You are a great teacher. I’ve watched others and this is definitely the most helpful for me. Thank you and thank you to people who care enough to take the time to help other. God bless.
Thank you so so much for breaking this down in such an easy to follow fashion! You’ve just taught me my first ever song on the guitar. ☺️ What seemed impossible just a few days ago has now been achieved! Thank you!!
EyesForYou21 You’re very welcome 🙏 ....it’s always an amazing thing when someone learns a song from one of my lessons, even more so if it’s your first. I hope you continue on this musical journey. All the best ✌️
Dude, such good video again. I never even played guitar, but with your videos it always seems so easy to do. Got this one flawless in couple of hours, its awesome!
I just found this channel and I love it. I'm planning to play acoustic guitar and this is helping me. Thank you for that. Ive also wanted to know how to play A Message by Coldplay so I don't know if you can make a tutorial on that. Thanks mate
Cheers bro! I love the Coldplay stuff so hope to do more songs in the future. Been a bit busy lately so haven't had much time but I'll be back soon (,")
Ive found that it sounds a tad better to add the f# bass along with the dsus2 Best Green Eyes tutorial on youtube by far, finally a unique way to play it
massive thanks for this! first song i learned on guitar few years back. this version sounds much better, loving the open high E!! Will definitely be checking out your other tutorials. :)
Man, ur tutorial is clear and concise. Love it! Can I throw in a request and ask for "If We Cannot See" by Devics? Can't seem to find any tutorials or tabs for it and it's quite a nice song. Cheers man
Well done mate I love coldpay and I love this song. Im very new in this, cant yet get along with the strumming. Can you please illustrate the strumming pattern using the arrows or just write down.
This one is way better than other tutorials on this song...sounds more realistic. For my guitar/string setup, the open hi e is ringing too high especially on Dsus2 so I may be just lightly brushing that top string. On his guitar this is working though.
Thank you a lot!!! For all your tutorials!!! Some tabs in the web are not clear and when I play songs with their help it hears not clear. But when you make tutorials, your chords and tabs are always clear. I said too many "clears":D hah, sorry for my english, I'm russian. I can't understand all that you say in your videos but anyway, I watching how you play these songs and tabs that you writing below your videos (specially thanks for it). Thank you again!!! Continue making your videos!!! Keep it up!!! I hope you understand my broken english;)
Thanks for the feedback Roma, I'm glad to hear my lessons have been helping. I always try to give clear and accurate information, so thanks for letting me know that I'm doing a good job! (,")
Hey Dino, Big fan here. Your videos have made me something of a guitar god. So much love for you man. Specially with your coldplay tutorials, it would be so great if you could add their song “shiver” to your lessons.
Mikhail Verghese hey man, so glad to hear my vids have been helpful. I’ve recently freed-up some time so will try to put out some new content. I’ll probably do tutorials for some of the songs from Ghost Stories. Thanks for all the positive comments 👍
Kishya Rani Glad to be of service. Re Oceans; GuitarReference has a really good lesson for the song - you should definitely check it out. It's very comprehensive and I doubt would be able to add anything else.
Thanks brother ! Great tutorial, as always. Request: For You; Lovers in Japan and Don Quixote (Spanish Rain ) by Coldplay. I would be very grateful if you also give a advanced/intermediate tutorial for these ! Anyways, thanks again ! Viva la Coldplay
Try tuning hi E down to a D then use capo 2 on all 6 strings... this sounds better on my guitar. For Dsus4 (which is rare in this version), you'll need to stretch pinky up 2 frets on hi e.
Your marvins room cover is sick but im a total beginner I don't know any chords or anything and want to learn a rnb song any chance of a total beginner tutorial? Guitar for idiots? I'd love to learn James Arthur recovery thanks and keep it up
Hey man, thanks for checkin out my vids. Tbh most of my lessons are for post beginners, but there are plenty of tutorials for absolute newbies on UA-cam. Check out Justin Sendeco, he does a really good beginners course & his teaching is sound. Once you've mastered the basic chords you'll be able to understand a lot of my tutorials. I'm not really a fan of James Arthur (or any talent show celebs really) so I doubt I'll ever make a lesson for one of his songs.
Nice Video, good tutorial. But there's a little mistake, it's not a Dsus2, because the high e'-string isn't capoed. It's a D5 (sounding E5 -> Capo: e-b-e-e = root, 5, root/octave, root/octave)
When using a capo we always go with the shape to avoid confusion i.e. a G chord on campo 2 is technically an A, but will always be referred to as a G. It would be too confusing to give the technically correct chord names. 👍
@@DefinitelyDean yes, you're right. We use same names for chords as if we had no capo on. But the high e-string isn't capoed, that's why one single note has changed (no F# still E). If you play a Dsus2 shape now it's NOT the sus2 colour that you hear. That's the mistake.
And you play a Seagull! Great guitar eh? They really hold tune well. But for this song, I don't know man, you're just not doing it right. The strumming pattern is way off. Sorry for the critique.
Seagull guitars are great! The cherry back & sides on this S6 give it a rich tone, and the clarity from the spruce top make it sound amazing (plus the wide neck makes it super easy to play)👌 With regards to the strumming, I tend to naturally put my own spin on rhythms by default, and I encourage all of my private students to do the same. I understand you want to make the song sound exactly like to original, but putting your stamp on a song is the essence of rhythm guitar (this is why I rarely teach the exact rhythms in my videos). My main aim is to give accurate chords & help with the timing & transitions. My best advice when it comes to strumming patterns is to use a simple template to start with, then use your ear to create the sound you want to achieve. I hope this makes sense ✌️
This is the most accurate transcription of this song on the Internet. You rock man. Thank you for this!
+Aniket Kapse Thanks man! You're very welcome, I'm glad to hear it was helpful (,")
New sub. Excellent, been looking for a more authentic way to play this song than the basic A-E-Bm I seem to find everywhere! Good job.
Tom H Much appreciated. Gonna try n put a lot more out this year!
I like to do A (barre chord) E Bm Bm7 repeat

Thanks a lot mate best walk through I've seen of this song on youtube! A lot easier to understand a cheers for the capo off the E string!
absolute fantsatic tutorial.

Great lesson!!! I'll look out for more of your posts...
Brilliant lesson I've been struggling with this song for a while and you make it so simple to understand. Thanks man!
I'm very pleased to hear that Daniel. Thanks for commenting & letting me know (,")
Great version of the song, chord progression sounds right on
Thanks bro - it's an old vid but I think I did it justice 🙏

+Mariángel Hernández Gonna do a lesson for "O" from the Ghost Stories album soon (,")
Thank you so much :) love this song :)
I have the same guitar in black
Great guitars 👌
Hey Dean, Great tutorial.. Do you mind putting down the strumming patterns? xx
The pattern is built around the "pop strum" with a few variations (D DU UDU or 1 2+ +4+). ...sorry for the late reply 🤪
See you soon by Coldplay, please? :D
Isai M. and shiver!!
When you have the capo on, what notes are the strings? Cause my sounds off haha.
From the 6th (thickest) string: F# B E A C# E
FundamentalGuitar thanks bro
Dino what happened to your website? Keep getting “404” errors, is it temporarily down?
okay now that we know how to play the cords, will you please be kind enough to show how to sing a long with it now?
my neck is too wide to play fmaj7, any alternatives to the finger pattern that you have here?
+James Brophy You can play xx3210 - it's still an Fmaj7 but the bass note is an octave higher so not as meaty.
Your marvins room cover is sick but im a total beginner I don't know any chords or anything and want to learn a rnb song any chance of a total beginner tutorial? Guitar for idiots? I'd love to learn James Arthur recovery thanks and keep it up

Welcome!
Is the strumming pattern D-D-U-U-D-U ? TIA
offically missing you tamia please :D
I don't know that song JL, but if I get multiple request I'll have a look.
Chords seem fine.. the strumming seems slightly off tho
René musicfan
Very off
So clever to keep capo off first string!
🤓
There is only one mistake, it should be Dsus2/F#
Love your videos but i think the pattern of this, is not right.
It should be D-D-U-U-D-U
Nice Video, good tutorial. But there's a little mistake, it's not a Dsus2, because the high e'-string isn't capoed. It's a D5 (sounding E5 -> Capo: e-b-e-e = root, 5, root/octave, root/octave)
