There’s definitely something to work with here. Loads of potential for a great album. Maybe Syd had words in his head for these tracks. I suppose it’ll never be known now.
I will say, most of it does just seem like loose noodling with whatever riffs Syd had knocking around, but If You Go sounds like it has a bit more to it. Feels a bit more together and composed than the others. I wouldn't doubt if, on the off chance any of these tracks had lyrics, that one may well have done.

Wow, this is fantastic, much crisper than the usual version, and I don't think i've ever heard the "I think that was OK" dialogue before! I love these recordings, personally. I have to say though, it's missing most of my 2nd favourite track from this! "Unfinished Ballad" is in a finished state on the version I normally listen to, and goes on for about a minute. I love it, shame it wasn't included on this.
That dialogue bit was on the CDr I got back in the 90s but I never bought that it was from 1974…seemed like something tagged on from somewhere else. I could be wrong though.
Apparently, SYD BARRETT AND DETERIORATED MENTAL HEALTH, he had no inspiration to write the Lyrics in a single song....I also want inform you that, in the year 1972 there is a little- know song where he sings as a duo...the song is called ´´KEVIN AYERS AND SYD BARRETT- SINGING A SONG IN THE MORNING´´...maybe you didn´t know....also the album ´´THE FIRST RECORDINGS´´,PINK FLOYD... recorded in 1965...contains 6 songs....´´BUTTERFLY´´, ´´LUCY LEAVES´´, I´M A KING BEE´´, ´´DOUBLE O BO´´, ´´REMEMBER ME´´ and ´´WALKING WITH ME , SYDNEY´´....Greetings from Argentina´´
It's interesting that these instrumentals are rooted in the Blues. The first track has a Bo Diddley influence whom Syd was a big fan of. Are these authenticated?
I believe so, at least one source I've read claims they were taken from a cassette recording one of the people who attended the session made of some of the more noteworthy moments. Not sure how it leaked out to bootleggers, but stuff like this often finds a way there.
I would have liked to hear Syd play other instruments (Keyboard, percussion, drums, flute?). He could have made some cool recordings on a simple four track.
Had he just kept going.... With some extra help, fancy mixing, arrangements and some lyrics parts of this could have been quite good. Too bad he couldn't have just continued on. Very Spacey Indeed !!!
Sorry, there's almost nothing here. "Gotta go" sounds like a chord progression that makes sense, and maybe Syd had something in mind to sing over it, but would it be better than the worst parts of the second album, like "Rats"? Probably not.
Can’t help being magnificent.
He loved Bo Diddley 👍

idk what ur talking about dude this session seems like it was purely fucking around in a low energy way without much idea wise going on

Stuck at 1965, and that with "disturbed" memories

thank you for this🙏🏼
this is literally broken mind music
I think that was okay... XD The nonchalance....

I understand that you're different from me. We thought he was the crazy one. 😂❤😢
One year later Syd would famously show up at a Pink Floyd recording session looking heavier with hair shaved off. They didn't recognize him.
Poor Syd, just couldn't seem to pull it together
It wud be amazing if he recorded at home after floyd

I don't know
Neither do I. 🤔

Rats is awesome.
Rats is pure genius❤
This tape is far too fast.

Raw and disjonted material; there are some good ideas in it, but...too fragmented, too bluesy
Nothing to listen to here unfortunately.
