Id actually love to be involved in your settlement build challenge but alas, I use too many mods and If I turn them off I'll lose most of my already built settlements due to modded assets, either that or I build a whole settlement with mods off, record a video and then just reload an old save with my mods back on unfortunately with that scenario I wouldn't be able to save my non-modded settlement. Anyway I'm not complaining keep the content coming! Ive never enjoyed class so much!!!

Amazing. I did the same thing with my main build, but I used the shelves so I could store things in the countertop also I used picture frames turned around so I had a framed mirror. But looks great.

I think that fireplace might be the best thing I've seen you create. I know it's a very simple build but it just looks so good. I don't mean simple in a bad way, or implying that it was easy to build, as I know that doorway is right up on the settlement edge. I just mean simple in that it doesn't contain many parts. I've wanted to build a brick fireplace in this game for a while. I did build a fireplace out of wooden shelves but then, much like you and settlers opening your Abernathy logic gate door, I was worried about it catching fire so I lined it with metal signs and metal tables. There was really no reason to do that but in my mind I wanted it right. Subway token is a great idea too. I gotta admit I didn't even notice that detail in your Covenant build. On the other hand if you fill the sink with water then the drain is not visible.

I guess I'm going to have to scout the commonwealth to find some glasses and increase my perception ;) I usually do like you did in your vault vid and glitch something blue into the sink so it looks like water. The drain then seems out of place to me when I do. I'm pretty sure I commented on your Vault 42 hubcap mirror when I first watched that vid or maybe it was when I linked to your vid in my mirror build vid comments.
Thanks. That was way back before I had any DLC's and was still using the raider/mutant totem to "pillar glitch". I have an improved version of the file cabinet mirror in my current build that I'm working on for the no mods contest and there are some better DLC pieces to use instead of the file cabinet now too.
Its all about perspective paul! I bet if u placed the sink then walked up as close to it as u can (so you can no longer see the floor below it) u can get it lower. There is something about not being able to see the obstacle that lets u move a bit closer to it. N that trick applies in alot of cases. Cant get that roof tile to snap cuz that pesky tree? Move to a spot where u can grab the roof tile but CANT see the tree and i bet itll go. Takes some finaggling to master but itll let u get away with some things. Give it a try k? Im tellin ya... But at any rate, ur a great teacher Paul. Great channel. Great work. Thank u.
Great tip. I've had to do that on several occasions like snapping floor pieces into weird places. With enough patience and changing angles, it usually works. Hope they make it a more reliable experience, though, for Fallout 5!

What a great idea. I have seen something like this before. Are you familiar with The Insane Shecklador's work? He did some something quite similar back in the day, before we had that much stuff to use. Great use of materials though, very creative. I would use an idea like this, but it doesn't really fit my build style, but if I ever find a use for it, I will give it a shot.

Anyone have a thought on how to simulate water? I built a hot tub and glitched in a water pump, but I'm not sure how to make it look as if there is water in the pool. Maybe it's impossible.......
I'd love to find a way to simulate water without mods. The best you can probably do is start off building around a small pool of existing water. There's a small pool/puddle in the middle of Starlight Drive-In for example. For other ideas, you might try starting a thread over on the Skooled Zone subreddit: AfterSkooled.Club
i don't understand how in Max Payne the mirrors are actually reflective, but in a relatively new game like FO4 the mirrors aren't reflective. Is it too difficult to program, or is there another reason?
I've wondered this myself. There are a lot of little mysteries like that in the game. Like why are towels bars and shower curtains seen in Sanctuary but unavailable in the build menu? Would it be so hard for them to add things that are already available in the environment to the workshop? LOL.
