The design of the Architect's touchscreen and the super slim medical tablets were really good. The design for a classroom that ALSO has a real teacher is good too. The digital display on like every wall is overmuch tho.

I am not a tech analyst, but I think some of the ideas are over-imagined.
judging by what LG has done so far, this is technically possible right now, just um, a bit expensive.
Holograms are simple. All it takes is isolating 1000 condensed pixels per line in tightly packed rows to display the correct image that is being broadcast. If that can happen TV's will be MUCH cheaper to build & much lighter to carry. As for privacy the back few rows of the image console can produce perpetual black pixels to block the back of the screen.
This is cool, but what I really want is hologram technology
we should invent a surface that we print text on, and even pictures. One could carry around a bunch of these sheets bound together, and read the info in it whenever and wherever!

LG OLED Displays have permanent on-screen burn-in defects after a few months of use. They had to remove their LG OLED Displays from Korea's Incheon International Airport from six airport lounges that was showing the departure schedule. What an embarrassment in 2018.
seesaw imagine that, displays that are probably on 24 hours a day showing the same crap over and over and they got burn in. OLED sure as hell is not meant for that, it’s a technological limitation, not a manufacturer defect. People need to get that through their thick ass skulls and understand that difference. It’s like saying I can’t go diving to depths of 60 meters with my waterproof smart phone, because it’s rated to only 1 1/2 meter waterproof. Oh, that must mean it’s garbage technology and the quality is garbage. Or, my stock Honda Civic can’t beat a Lamborghini, this V-4 engine is shit because it can’t keep up with a twin turbo V-10. L I M I T A T I O N S....every product has em.
And 50 years later schools will still struggle to provide enough pencils and crayons and paper for their students.

I see all these new T.V's, phones, tablets coming to market that are super thin oled, clear glass, etc. but we gamers are still stuck on 1080p monitors you boost up to wanna-be 4k and act like you just gave us some top of the line new tech. Like wtf? Give me a 27" 4k oled paper thin glass monitor!

I recall watching a video around ten years ago, showcasing the same technology, suggesting it was the future by 2020. Still hasn't happened. Don't expect this to be reality until at least 2040-50.

Now why would I need an OLED screen that is also a window? The window gave the weather conditions on it like a tv screen. Do I need to explain the stupidity with that? If all technology can provide is turning the entire world into a screen, I will pass.
It's so funny but people don't realize that almost all the technology we take for granted to day, like touch screens, stylus pens, VR and some other things all existed 20 years ago or more, but were never brought to market successfully until decades later. I feel the same will happen with a lot of this stuff we see presented here. All of this exists, but the success of it is the marketing, and if they can't figure out a good way to sell it to consumers, then it will not come to be for another 20 to 40 years. Even though they have the ability to deliver it now. I saw an old Computer Chronicles talking about touch screen technology back in the late 80s or early 90s. It was ready to go to market then, but shelved for another 20 years, because they just couldn't market or price it for consumers.

I answered above. Basically if they could make it a two way system then as YOU age and become grandparents or are a busy executive one can send a self driving car out to pick up your kids or clients with facial recognition software. Also it'll possibly save you in case of an accident or a FAKE one as it'll replay on the window for cops or insurance claim.
It may also help someone in a medical emergency. Imagine you see an accident and tell you car to call 911. You run out to THAT persons car and a doctor/nurse/first responder via the windows of the car walk you through on helping the victim out.
THAT is just the tip of the iceberg.

By the time these kinds of displays are here it will probably be something else used. Like those "You will" commercials by AT&T in the 1990s, telling us they will bring us the technologies of the future they were showing us. It was mostly other companies that figured them out and delivered them, not AT&T. Still they where really cool at the time.

these screens exist. they have had them at tech demos. though last i saw a few months ago(on a video that was a year or so old), if you wanted a better picture the screen was more grey. less quality, more transparent. seems they have improved in that time.

This doesn't impress me. It is much like a predicted future of air balloon flying ships. We will not have flat displays, we will have 3 dimensional displays embedded in our view either through wearables, contacts or internally that integrate seamlessly into the world around us.

Jason Sebring are you serious, you must not know how things your screen is. It went from 10 nm to just under 3 nm. Samsung and LG both created clear displays that block information from the other side. Also Samsung has made a foldable screen. That in itself is 3 nm think.
Widespread 3-Dimensional displays by late 2020's. Contact-Lens miniaturized displays by mid 2040's. Visual Augmentation via organic-synthetics, interweaved with optic nerve by late 2050's.

I see self driving cars going to pick up our kids. I see all the windows in the car becoming two way "TV's" to be able to identify positively the "passenger" we are picking up and letting us talk to our kids when the car arrives. Once safely secure inside the car the windows go dark and one can carry on the conversation inside if you want or "see you when you get home".
Cars will be able to pick up groceries and talk to people wherever you send it.
So much more. The next twenty years will be AMAZING.

Ok, now we come back to reality: even if we make these wonderful things in about 50-100 years, the problem is that in the same time we are depleting all fossil fuels, so we will be in the middle of a terrific energy crysis, in a overpopulated world also (we are growing up consuming the energy of this "Golden Age of Fossil Fuels", this video was made with that energy, you, me, we all are consuming fossil fuel energy right now). We know that renevable sources are not enough for our needs, and they are not really free or cheap, or safe, or clean as we think, and people will suffer to have some energy, they could kill each others in a giant civil war, or world war, who knows? So, i ask how can this luminous future will take place? Do we really think people will play with so many holograms, lights and electronic devices everywhere? For me it is a naive dream.
