BEST FREE CAMPING SPOT - Meredith Park Campground, Lake Colac Victoria.
One of the best Free Camping spots available at Meredith Park Campground on Lake Colac. Great for Tents, camper trailers, swags & even large caravans. there was even 2 motor homes there for the Long Weekend.
Only 10 Mins from the Main town. The town of Colac has everything including Its own Bunnings store, McDonalds & Aldi just to name a few.
A great camping sport for the family. Dog Friendly. Clean Flushable toilets what are maintained (5 toilets in total & full disability access toilet). Picnic tables & fire pits available. Plenty of rubbish bins scattered all through the campsites & are emptied regularly.
We even had a visit from the Local CFA Fire unit & the local Police over the long weekend. they were both happy to stop & talk to the children.

Looks like an awesome spot (when it's not windy). And loved the coals in the firepit. Looked nice and hot.
Yes, it needed to. with the Chill factor of 40 to 50kms winds, it was only about 1.4 degrees during the day 🥶
Wind always blows across the lake, cold as hell, but occasionally has a good day.
Yep, we felt the wind on this occasion. Still would love to go back & camp there over the summer months.

Fishing for CARP... Yep, bloody Carp. They caught 15 to 20 while we were there Plus the other 10 we gave them. Fun fish to catch for the kids. The biggest one we pulled in was just over 60 Cms.
It's a nice spot but I heard it can get windy
Yep out of the 5 total days we were up there, only 1 day the wind was under 10kms. Most of the time between 20 & 50 kms. Hopefully better conditions in Summer.
Worst camp ever. Easter 2024 33 sites there would of been 250 vans and could not count the tents. 5 toilets , two had doors that worked one had no door. Huge line ups . Ranger had no control people everywhere. Never again.
