As a man who got inspired by graffiti as a kid in the early 80's in NYC, Lady Pink has always been held on her own pedestal by me along with other greats! Keep racking, Queen.
Much love and Respect to Lady Pink... As a youngster racking tha Source magazine i studied them. Her piece blew my mind because it was the first actual 3D style I'd ever seen! Lol her letters were still undeniably ill as part of a structure! Since that moment she became the Graffiti Queen in my mind. BigUpz and Thanks for all you do to push the line and blaze the trail for writers to be recognized and 2 me you'll always be one of the G.O.D.S.! ✌& ❤
Legendary!!! Many dont realize that us latinos had a mayor role in HipHop from the get go in NyC. Respect to our Black brothers who started this fever but recognize who helped spread it worldwide aswell. Love AND Respect to LadyPink pioneer in the Art Game a Graffiti Legendaria Godmother Ecuas 4 Life 🇪🇨
Much love and respect lady pink, you've been on a journey from the crime ridden streets of new York city since the 1970s and have survived all the struggles and hardships that existed back then, and you are today, empowered, stronger and full of wisdom and knowledge on a scale, very few could ever know about..unless you were there in those times, once again much love and respect for you and all that you have achieved and the true success story that you are today,as well as all the female writers around the world that look up to you and admire and respect you to..
The first female graffiti write/artist, Respect 👍,, Here in downtown Brooklyn there were two female graffiti writers who were hitting trains In the early 80',s " Chic " and SS , they were hitting insides on the letter trains. 1982 -83
She was more than just good..she was a trail blazer..what made her stood out was that her pieces for a beginner were not toyish ..since she did alot of pieces with some top name artists from some top name crews like Lee, Qiuk, and IZ the WIZ it was always thought that she didnt do her own outline.. some of her shit was so dope that people had a hard time believing that a female had done them..she also put her work in going to the layups and yards..running from the police and racking up..she is a legend in the graffiti scene.. much respect lady pink and others who followed like abby
I remember seeing that art while bombing the lay ups and while riding the trains and looking at others work patiently waiting for mine to pull into the station.
That's so cool you got to exhibit with Georgia O'Keefe, she is one of my favorites, her and Frida Kahlo, it was rumored they were together for a short time
Videos that are about art are OK. But she seems to be just good. So I think that this is sexist. Also pointing out that she is Hispanic is not a qualification, it's pointing to her own racism. It's sadly true. She would not be here if it wasn't about those facts.
Your comment is astoundingly idiotic. I says astounding because you write in an educated manner. I say idiotic because you’re confused about the power of resilient peoples, people who successfully go against the grain of why society lays out for them based on identify. That creative resilience undoubtedly fuels a level of soulful and connected art. Not just conservatorial skill level art. Just Dumb.
PS she herself can and should point out whatever is relevant to her, when speaking for HERSELF. Why would you assume she’s doing something she shouldn’t in simply telling her story of her art? That’s a serious question to consider - why you have that inclination to “correct” Someone (while being incorrect yourself). That’s so peculiar.
What artists do you look up to?
Ghost saint
