For me I want to improve a word I hear floating around me a lot lately from Rocket League videos is "Fundamentals"
I starts RL for like 20 hours minimum a week last February and I got champ 1 div 3 last season. I agree one hundred percent. I was stuck in diamond for 6 months because I wanted to be flashy. Im just know starting to get the basics and positioning. Next step is taking better advantage of opportunities and converting move
It is hard for ppl to reallize. teammates are not the reason they are hard stuck. You may lose an individual game because of a teammate, but your opponents are evenly likely to lose a game because of their teammate. In a long run, amount of games you win or lose because of good/bad teammates or opponents even out. Moreover, at times you are that bad teammate, because a particular game or day just didn't go well. So what is the solution? Just get better, practice your weaknesses, polish you strengths, learn to adapt to different teammates play styles. Ranking up is not about winning every single game, it is about being more likely to win than not. Unless you accept that you can improve your odds only by improving yourself, you will be stuck forever
P.S. get good at saves from hard positions. Like really that skill alone compensates up to 75% of bad team mate screwing up.
Great comment, you’re right about the bad teammate complaints everyone makes. There’s bad teammates because there’s a lot of bad players but they’ll be on both sides. I’m just tired of the parties with GCs playing in Diamond to help their friends rank up. If they separated parties with solo Q, a lot of those problems would disappear for me. I do have 2 friends I play with but we play casual cause we’re not the same rank and they know not to ask me to carry them cause I hate that stuff. There are Smurfs solo queuing just to hit clips so they can put on UA-cam but those are not a big problem.
I dunno I don't mind being hard stuck C1, my mate and I are KBM players who were playing on release, quit and came back years later.
Diamond feels like too much of a stomp at times and C2 feels like a mix between sweating my balls off or cruisey.
We play C1 and we're just having a good time.
Fully agree with your opinion on c2, there's 0 balance in any of my games there and it ends up either being me getting hammered or me dealing the hammering, it also doesn't help that you have to switch your playstyles at that rank in order to accommodate flukey tm8s
@@NotStratz I just refuse to solo RL in general, just watching how teammates interact with eachother when I queue with my mate is enough to know it isn't worth it lmao
On the topic of C2, my mate and I simply aren't mechanically gifted to play consistently in that bracket, our aerials are ass and everything else other than drop kicking at 120kmph or passing haha
I take a lot of breaks from RL and when I haven't played for a month like you mention at the start of the video, I often get frustrated by my teammates hard carrying me cuz I just wanna go back down to some less sweaty lobbies.
Yeah, Ive renewed my lease in the diamond ranks for the 3rd year in a row. I'm fine with that. I was not a big fan of training but getting there. With that being said, it's nothing like watching and knowing in a tight game that not one but two of your teammates are about to get scored on because one of them decided to do something stupid as I'm racing back. Just watching it all unfold in real time is marvelous. Good times.
I feel you, I often play too defensive because I’m tired of our last man challenging or trying to score a rebound from the backboard leaving our net open. And when I do go for an aerial shot and miss, I’m wondering why did I go for that if we have the lead and there’s less than a minute left because if I’m not there we’re very often getting scored on. Not saying I’m special or great, just saying that in diamond you’ll see amazing offensive shots, you’ll think they’re Smurfs till you see them on defense 😂
@@theone3337 Yeah you will definitely get the occasional smurf game as his teammates are going on about how you suck while they're being carried. I as well have been that idiot on defense so I know the feeling but it's just so constant. I wish I didn't love/hate this game so much.
tbh, if youre hardstuck in champ/diamond its bc you want to have cool mechs, and dont try to learn how to actually play, if u wanna rank up, watch games from people like 2 ranks up on you and see what they did that would have been different from your choice in certain situations. just learn backboard defense and backpost rotates and be able to hit the ball far and thats how easy it is to hit champ
Bs my brother it's called terrible match making.Im diamond 2 in twos and diamond 1in threes,in ones I'm champ 2,I play with gcs and occasionally ssls and I keep up with there speed and run good games.Everytime I go into ranked tho it's a different story.I get teammates who don't even wanna play the game there afk in ranked just to make people like meh suffer.I go against opponents who should be 3 ranks higher while my teammate is still learning how to double jump.And occasionally I get the teammate that for whatever reason decides to score in our net instead of the opponents and what a save me after.Playing ranked in anything that isn't ones in diamond it's like looking for a liabity at this point.Im very mechanical but its all about knowing when to use your mechanics.Everyone forces it and wonders why there resets and air dribbles get blocked before they could even get in the air.
@@B_DEADYYthis is fax I swear I went up from d3 to d1 I kept getting tm8 who just ball chase and every time I go for the ball he comes right behind me and no one is at defense and then as soon as I got to d3 this first match our opponents just casually ground to air dribble and the flip resets right past all of us like HOW an I don’t want anyone saying it’s my fault an I should get better or I’m toxic or something now I’m d1 div3 and every once and a while when I play rank I keep losing so I’m just waiting until the middle to the end of the season then I will play so it will be easier to rank up
@@B_DEADYYI don’t think such a player exists. A champ 2 in 1s is at minimum a grand champ in 2s, and even with bad teammates can easily carry himself easily to champ.
I've finally reached GC2 after having been stuck in GC1 for 800 hours of playtime over the course of a year and a half. Now the problem is I don't think I have the consistency to stay up at 1600 so I'm bound to crash down to GC1 again.
Honestly all you have to do is practice car control with lethamyrs rings maps, ball control with dribble to overhaul, and always work on shooting every week. And also powershots and learning where your car needs to position to apply more power on the ball will really help. Oh yeah and also flicks is a huge must and learning how to get that perfect flick is very much helpful. I just got c2 in ones and I think i can atleast get high c3 with just being patient and having good shooting. I wish I can play with you but im high c3 in 2s and c2 in 3s.
I think the big thing people forget is everyone is getting better at the game. If you are hard stuck that just means you are getting better at the same rate as everyone else at your rank. If you were not getting better at the game then you would actually de-rank. People get thrown off by ranking up through silver and gold but really your only ranking up here because people quit and the rank stays at about the same skill level. Plat and higher are people who have stuck with the game and are continuously getting better so get rank up you have to get better quicker.
I can deal with teammates not performing because at least they’re trying, it’s just not they’re day. Happens to everyone. Where I draw the line is teammates intentionally throwing when we’re down 2 goals with 3 minutes left, or worse. It’s just annoying and the mentality doesn’t make sense.
The other day, I didn’t go for kick off cuz I was afk and the game started sooner than I expected, opposing team hit the ball slow enough for my teammate to stop it and I got back in time to see him watch the ball roll in as he’s typing that we should forfeit “and on to the next”. It had been 3 seconds since the game started. I don’t understand the point of queuing into a ranked game if the intention isn’t to win. We’re supposed to be a team and the whole time its 2v4 cuz some dude thinks he’s too good for his team when we’re all in the same rank. I’m not a perfect teammate by any means but I try to win every game if both my teammates forfeit I will too but if at least one of them believes we can win, I’ll try to win. It’s really that simple.
People on this game play with their egos and it just ends up in them either being hard stuck or getting demoted. Play with ur teammates we’re all on the same dang team.

@@Chris-xl6pd all games don’t start at the same time, just saying stuff at this point. I was afk for 3 seconds getting water, the game started sooner than I expected. He could of saved it but I guess he needed to puff his chest out.
There is no excuse for being afk at the start of a ranked game. It is just being selfish, not thinking about someone else. If you arent ready, dont queue.

If you play with casual only, your mmr is easily knocked down 100 with all the rando assclown teammates.
And of course people just get better, in any sport, so things become more tactical. Diamonds today would easily dominate early championship games.
Been in diamond for a year and a half and i have improved so so much but i am still in the same rank, all my opponents in diamond have champ tournament winner titles and champ rewards, its so annoying
When I actually trained and did a lot of 1v1's, I went from plat2 to champ1 (2's & 3's) in 1 month. Have regressed since, just haven't maintained the grind.
For me that's the toughest thing in rl, actually maintaining the grind is so tiring at times which is why I struggle to put out these kind of gameplay videos usually
real, i always see players with champ rewards and titles in diamond 2. i think champ1s are technically now are diamond 2s

4:40 But it is mechanics. Being able to consistently shoot, and just be able to hit the ball consistency is all mechanics and being comfortable in controlling your car. You still need to practice those things. Your game sense means nothing if you can't execute on your plays.
well technically you're completely right, I was probably trying to say more complex mechanics are completely unnecessary in champ as long as you can read the game accordingly
@@NotStratzof course, I know people in GC who can't flip reset etc or even speedflip. Flip resets, even in GC aren't needed. They're nice to have for extra options in offense, but they aren't fundamental until you get to the upper half of GC2 really.
Having good game sense requires you to have decent fundamental mechanics as well though, because otherwise you can't read the game adequately.
All my lower ranked friends struggle from tunnel vision on the ball. This causes them to not see when they're beat to something, and it's why they double commit so much. So much of their focus goes into just being able to hit the ball in the first place, so they lose sight of everything else.
The better your fundamental mechanics, the more it frees your brain up to pay attention to what the other players are doing.

I feel like if you can't play in Champ then you'll just get smurfed 20% of the time.
i must say i reached champ and i am so glad i am out of that absolute sh-thole of teammates and opponents who play so goddamn random most of the time it actually feels easier to play the game as a champ player i would never assume that all diamonds are bad cause its just all over the place there is diamonds who should be in champ and there is some where you start to question them and be like how tf are they in this rank and in general for all my diamonds who read this just actually practice the game a lot and definitely learn backpost or defensive rotation in general it helped me so much once iunderstood how i position myself in defense and all that according to how youre teammate is positioned ofc.
btw i was a diamond who could tripple reset consistently and be really mechanical and it is really just rotation and positioning
i would say if you hit the ball hard enough with accuracy every time, you will be in champ in no time

Diamond is the most corrupt rank. But GC is prob the hardest one to get out of.
being hardstuck is parlty/solely your fault theres certain factors like teamamtes but the reality of the matter is you need to practice, consistently play and work, aswell as having another other who can help you this is your reality because you refuse to change it by working harder and you have lighning mcqueen car.. come on dude
