This show is one of the most beautiful and profound shows every created🤧The acting, storyline, music and character developments are absolutely breathtaking. This show will forever hold a special place in my heart😪😪😪😪
One of the most powerful scenes in the entire series. The acting, the powerful message, the general theme - faith vs nihilism - everything. But best of all... the music. 10/10. Richter has come up with the perfect score for this sad, sad series.
Sadly The Leftovers was snubbed of emmy nominations again. The whole final season received just one nomination for the guest of Ann Dowd as Patty in Season 3 Episode 7
One of the best scenes in any television show or film. It is absolutely perfect - the shots, the music, the script - so damn tight. Mimi Leder doing masterful work. An almost uninterrupted four minute monologue and it keeps you rapt the entire time.
That last scene just hits me so hard. Lindsay Duncan nails it. Always cry when she starts talking about her children and her disappointment when she puts her faith to the book. Fucking love the performances, even Scott Glenn. His reaction is so real.
She is extraordinary. One of the most devastating monologues I've ever witnessed. Combined with the searing music, I think I held my breath the entire time. Mesmerized.
Lindsay Duncan has always been a phenomenally good actress, and this scene alone shows it. And her Australian accent is perfect. I remember when Season 3 started I was thinking "I don't need to see new characters now, I want to see what happens with the ones we've got". And then this scene happens.
Arguably the best scene in one of the best TV series of all time. The acting, timing, music, all brilliance. The way he sits there and listens to her patiently and then delivers one of the most perfect lines ever is just pure magic.
This show (specifically this scene) is the only time a piece of cinema has ever made me cry. To me, that just speaks volumes about how phenomenal this series is, I wish it got the attention it truly deserved.
Go figure....5k views....The lack of wisdom on the internet never ceases to amaze me. The actress in this scene gave perhaps the best 5-minute performance of ALL time.
It's not even nihilistic. It's just realistic. He's not an angel - angels don't exist. God doesn't care about her because God doesn't exist. So no, there is no message. That doesn't mean life is pointless or meaningless. It just means there's no higher power watching over you. But you and your loved ones can still find your own purpose and meaning in life. The fact that some people like Grace are so heartbroken by the realization that God may not exist is quite sad.
@@MarkHogan994 Yeah. The sad irony is that if she hadn't ever believed in God, then she might've gone out and searched for them. The reason she didn't look for them is because she believed they vanished and went with God.
Max Richter would make a scene of The Bold and the beautiful look like a transcendental work of art. Not to say that The Leftovers is bad : quite the contrary. Let's say that in this case, Richter was the last part of Lindelof's scheme to make an unforgettable masterpiece.
I wish someone would upload the scene where Kevin Sr is talking to Christopher Sunday about his trip to Niagra falls with Kevin. It was such a powerful scene
this might be my favorite scene in the whole series. it just perfectly encapsulates the faith/religion vs nihilism themes that this show expertly explores. the music and acting are the icing on the cake
And zero Emmy acting awards for this show ...... lol. What a bunch of out of touch fools. This show featured the finest acting I've ever seen on television.
Devastatingly heartbreaking😢😢😢😢. No show can tear at my heart strings like this show!! Wish there was more Grace. Lindsay Duncan wasn't featured much but she left an impact!!
the big mindfuck of this scene is that after building a whole mythology around October 14th, you get to know that it happened the 15th in Australia... They again played with your beliefs and your need of signs. There is no October 14th, people disappeared, disappears and will disappear
@@CrazyTacoGuy1 yes, from this logical fact, you are challenged in this whole idea that the 14th of October is the defining moment. It's like 25 of December or 4th of July in America. We arbitrarily sanctify some dates as the beginning of a new era and this is a human action that has nothing grounded and fully logical. This is part of a storytelling. After 3 seasons of building a network of symbols around 14th of October, the scenarists end by messing up with your beliefs as a spectator that everything is important around this date. The effect of timezone changes the date of the departure and now that it can be the 14th or the 15th, it can be any date of the calender. This is not important. People disappear all the days of a year
@@CrazyTacoGuy1 there are a lot of small details of this kind that lead you to some kind of relativism towards the systems of meanings that the Leftovers are trying to build to try to seize the world, to have an understanding on it

You know what I noticed over the years? People don't hate on the ending or even the final episode but they hate due to unanswered questions. That's different, it's the criticism over a certain aspect of the show and not on the episode. But sadly all the hate lands on the finale. And it's a false, stupid hate since everything was explained clearly. I guess people thought that all the answers will be given in the very end and they haven't noticed that the show gave them before the last episode.
