the heart is a muscle with no cognitive function - but our thinking, rational brains)?

      @@exiled_londoner You won't like my response because you reject God's authority, but here goes:
      God chooses whom He saves. He gives Grace to whom He chooses and Judges the rest for their rebellion and sins. We All are deserving of condemnation. I am no better than you, in all likelihood, I am worse...
      But God, in His mercy, has chosen to give me His gift of Grace. After that, my heart (desires, will, mind) was changed and I became a new person.
      I pray He does the same for you. But He has every right not to.

    Well, I watch your videos on some regular basis and though I’m on my RCIA course, which means I’m holding to the Catholic Church’s Teaching, Sacred Tradition etc, my duty is to try to find some common ground with other Christians first, and that’s when YOU come in, brother Alan :)
    Seriously, this is very profound and also simple and practical explanation of the event in which we all do believe! Surely, this info should be helpful in case of meeting with someone who doubts this tide-turning event had ever been true.
    Though we don’t have an agreement on the theological grounds, I wish you luck and hope that with the God’s grace some of those critics of yours would turn to become good Christians as you and I. Many blessings!

    1) not every gospel makes mention of a roman guard at the tomb, but even if there was; they wouldn’t let anyone in or near the tomb. So, how would they know the body was gone?
    2) shall I start naming off everyone who was willing to die for or alongside their cult leader. We could be here for a while.
    3) you have one man’s claim that there were 500 witnesses. There are no firsthand accounts, and funny that Paul doesn’t give a single name of one of those 500 people to go ask. How convenient.
    4) How can you have secular accounts of a resurrection? If such a thing really happened so that historians recorded it; wouldn’t that be enough to change one’s religious views? If not; that really puts a damper in your whole second proof. I’m sorry, but if it actually happened; then there should have been hordes of people converting to Christianity right then and there; whether it meant their death or not. Btw; there were several notable historians in Jerusalem around the time of Jesus’ death, but most don’t even mention him.
    5)😂😂😂😂 by far; the most ridiculous of all your “proofs.” Crucifixion was quite a popular form of execution. Do you know how many bodies we’ve found of people who have actually suffered it?
    One. Just one.

    @doctorwebman 5 років тому +23

    Quoting the gospels to prove the gospels is circular reasoning, so Matthew, and any other book in the Old or New Testament, cannot be evidence or proof.
    The Josephus account you refer to is a known forgery, even for conservative scholars and historians, so that is also not evidence. But, let's say it was written by Josephus. That wouldn't matter, because he was not a witness to any of the events concerning Jesus, and was just writing down what he had heard. Josephus was born in 37 A.D., after Jesus supposedly flew away into the sky like superman, and would not have been able to witness any of Jesus's miracles, or the resurrection. Thus, the Josephus account can be included as part of the claim, since it reached Josephus by word of mouth, and most likely from Christians, and thus cannot be evidence for the miracles or resurrection of Jesus. Remember, the Josephus account is recognized as a forgery by most experts in the field.
    Your short list of former atheists who set out to prove the gospels false doesn't mean anything, since it is a logical fallacy to conclude that something is true because you are personally unable to disprove it.
    Finally, to address your fifth 'proof', missing bodies do not prove that somebody rose from the dead. If you think that is logical, you don't understand the first thing about logic. Jimmy Hoffa's body also was not found, along with many other people, and yet none of them are believed to have risen from the dead. Also, that you and others might not be able to explain how the body might have exited the tomb and not be found afterwords is not evidence that Jesus rose from the dead, as that is an argument from ignorance logical fallacy.
    Now, you mention atheists, as if the resurrection would prove that God exists. The ability to manipulate nature in amazing ways is not evidence that you created it, therefore miracles and a resurrection are not evidence for the existence of God. They are evidence of the existence of miracles and a resurrection. Since we have already introduced the existence of one god, we now have to consider the existence of other supernatural beings with supernatural abilities, which can also perform miracles, or even beings that can perform miracles and make it seem as though they can rise from the dead that use science and technology to pull it off. In other words, there is more than one way to explain a resurrection and an empty tomb. In fact, nowhere in the Bible does God demonstrate to a witness that he created the universe. The largest miracle he performs in the Bible is flooding a tiny speck of dust floating around in tiny solar system that is in a tiny galaxy in an utterly gargantuan universe. That isn't a God-sized miracle. Stopping the expansion of the entire universe would be a God-sized miracle.

    • @lefraudjames4729
      @lefraudjames4729 3 роки тому +3

      @Christopher Johnson,
      You fool you are dead wrong. There are tons of ancient non Christian ancient sources that corroborate Jesus miracles and his resurrection. There is a guy named Thallus who wrote an account about Jesus and mention a strange darkness in Judea around the time he died and even mentions the sudden earthquake too. There is also Phlegon who writes an account about Jesus talking about how he accurately predicted the future, and how he died by crucifixion and rose again and exhibited his wounds from his execution to his disciples, a man by the name of Tacitus also refers to the resurrection calling it a superstition, and for Josephus, he was not a forgery he actually wrote an account about Jesus it’s just Christians altered his text centuries later. And even when his text is stripped from the altered text he still mentions Jesus preformed miracles or miraculous feats. These texts are all written around late 1st century early 2nd century which means they are valid. Do some more research buddy.

    • @lefraudjames4729
      @lefraudjames4729 3 роки тому +1

      @Christopher Johnson,
      You are also wrong but hey what’s new? If the resurrection proves to be true that is some very solid evidence Yahweh is the one true God and Jesus is everything he said he was. And if the resurrection proves true than all of the other supernatural beings are totally incoherent because non of their miracles prove to be true!!! Also if the resurrection proves the Bible reliability and that proves Yahweh is the one true God than it is certain he created the world. You are completely misrepresenting Allen’s arguments, you’re arguments are 100% incoherent and they are weak. Do more research and stick to it kid.

Anything less than that and all you have is just gossip, which has no value even in this time.

    So basically
    1) Disciples were planning to lie about the resurrection, therefore them talking about the resurrection is real (couldn't have actually lied somehow)
    2) People died because they believed in the resurrection therefore it must be truth, unlike any other group of people that died over many other religions, cults or beliefs, somehow
    3) over 500 testimonies, except that it's actually 1 testimony about 500 people seeing something
    4) A secular (actually christian since he refers to jesus as the messiah but whatever) historian talking about the resurrection. Also two atheists converted to christianity two thousands years later (so?)
    5) A 2000 years old corpse (that people were desperate to steal apparently) has not been found
    Yeah I'm definetly convinced

    • @StephanoDespot
      @StephanoDespot 4 місяці тому

      This shows that you haven't paid attention to this video and just picked and chose what suits your need to disprove it. Everything you just said are very poor assumptions...
      1) The disciples planned nothing, they had no motive to lie about the ressurection neither was there any benefit from it, in addition, they were Jews so it would even be convenient for them to not talk about it at all.
      2) Not people died, but the disciples were tortured and killed for their claims, and at least one would admit knowing it's a planned lie, and if you were listening carefully, they were cowards so I'm sure either they would admit the lie in a life threatening situation or they would at least make a more convincing story about it, make them look more cooler and not saying - the woman told me that she saw Jesus out of the tomb, let's go and check it out - since women weren't much trustworthy at that time since they were considered "corrupting influences".
      3) There were many testimonies - all described by the eyewitnesses and/or Jesus' life writers like Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, also Clement of Rome, Ignatius, Polycarp etc... and Paul also wrote about it (women weren't allowed to write at that time) but it's not only 1 testimony about 500, but 500 about 1 same thing... now if you want all 500+ people to write about that 1 testimony, then how do you even consider or trust any historical manuscript to be true!? That's just unreasonable
      4)Again, you didn't even listen to the video, they were all atheists who tried to disprove the rising of Jesus and they all came to the conclusion that there is an undeniable evidence that ressurection really took place at that time, and they becoming Christians is just an additional information to imply how the journey to disprove Christianity led them to understand Jesus better and how important it is for their lives.
      5) It couldn't be stolen because there were guards who were protecting it, there was a huge sealed stone and the disciples weren't highly trained thieves or soldiers to come and steal the body... on the other hand, to disprove their lie or that massive hoax, the Roman authorities could've shown the body and easily stop the lie from spreading.
      I encourage you to read the Bible with open mind, there are even evidences outside of the Bible that confirm biblical stories (also the physical, archeological and historical evidences) and the Bible isn't just a story book, its literal style is not a fairytale but it's rather like any other historical piece, with the biggest collection of ancient Greek and Hebrew manuscripts...it's at least worth considering and checking. You don't have to be convinced, but you can at least make up your mind by understanding it first, without assuming things at first.

    Though these are all great supplemental facts, I worry that someone would lean on logic rather than faith when coming to know the Lord.
    God himself calls it a faith. I don’t believe we are to check our brains at the door of course, but when something such as Christs resurrection wasn’t proven to all the inhabitants of Israel and Rome (as Jesus very well could have), it makes me think that that was the point.
    I believe God wants us to trust in Him, lean on Him, depend on Him. Again, this video gives lots of great reason to believe our faith, but I’d say it’s better to let Gods word and our spiritual experience lead us to Him rather than us thinking ‘well since the facts pan out, I guess this has to be true’.
    So lets please be careful and be sure to bring it back to God at all times!

    Where did you get that definition of a "guard"? As far as I know, "guard" COULD have meant the Roman equivalent of Barney Fife. And WHY would the Romans give a damn about the body, and WHY would they allow a dignified burial anyway? Typically, bodies of crucified criminals were left to rot. And what's the source for the 1,000 pound cover stone? Ultimately, the answer to your "proof" is, to quote YOU at 1:47, "the Bible SAID." Why should I consider the hearsay presented in the Bible as unimpeachable? I don't know who wrote the resurrection story and neither do you. The authors "Mark," "Luke," and "Matthew" are simply pseudonyms assigned to those books long after the purported events. And incidentally, the books themselves were written long after the purported events described.

    When you say there were "500 eye-witnesses who saw Jesus," you are repeating something that many apologists have said for decades, and it's a wildly exaggerated statement. 1 person's testimony of what 500 others saw isn't 500 eye-witness accounts. It's 1 eye-witness account, and 500 accounts of hearsay.

    I don't want to piss anyone off in the UA-cam comments section... So... I believe in God, but weakly sometimes, yet I can deny these "undeniable proofs".
    If there were only "some evidence or proofs" of an event happening 2000 years ago, we probably cannot be certain, "sure", or confident of that event happening.
    1. The "pre-caution of the Romans" is merely biblical. There are no non-biblical or secular accounts of this pre-caution. I say "merely biblical" because biblical texts are written more like myths and fictional stories we tell our children with exact accounts of what people did and said and they were written so long ago, we cannot be confident in them as witness testimony of what they claim was done or said. The Bible is not Facebook content.
    2. The "faith of the disciples" could only show that Jesus Christ had a cult following (a group of fanboys) who would make outrageous or extraordinary claims about their leader without extraordinary evidence.
    3. The people who saw Jesus Christ in their minds WERE hallucinating. But, it's only delusional if they believed the disciples in respect to Jesus' resurrection on the sole basis of those hallucinations.
    4. Historians make many claims about people, ideas, and events they don't provide much evidence for. Future historians will be making false claims even with the evidence of internet content to work with. I would be more convinced by a Christian historian or writer who gave more complete evidence in his or her writings. On that last point in the video for this section, I don't feel the need to follow the Atheists turned specifically Christian off the worldview cliff.
    5. A very "Aha!" argument. If Jesus rose from the dead, then his remains clearly WOULDN'T be able to be found.
    Don't get me wrong! Jesus Christ can and could and may have lived 2000 years ago. People have lived on this planet since... people began! From the writings of the gospel, we can more simply conclude that had Jesus lived, he had a cult following claiming he performed miracle healing and was risen from the dead. There are no corroborative historical accounts or archaeological findings that prove Jesus healed people and was resurrected. From the accounts of his childhood (during which he was quite the philosopher) and his moral teachings, a cult following of disciples is likely.

    I and thousands of other people are the antidote to the Lee Strobel example. I was a Christian who set out to read numerous Christian apologetics books to strengthen my understanding of the "evidence" of my faith. I had an obligation under 1 Peter 3:15 to have a good response for why I believed. I ended up realizing everything apologists said was garbage and stopped being a Christian.
    If you're going to read an apologetics book, at least follow it up by reading the numerous counter arguments and responses to the content in those books. If you don't know what to read, ask an atheist forum.

    • @pauligrossinoz
      @pauligrossinoz 6 років тому +4

      aviatortrevor - I truly and honestly believe that there really is only one book you need to read in order to become an atheist - *the Bible.*
      Any honest, reasonable person who reads the New Testament _for themselves_ will come to the obvious conclusion: *It's just a story.*
      And the New Testament is not very long either. It's a fairly quick read, less than Tolkien's _The Hobbit_ fur example.
      Just as an example of an absurdity, take *Acts 15,* where it describes the conclusion to the Apostle's decades long argument over whether _circumcision is mandatory._ The events described in Acts 15 take place about 20 years after Jesus was crucified, and in the lead-up, the apostle Paul is the only one insisting that circumcision is optional. _Every other apostle disagrees with Paul before Acts 15._
      And Paul is the only apostle who never saw Jesus when he was alive, which would, normally be a strong indication that Paul was wrong and all the others were right.
      But in Acts 15 Paul tells of his success in winning converts to Christianity outside of Jerusalem, and this argument wins the day. All the other apostles fall in line with Paul and they declare, as a group, that circumcision isn't required and that letters must be written to all the other churches in the Roman Empire stating this decision that they just made as being the final truth.
      Now ... is that _really_ the way a god makes doctrinal decisions? Why does success in winning converts carry the day against the wishes of everyone except Paul - someone who never saw Jesus alive and was the newest convert?
      If their god really wanted to change the rules for it's own religion, then why didn't Jesus himself just say that circumcision wasn't required decades before the apostles finally stopped fighting their doctrinal war over circumcision?
      Any honest, reasonable person will conclude that it's clearly just a bunch of dudes making up stuff to get more followers. The idea that some all-powerful, all-knowing god was being correctly represented by that rabble of apostles is just _absurd!_
      *The road to atheism is paved with Bibles that have actually been **_read._*

    3:02 this verse makes no sense. The Bible was written after all of the story was over. Why would Jesus, knowing that by the time the story was written the people would all be dead- claim that as his proof? You would have no way of asking them.

    If you think this is "shocking proof"...do some roleplaying. Pretend for a moment that you are a hard-core Atheist and watch your video. Think of what a complete non-believer in Jesus, God and THE BIBLE would think of your 'proof'.
    ..
    Hint: Atheists don't believe in God or the bible...so trying to use either as proof of itself just makes you look dumb. Pr Tip: When trying to convince a non-believer, the first thing you need to do is toss the bible aside and don't refer or use ANYTHING in it to try and back your points up. It's akin to me pointing to a Harry Potter book and saying "See? Right there...it tells you what a patronis is. And if it's in this book, then you know it's fact that patronis' are real....because the book is".

    • @plumfun6750
      @plumfun6750 4 роки тому +2

      @@yaznijalan647 Physical evidence and facts coming from sources that don't care about religious beliefs. It would be nice to have non-Christian writings from historians of the time of Jesus ( year 0 +/- 30) to corroborate any of the Gospels. There aren't any. It would be nice to have a 1st-person account of anything in the bible....there isn't. Jesus never actually "says" anything in the bible....it's all other people saying "Jesus said..." and "Jesus did...". To make matters worse, all the "Book of..." writers never even met Jesus except for one possibility: Paul. And even his Gospels are seriously in question. The Bible was written multiple decades AFTER Jesus had died. Think about that.
      ..
      For example...: What if you decided to write a book about, say, the beginning of the transistor radio in the mid-50's (when they started to be 'shown to the world'). Now, write that book...but you aren't allowed to use any internet, no books, no video's or movies, no audio recordings and no writings by the actual people who pioneered them. You can only talk face to face with people who may have had a father or grandfather who was one of those pioneers. ... ... How accurate do you think their portrayal would be? Hell, just ask your father about some incident you remember happening when you were a kid (not even a teen), and see how close his memory of it relates to what you remember.
      ..
      Memories are quite faulty. It's human nature to "fix messy stuff our brain doesn't like". We do it subconsciously. It's why people have bias for/against stuff. Our brains don't care much for facts that don't relate directly to our survival or our happiness (the 3 F's; Food, Family and Fornication).
      ..
      So, pointing to a book written over decades, by different people, who never knew Jesus, decades after Jesus supposedly died and was resurrected, with only "word-of-mouth" from followers who believed in him with all their heart....yeah...not exactly "historical facts" if you ask me.

      @@yaznijalan647 Yes. I've read that. The first problem...it's obviously going to be so bias that it only shows/supports "proof Jesus existed"; the website name gives it away.
      ..
      The second problem is that the first 'proof', about Tacitus's last work where he writes about "jesus"...was written in 116-117 CE/AD...which would have been, what, 85 years after Jesus's death? Besides that...it states that Tacitus was "Christus", from which the Christians named themselves. That name, Christus is a translateive name from other languages. Here's a web-blurb I found explaining how common the name "Jesus" was in/around the time of his death:
      ..
      "
      Many people shared the name. Christ’s given name, commonly Romanized as Yeshua, was quite common in first-century Galilee. (Jesus comes from the transliteration of Yeshua into Greek and then English.) Archaeologists have unearthed the tombs of 71 Yeshuas from the period of Jesus’ death. The name also appears 30 times in the Old Testament in reference to four separate characters-including a descendent of Aaron who helped to distribute offerings of grain (2 Chronicles 31:15) and a man who accompanied former captives of Nebuchadnezzar back to Jerusalem (Ezra 2:2).
      "
      ..So a book written almost a century later translated a language name three times....Roman to Greek to English; during which there are sounds and leters that are simply not part of the others (e.g., Greek did not use the sound "sh", so a simple "s" was used...Yesua which sounds 'feminine', I guess, in Greek, so they added another S and dropped the A...Yesus...which then gets translated to English as Jesus). So, "there was a guy called Jesus" isn't exactly true or false. There were quite a few people with the name Yeshua (as noted above, 71).
      ..
      And I've only touched on the FIRST thing in the page/link you gave me. This is why we need evidence from people who don't have any horse in the race, so to say. Someone who doesn't care if Jesus existed or not...which pretty much rules out all Christians, Christian sites, and Christian literature.
      ..
      The Second 'proof' on that page says the following:...
      ..
      "
      Highlighted above is the Latin text reading “… whom the crowd called ‘Chrestians.’ The founder of this name, Christ, had been executed in the reign of Tiberius by the procurator Pontius Pilate …”
      "
      ..
      HUGE problem here. It's basically some guy saying "...some people said a guy was killed by Pontius Pilate...". LOL! No kidding? Ya don't say...a Roman leader giving the order to one of his soldiers to kill someone who would have been considered a 'seditionist' or 'anrach' who wanted to destroy the entire Roman way of life and obliterate all their sacred beliefs, holy scriptures, gods and mythology? Huh....
      ;)
      ..
      Anyway...that's enough I think. :) The bottom line...we need to find "factual evidence that results in a high degree of certainty". I'm sorry to say that "some guys said Romans killed another guy who other guys said was a demigod of a never before heard of deity...and someone wrote down a similar name a hundred years later...so it must be true..."....well, doesn't quite fit the bill. ;)

    Most Christian scholars think authentic Mark ends at 16:8
