13:12 the story is amazing. I’ve cried a ton because of it. It is so amazing. The story is “less cheesy.” It’s not dark vs light, there are guys who are both bad and good, the story is less black and white.
im coming back after years and years, way before the new war came out, and at this point de is leaps and bounds ahead of bungie in storytelling. i'm wildly in love with how far out they are willing to get with their story in a way destiny does not. the wispers in the walls? duvari paradox? really really cool.
@@rpemulis i wouldnt say leaps and bounds better, its alright but the thing thats different is it takes literal months sometimes years to find out what happens to characters in WF compared to destiny so there is good writing but theres also less bad writing to fill in the gaps. For example stalker we basically got nothing from him for like years then he does stuff for hunhow during the 2nd dream we get some info and then theres a massive gap until the new war and then theres like another year or 2 gap until we find out stuff that happens in the jade quest and we're likely gonna hit at least a year until we see or hear anything else. Think about 1999 we also had a 9 month gap from whispers to 1999
4:30 they did do some recent updates that made it slightly easier. Though there still is a LONG way to go. Definitely they are dedicated to trying to make it better. It’s one of those games that you can easily say needs a better new player experience, but I’m not sure what could be implemented to make it better. Like I know more tutorials and what of, but how, why, coding, etc is all unknown to me.
even just the information needed for a new player its extremely overwhelming. Its a good chance you bounce off the game if you don't have a buddy there helping you learn, or you take your sweet time reading basically an operator's manual in the Codex for basic game mechanics. There is *a lot* to learn, and it is hard to get it all across to a new player in a succinct way in a tutorial.
1:30:05 Voruna's 4 is very good, but you kinda have to build specifically for it if you want it to work in high levels 2:37:00 "bad rolls" while being Dante and getting the "Blazing Bombardment" decree, but re-rolling it is wild lol
8:00 This is the only thing missing in Warframe to make it complete. Raid type of content. I hope they will eventually use the Railjack system to give us long lasting end game missions.
We did used to have raids, 8 players raid system, but due to the massive amount of bugs and to have “all hands on deck” for New War update, it was discontinued. I do wish for it to come back at some point, but I’m certain Archon Hunt & Netracells can be considered as “Raids”
@@ornithobiography arcon hunts are standard bosses at this point and netracells are just slightly harder missions so i don't think they fill that category at all. I think the biggest characteristic of a raid is how many people can do it at the same time.
The earth continues to turn, as Mr. Charlie Critikal returns once more to the funny space ninja game. It is something I observe happens in bursts occasionally. He plays Warframe on stream a bit, then stops for several months, then comes back later to do the new content he missed during his haitus. He seldom ever talks about the game outside these stints. TBH, good time to get back into things. Game's been getting a lot of attention since 1999 came out.
I will still stand on this hill and say the circuit was the best thing to happen to Warframe, just to cut the grind on getting a lot of frame and weapon parts makes it the cream of the crop!
12:46 1) Destiny's lore is better than its active narrative. 2) Warframe's lore eats Destiny for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Saying it's not "lore heavy" is such an inaccuracy. It's fine to not care about it. There's enough to keep you busy in it to not pay attention to it if lore or whatever isn't a priority for a player. But it has pretty deep lore. And luckily, it's all in the game to be found.
netracells r piss easy with a squad full of decent builds nowadays, they cant really be considered endgame at least in a challenging sense. as for DA/EDA, its definitely challenging but not in a very good/fun way, as DE’s philosophy when going into DA/EDA was “lets make it difficult by making everything 10x harder to kill while restricting everyone to a very specific playstyle/frame” which limits the amount of people to a small number of hardcore vets, and an even smaller number of people that find the gamemode itself fun. i believe the best way to implement actually challenging content while allowing more freedom in build variety is to focus on other aspects of the gameplay other than raw dps when designing endgame content. movement and coordination between squad members are two aspects of the game that lack relative depth compared to the gunplay/melee ever present in normal gameplay, and thats not acknowledging underutilized systems such as archwing or railjack. there are many forgotten modes/systems in the game that can help provide difficulty while still being available to most of the playerbase, and more importantly, add fun. the best example that i can think of that implements this design philosophy are void cascades. that mission variant blends the operator, which was previously underutilized in normal gameplay, and warframe modes of interfacing with the game in a coherent and interesting way
If warframe wanted to make destiny style raids, they would need to introduce a damage cap for those modes. Make it where damage above a certain threshold is cut off and only registers as the cap, more or less equaling the play field and giving DE more room to design encounters. The threshold should probably be pretty low so you dont need an insane nuking build just to play the raid. And instead you can focus on the mechanics. Enemies may still be powerful though, meaning you still need to build your frame well. It would mean that some builds that work better in steel path that pump out millions of damage may actually be suboptimal and it would create a build crafting space of reaching the damage cap then trying other mods with weapons/frames that aren't just strictly damage related. Like for weapons you might see more use of mods that increase mag capacity or reload or status chance/duration if you don't need to stack as many damage/crit mods as possible. Of they dont put a damage cap for a raid like mod, they will have to go with their current boss design. Having near constant immunity until you work around their mechanics.
DE has done this many times and the community has disliked it every time. So they've removed it in most of the content it was in. But it still is a thing in the secret sp variants of the fragmented one and the apex tank.
@darksungwyndolin8305 wait did they do damage caps across the whole game and people got mad? Or did they do in in select modes/missions and people got mad? Or do you mean the old armor system where high armor meant insane damage reduction which people did not like? If it was game wide, I'd understand. But if people were complaining about it being in a specific game mode or mission, I think that's silly and that would be the reason we can't get that kind of raid content.
@@darksungwyndolin8305 so I looked it up, DE used Damage Attenuation, which is reverse damage scaling where the higher your DPS the more it scales it down. It apparently exists all across the game to a small degree but some things like arching hunts have this to a more aggressive extent. What I've read on it, it's a decent idea but needs more polish.
