Eddie ideally wanted 2 signings in before Japan to be integrated into thr squad would have been ideal. And Keith downie is saying PSR and ffp is still an issue. This whole system needs scrapping completely.

Totally agree Matty. Wtf are we doing quibbling over a few million quid?? The lad is a quality centre back, only 22 years old, as you say, he could form the heart of our defence (with Botman) for the next 10 years! Just bloody pay £40m and get him over. I’m trying to be patient with the club but shite like this really puzzle me, just get the deal done!
They need to get it done but I'm not surprised there are tough negotiations on either side. A few million here and there makes a big difference under these current constraints.

If we had the money we'd pay it simple as that. There's a reason why we're stalling over a few million. A couple reports I've read today say that we don't actually have much money to spend this summer and we'll only have enough for a CB and RW max. If we want both a CB and RW then maybe we can't go above £30m for Thiaw, and if we offer £40m we can't get one of our RW targets

@@TheDefJamm Its all to do with PSR tho. We have the richest owners sure but they can't spend any of it due to FFP. It's why we had to sell Anderson and Minteh to avoid a points deduction. Saw a vid with Stefan Borson yesterday who's a football financial expert saying that even tho we're financially in the green we're still on a tight budget this summer. Very annoying!

But surely Mitchell needs to be in the same time zone as the agents of the players he would negotiate with? Think the psr is a rolling 3years... not a new 3yr period.. so we are still only able to spend our increase in revenue.... so I'd imagine 70-100m spend this summer... we are still hitting 2 x 70+ million losses periods on the books. Which is why they're haggling over price... if they pay over the odds by 10 million for 2 players that'll mean a 3rd not coming in...
