Nice, I like the sombrero reference really makes sense. I’ve gone to Airflo for all my rods not just two handed . To me they cast great and last twice as long as any other lines I’ve used .
making it look so easy... what grain head, tip, and fly was on the demonstration rod? I just cant cleanly turn over my bunny leeches like that even with 525gr head
Thanks for the info. How long is the rod? I'm considering bying a shorter rod for skagit casting, what would you recommend? I dont fish big rivers. I've been casting the skandi way for many years now but really want to try this out!
Tom instructional clips are clear and informative. A great instructor!
Thanks for these videos, they really help to understand what spey casting is about for the new comer.

The rod used for the demonstration is the Echo TR 7130 loaded with a 570 grain Airflo Skagit Compact head.
I lauhged about the sombrero and then thought man that makes sense lol
Vote for Airflo heads! Extra-durable coating, no cracks or abrasions. Guideline also good, I think they are built by Airflo
what about line, hang up with the loop system and would the rod rings wear out quicker than aconventnal line

what size running guides would you recommend for use with these large diameter skagit heads?
I want to see more of that jet boat.
How does it compare to OPST?
5:00 if you want to learn how to hook yourself, practice that left shoulder gumbie cast
You failed to include the importance of wind direction in your criticism which suggests to me you know fuck all about speycasting
still helpful
lmfao @ Big Ass Sombrero!!
