Hindus are sensible, if they see wrong, then they accept. Hindus had made many reforms in their personal law.
But you know about the hypocrisy of Muslims, they never see any mistake in their personal law, but the world sees a lot. like - halala, triple talaq , child marriage, not adopting a child etc
But now it is very important to have a Uniform Civil Code in India so that equality can come and those jihadists who are taking shelter from their personal laws can be finished.
All these amendments were made by Congress due to vote bank politics. Muslims of British India divided the nation on the grounds of religion, and most of them still stayed in India moreover, these people were running their own parallel law (sharia) in the name of personal law.

All articles in part 4 of the constitution were supposed to be fundamental rights , but the economic and social conditions at the time of independence were not suitable to implement them. The integration of nation was one of biggest issues at that time, and forcing UCC would result in chaos. However , UCC should have been implemented after a few decades. There were efforts to do it, but they were unsuccessful.
I find it quite distasteful that you blame our constitution makers for indulging in 'appeasement politics'. You should read the entire constitution, particularly part 3 and 4 , then read about freedom struggle thoroughly before commenting on the great people whose intellectual and moral level was much, much higher than us.
