I love how this skit subtly make fun of korean dramas/ kpop fan that wants to have a korean boyfriend because they think what happens in dramas are the same with what happens in real life XD
I feel like the Russian girl is the impression of that famous foreigner blond girl that is also on My neighbor Charles... I don't know her name \o\ It looks a lot the way she speaks 'o/
Is the last one suppose to be north korean? Isn't it a bit distasteful to use them as a joke when what they are making fun off is actually still happening(although not in the same way obvs) over there?
South Korea suffered great famine and plagues before they became what they are now.. Older people in their late 40s who came from farther portions (rural) are cautious and still very tradiotional as they don't want to experience the difficult times they had endured as before.. :)
sweetmyst Can you cite some famines suffered by south korea? I googled south korea famine but the results only show north korean famines. I know South Korea used to be poor, ever poorer than north korea, but I am not aware that they ever faced a great food shortage after the korean war. Most of their problems were related to civil unrest. Also, people who are in their 40s were born in the 70s, which means they grew up in the 80s. So they definitely did not experience any famine.
+Jyunkai It isn't always in google, but there are food shortage due to the previous wars. It is also true that the most who suffered were people who are on their 60s-70s now, however, take into consideration the children of those people, they weren't born to a stable government at that time, also, provinces are totally different from cities in Korea. Not just because the economy is good in major cities makes it true for those who live on countrysides. I know an english subbed documentary has been done regarding the Haenyeos of Jeju-do, you might want to watch it as somewhat reference to what I am trying to say.
The "Russian" girl is definitely the funniest
