Wood Ambient - Piezo Contact Mic With Wood Block, Paper and Electronics

Soundscape with paper and prototype wood block sound device. Sound processing features Xaoc Devices Belgrad and the 4ms Dual Looping Delay going out through Strymon Volante. Outdoor scenes filmed along the Salton Sea in Southern California one day at noon back in 2019.

Thanks for checking it out! It's a wood block with a piezo mic placed into a cutout on the underside. The piezo is wired to a 1/4" jack. Once a cable is plugged in, it's ready to go.

Thank you...!!! It's a piece of solid wood. I drilled a hole and channel about halfway through on the underside.

Very nice! What's the paddle you're using made of?
I just received a MTM Mikrophonie kit to build, so I'm looking forward to making similar interactive sounds :) Is it a semi-hollow wooden box with the piezo mic stuck in the middle or something? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for checking it out! The paddle is a strip of standard foam board that has a thin veneer of paper on either side. This sound device is a solid piece of 2x8 redwood. I drilled a 2" hole in the bottom and attached a piezo mic about half-way up and centered. The jack comes out the end as you can see. I have done various box devices which you can see in some of my previous videos. Good luck w/ getting your interactive set up going!
