How To Make Analog Glitch Videos (with any level of experience)

I put this small video together demonstrating how an analog video rig can be put together using common but outdated video technology. You can use this to make glitch videos, filters, music videos, instagram content, etc etc. It’s pretty difficult to find a lot of this information out there on the net for physical glitch systems, so this is a bit of a walkthrough from simple, to complex. This is way more fun than playing with an app (I've used them all)

0:00 Klomps and cams.
Starting off the journey with a DIY Klomp mixer (sometimes called a Dirty Mixer) and some cheap CCTV cams. If you want to send signal from your laptop instead of a camera, there are many cheap “HDMI to AV” converters on eBay. Read more about the Klomp here: dodgystereo.blo...

1:09 Video Enhancers
There are many out there and they need to be circuit-bent to get the best out of them. If you’re not comfortable with circuit-bending on mangling circuits, check out these pre-built options:

2:05 Video Mixers.
I use the Edirol V4, which is popular with video synthesists for good reason. They rock. There are many different varieties out there.
3:06 Feedback loops.
This is where it gets funky. Send the output back to the input and blend for chaos. You can also use a camera pointed at the screen for some wildness too.

4:45 Sequencing & Modulation
Let's finally add a MIDI sequencer and modulation for the ultimate variation. The sequencer here was the Synthstrom Deluge, but you could easily use your favourite DAW or any other sequencer.
