- On May 1st and 2nd, 2010, the restored ATSF Santa Fe #3751 steam locomotive pulled a special excursion train from Los Angeles to San Diego and back. Here are seven runby shots of the vintage steam locomotive as it headed southbound and northbound. Many thanks to all the people and organizations involved who organized this thrilling event!

This one locomotive I have a lot of stories about, I worked on her in 1945 :-)
that's cool
What an awesome video of a simply legendary locomotive! Her whistle brings tears to my eyes (;
Great footage, this is the most impressive machine I have every seen. I saw 3751 leaving San Diego 5-2-10 it was bad ass.
It's like your sitting on the beach relaxing, and suddenly you see the 3751 blazing by and you be like teh feck
THANK YOU- brings back memories of my youth- a definitely happier time for America:)
ATSF 3751 blows it's ATSF 6 chime whistle
Great high-definition shots! I was on the May 1st ride and I enjoyed it very much!
Atsf 3751 goes to Southern Califórnia southbound to san Diego round trips may 1&2 2010
@HaloCE14 No, it was owned by a member of SBRHS. When he passed away in the mid 90's, the 5 chime that was on 3751 in the park was replaced with this 6 chime.

Love the video! Also nice to see the EX-CZ cars in the rear; Silver Lariat, Silver Splendor, & Silver Solarium.
We need to bring these locomotives back for passenger service like this one on holidays and special events. We need to get our trains back into service.
Nice shots!

Well done!!!
Very nice! Terrific camera work, wish I could come out to see this loco sometime.
Beautiful video, great job! Wish my video could be this good.
Great video!!
that was a fantastic video and great locations as well
Lovely panned shot under the bridge. If only there were more like that, I mean that's what you'd do if you were stood there isn't it?
A Berkshire class locomotive made in the 20's at Lima Ohio Locomotive works- YEAH:)
This one is not a Berkshire, nor was it made by Lima in Lima, Ohio. This is a 4-8-4 Northern constructed in 1927 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works at their Eddystone (Philadelphia), PA plant.
You know how to catch the sun... bravo!
Nice dynamic shots! I subscribed!
Has this locomotive's preservation group ever considered restoring a Pullman Green heavyweight car - lettered for Santa Fe - to run with the steamer?
awesome video i almost went on that excursion
this is really one of you a super video
bayern allgäu beautiful castings from the
1:31 epic catch.
Very nice video man. Those ocean shots had to be the best.
You shot all this with the Flip Ultra HD? Guess I should trade my camcorder in for one. Well, Merry Christmas to you!

Super !
...... Que Maravilha .......
looking forward to seeing this engine at train festival 2011
Cool! 👍
@Dippojtagyta Just wipe off your lenses with something. Also, the flip camera uses a digital zoom, so if you're always zooming in, your quality is going to diminish.
@railfan101 Off of a 2900 class
👍👍👍👍
