Something tells me this could be the first televised episode they filmed, based on a few things. Firstly, the design on the Balance Beam from the Eliminator is missing some of the white stripes on the far beam. Secondly, John Alexander (in the first 2 games) and John Forsythe (in the last 2 games and the Eliminator) were wearing a hat similar to how John Anderson from the UK series often wears his hat, but the hat seen in this episode wasn't seen in any other episode of the Australian series. And finally, Kimberley and Aaron introduce the games before their respective idents using the exact same lines from the Pilot episode (although the Wall's line was slightly altered from "stalked by Blade" to "stalked by a Gladiator").
I think you are right as if you listen to the intro from Kimberley she does say we call them gladiators. This is something you would expect from the first episode.
I think you'd be right, also Kimberly + Aaron are in the same outfits... so that's a bit of a giveaway, same events being used. I'd say the pilot was a 'test' run to make sure everything ran smoothly then did this episode right after.
The credits background video is mostly blank..usually it's clips from that episode, and the music loop is slightly different. Also this has different (better) Powerball music.
I wonder why they didn’t initially adopt the Hang Tough music from the UK series at the same time they adopted the UK series music for the other games.
8:02 Oh Ian's gone to The Wrong End so that won't count! Once You've Been Taken Down Or Lose The Ball You Have To Go To The Opposite Side & Pick Up A New One!

35:27 when the gladiator is disqualified for stepping on Ian's podium, it's my best friends uncle Ian and we were his cheer squad 😂😂😂

Blade's UK counterpart Lightening actually has the better record on Hang Tough.
