6:55 "you're not gonna lose this game at this point"
Just watch me
Hey ... I resemble that remark
That's actually a great idea to train us with puzzles.
I really enjoyed this.
6:47 I'd find a way to mess up the end game even with that queen.
Esp with an enemy rook around.
6:57 "You aren't going to lose the game at this point." Clearly, you underestimate my powers, young Skywalker.
Thanks for the great vids, I'm learning so much, I've now managed to get two of your puzzles in just a couple of weeks of watching, and my chess is improving faster than ever before.
Wow! Cool puzzle!
The peasants won this one my sheer weight in numbers and their fear of taking the rook until they got reinforcements.
Already watched may be on UA-cam this very morning, thanks.
This puzzle actually comes from a game between Magnum Carlos and Hikira Namakaru! Always good to see Nelson featuring the little guys
So kind of Nelson to feature such small chess players in the world
So, not 100 years old.
@@reubenmanzo2054it’s an old problem, not from a recent game
The fact you got upvotes shows people would believe anything lol
@@shoopi1234I can upvote for the good sense of humor. Relax, buddy
Nice puzzle! Just a small error in the video at 4:47. If the white king moves back to f8, yes black King f6 would be a draw but instead black would be playing Rh8. After Kg7 Rb8 black is able to stop all pawns and actually black is winning here.
Great Video nonetheless!
but then if white responds with c7, how is black going to stop both the b and the c pawns?
No that does happen as after Rb8 then c7 and you can take the b pawn white just promotes his c pawn
@@sumaanand2820Are you suggesting 1.Kf8 Rh8+ 2.Kg7 Rb8 3.c7 Rxb7 4.c8Q? But White's c-pawn is pinned so 4.c8Q is impossible.
To get rid of rook check move towards the rook.
4:46 instead of Rh8. Kd6. If Kc8, Rh8#. White has to play Ke8, Kc7 and black wins, right?
great puzzle
Thanks nelson
Great puzzle
Can do you a video on when to trade even when your down material?
the thing is, you don't trade when down in material, only when you're up or when you're equal and have the chance to either checkmate or mess up the enemy's positions
@@Peter-wy9kj theres gotta be atleast 1 scenario atleast
@@kirayoshikage8904 maybe, but most likely not, how about a video on avoiding being behind in material instead?
people make mistakes thats how you lose in chess@@Peter-wy9kj
what if the move for black after white pawn to c6 is black rook to d6
I am not even good at chess but this puzzle might just be easy.
@JonaasK you bet, but I didn't think of taking the pawn in the first place.
I agree that this was easy
It's not winning. Just play 1.c6 Rd8 and the Rook stops everything
What about black king taking a pawn?
How does that White pawn on a5 affect things? It seems superfluous.
Good question. Without the pawn on a5, 1.c6 is met by 1...Rb6, and then Black captures one of White's pawns with check.
@@JohnDoe-ti2np Ah. I'm not sure about how good the question was, but the explanation was better. 8-)
What if you just take the pawn on e6 with king instead of moving either rook? Sure the pawn captures on b7. Then the remaining rook just moves up to d8
White play c7 and there's no way for black to stop it
Excellent
Nice ! Big fan !
Superb
good one!
Pawn to C6 ?
stopping kids from saying second
Too late...
@@commandnity my bad :(
@@commandnitywas there another second comment before this?
Well, if you had a chance to look at that...
@@Faterson2007 lol
Rook to b8 possiblities
White can only draw this position.
Planning 20 moves ahead. Mind blown.
You don't really have to plan 20 moves ahead, after awhile you can see the pattern of how it's going to go. At least that's how I think it is.
Solved
very cool
wait... white wins? i had 1 billion dollars on black winning
In puzzles, White always wins. (Obviously, you haven't read Nineteen Eighty-Four.)
