@@retrorapture4079 I don't know bro most of the arcade ost of super c destroys the nes version. However the jungle stage still sounds better on nes to me. The nes version does have a few tracks the arcade does not which rock.
Konami had enough hardware knowledge back then that they could have made their own console. Their hardware engineers really studied the SNES hardware (both console and cartridge) very well. I consider Super Castlevania IV and Contra III to be important early SNES titles. Im surprised that Konami actually played Nintendo's game. In the Famicom era, Konami made their own custom cartridges, but they couldnt do that in North America because of the lockout circuitry Nintendo put in the International versions of the console. Konami could have continued to make their own custom cartridges had Nintendo not locked out the SNES/Super Famicom, and that would have been a lot better.
@@scottythegreat1 A lot of companies do not want to do their own console because of the cost. Heck google had online gaming and gave up because they did not want to spend the money it would cost to compete with Microsoft after they started buying up companies.
Dude, your channel is awesome, and I have to say that listening to those great SNES tracks in high quality gives me a great dose of nostalgia. Thank You.
The Contra guys were in such great shape and so strong. Doing multiple flips in the air and grabbing a ledge or wire with one hand and hanging and shooting with the other. Insane grip!!!
It's funny, you listen to it as like a kid and you're like "Yeah, this is good." then you listen to it as a middle aged man 30 years later and you're like "Wow, this is *really* good!"
The game was so hard for me when I was a child, but I did remember that listening to this music, it inspired me to beat the level and defeat all sub-bosses. Damn, every one of them were challenging (more or less) but without this music, I would never have finished the level!
I used to listen to this as I drew my comic, which eventually was turned into a game way back in high school, lol. Today, both are being redone. This music always reminded me of aliens Terminator and Predator.
Its hard for me to believe that this soundtrack in part was written by Miki Higashino who went on to work on the first 2 Suikoden soundtracks. The change in tone between games is unmistakeable and shows great contrast in styles
Lol that's not really what I meant. Some of my favorite composers were women working at Konami and Capcom in the late 80's and early 90's. It's become something of a lifelong attachment for me. @@Allplussomeminus
This level on hard is what separates the boys from the men, the wheat from the chaft, the whites from the colo- okay maybe not that last one! Point being this level determines if the run has merit, or if you reset.
If you ain't rocking a flamethrower on this stage you ain't playing right
That's a videogame universal law
No way! Crush and laser! If you spam the buttons that fire and swap the gun you can do double damage
Crush Missles x2. Use the weapon swap glitch to take the bosses out in a snap.
Flame thrower and homing missiles for the win.
Flame thrower and laser are the perfect combo for this stage.
The depth of skill and heart put into this composition is unreal.
I think you would enjoy the new version of Contra's "Neo Kobe" I've just uploaded. Come check it out.

absolutely...
When playing contra 3 with this soundtrack it feels like your in a blockbuster sci-fi movie
This game really makes you *feel* like a blockbuster sci-fi movie.
I think you would enjoy the new version of Contra's "Neo Kobe" I've just uploaded. Come check it out.
"Tappy" later on did the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack
More than that
The influence Terminator 2 had on this game is undeniable.
the SNES sound chip is legendary. I cant believe how good it sounds even today, and the amount of SNES musical tracks that are this good
This track simultaneously crushes me as I'll never make anything as good, but then inspires me.
The composer is out of this world creating one of the most epic music in 16-bit history. You can feel the movie blockbuster quality.
This track is insane

I know right bruh i that is intense asf
This track makes me to aggressively attack
And burn people alive with a flametrhower?
Because it's time for revenge.
Hands-down this is one of the best game OSTs of the 16-bit era, if not of all time.
Easily my favorite song in the game. Climbing up that wall and watching the crazy pollution in the distance. Crazyness.
Me as drummer could say this Is one of the Best drumm playing in a game...induces To fight AND shoot
rush and beat from shinobi 3 is also a great contender for that title
The Mini boss on hardest, when you Walk up the hill, so tough to Beat 😵💫
And it was only the second level. This game didn't hold back.
Man going from 8 bit NES sound to the Snes sound was a hugeeee jump!
And yet I still prefer the Super C ost. Goes to show how limitations can actually improve creativity.
