- "Where I sit is holy, holy is the ground...forest, mountain, river, listen to the sound...Great Spirit circles all around me..."
This video features the song Where I Sit Is Holy, from my Bread For The Journey CD. A traditional Native American chant with new verses added by Barbara Clark, it honors the Divine energy that is present in all things, including each one of us.
I chose this song for Bread For The Journey because it deeply reflects what I feel about each one of us, and this beautiful planet we share.
The song features my husband, Richard Noll on flute, and Russell Walden on vocals.
My daughter, Rachel, created the video, and I am so pleased to be able to share the song through the beautiful images she selected. Much gratitude for her artistry, and sensitive attunement to the energy of the song.
All images chosen from "Free Wallpaper" collections.
This song, and the "Bread For The Journey" album can be found on Spotify, Amazon Music and other streaming channels.

Where I sit is holy;
Holy is the ground.
Forest, mountain, river:
Listen to the sound.
Great Spirit circles all around me.
Where I sit is holy;

Great Spirit circles all around me.
Who I am is holy;
Holy are we.
Body, thought, emotion:
Connecting you and me.

What I do is holy;
Holy is my way.
Work and play together;
Celebrate the day.
Great Spirit circles all around me.

Thank you for this song,wich remembers me that I once have been an American native,the whole planet is holy,only man created borders between us,the bear is an ancient being who watched the borders closely,, I am thankfull for my life experience in Kuterevo,Croatia,taking care of bear cubs who due to the modern world lost their mothers,observing from a distance man or women can learn a lot about life itself,take care dear ones,send within love,peace and harmony

Learning it now... Love the visuals...
This is a lovely piece of music. it totally encapsulates my pantheistic view of spirit. Beautiful!I love Shainas music. My sister and I listened to Songs for the Inner Child whilst we kept vigil next to our father in his final few hours. I know that it helped both of us as I am sure it did with Dad. Every time I listen it now I have warm memories about the time we had with him.
+tofty21 That's a beautiful story about your father; thank you for sharing it. And I'm glad that "Where I Sit Is Holy" so resonates for you. It's one of my favorites.

@@ShainaNoll With pleasure! :)
up and the up
Wonderful song, so deep and mystical in a simple and passionate way. Few years ago I also saw a version with a very nice video - a woman touching many things - grains, flowers, water, tree.... It was really nice. Any chance to see that version again? :)
I'm glad the song touches you...it's one of my favorites of all that I've recorded. I've not seen the version that you mention; if you come across it again, will you send it my way? I'd love to see it. 🙏🏻
It's funny you haven't seen it :) It looked like something pretty original. Well of course, if I see it I will remember to show it to you :) I just hope to see it again :) It fitted your song...
There are a lot of videos out there that were made by followers/fans; many of them don't contact me about making them, so I come across them kind of randomly. I did a search on You Tube and did not find the one you describe; I'll be delighted for both of us if it comes your way again.
Shaina, you say this is a traditional native american chant. Do you know anything more, like what nation it comes from?
Thanks for your question, Amy...I don't have more information about the song; it was being sung in circles back in the 90's when I learned it, and no content was offered other than native american origins.
This song is not Native American. It does not belong to any indigenous tribe. It came about in The Sweat Lodges of new age people. It's not a bad song it's just not
Come to Unity of Prescott!!!
Thank you for your sweet invitation... I rarely sing publicly, but am touched by your enthusiasm. And glad that you are gifted by the video. 💙
🙏⛲💖💓💖⛲🙏
Thank you, Melissa...I'm so glad you enjoyed. 💙🙏🏻
@@ShainaNoll Time and time again 💙🙏🏼Happy 2023 and beyond 😊
Love the imagery in the video.....something in my vision further 'animates' all the colors and miraculous captured sights featured. I saw this recent video and it puts to mind the feeling of movement for both the song and 'circling round' feeling of your daughters video. Beautiful uplifting, living sensations!! 👐♥👐
Forgot to add the video....here goes ua-cam.com/video/z_pvb8085Lw/v-deo.html
Thank you, Melissa for the lovely wishes...🙏🏻💜🌟
Shaina, this is exquisite. The images are beautiful. Thanks for letting me know. I love seeing my name in print. Have to add that the second verse was written by Pat Dell, then of Salt Lake City. We each wrote our verses walking arm in arm at an Earthsteward Gathering with In Context Magazine, now Yes Magazine, in 1986, planting a Peace Pole at Fort Warden State Park, Washington. Pat taught me the first verse on the way to the planting, and we made up the new verses on the spot. Wish I could find her to shout out a hello and thank you.
I'm so glad you like it, Barbara. And nice to see your face, after all these years! Thank you for your story...a lovely synchronicity about Fort Worden; that's here in Port Townsend and one of my favorite places. And I appreciate the reminder about Pat; I was aware of her contribution, and in touch with her in the early years of Bread For The Journey. If you find her, let me know...💙
Dear Barbara. Are you and Pat the ones that has made the lyrics for this beautiful song?
I feel like the drums should of been different at the end or is it just me?
Does someone have the partiture?
I don't know of any written music for this song, Patricia.You could try a Google search and see if you find anything; someone may have written out music for this chant. All the best...
