That's cool you can have the credit but I've been doing this for about 5 years with slightly different parts. Of part of chain link fencing at one point. Pond rake on a boat anchor rope now. I can reach across a good sized pond
I thought about that method, but I've decided to use a harrow rake. My pond is smaller, and since you won't throw a harrow any distance, I'm going to put it on the bank edge on one side of the pond, run some wire rope, hook it to my 4 wheeler...Bingo! Even if I have to disconnect & reconnect from running out of space to ride the 4 wheeler...
i want the anaerobically composted sludge at the bottom of the woodland pond here...so...i will be mud-larking all bloody Fall, i reckon! I could drain it...but who knows how long the spring and the rain might take to refill it! Thankfully not alot of water weeds...just a few lilies that should be fairly manageable. It has been several decades since any cattle have set foot in this old pond, so it will be a good backup water source....so long as i don't wreck the Ecosystem too much while cleaning.
Nice! Do you have an aerator or pump/fountain in that pond? I have a pond that needs to be tackled and it is just GREEN with algae. We just moved out here about 2 years ago and just haven't gotten enough other repairs out of the way enough to get to the "pond project". If you don't have an aerator or pump, what do you do to keep it so clean looking?
No we don’t have anything in the pond. It’s just management. We very very rarely let the cows drink from the pond or even more rarely get in it. Just letting the pond rest, and making sure you have the correct balance of fish will do the job
I wonder if this would work on watershield. My pond is getting taken over, I would just nuke it but I just stocked it. Looking for a kinetic way to remove them now.
I have a new person to follow yeah. I know you probably know but if you put a polish edge on that blade, you’d be cutting butter. I finish my blades with a leather strop.
@@AgainstTheGrainDiet Great. I ordered some after I saw your video and they have not arrived yet. I like your pond invention. I would have told you with a high degree of certainty that it would not have worked. You never know until you try. Thanks
I have a sthl weed eater that has attachments. One is a brush cutter that works good on woodier stuff. Echo makes one too. I like the pond rake!!! I might try that.
Not sure about a scythe with the bent snath, but with a European scythe, the blade should not leave the ground even in the follow through. I have poor form, but with a little muscle, that stuff comes *down*! Still watching to see your invention.
The stock tank has its own eco-system. Why drag it. If you offset the balance. It’ll go rancid or ph neg and your cows won’t drink from it? Put some carp or cropee in there. Just kinda odd.
That fact that you didn’t invent anything makes this whole video laughable. What you did is called repurposing (to adapt and utilize something for a new purpose).
Whoa. What a great and simple idea. I am going to make one today. We just have 1/3acre pond. Thanks for posting. Retired Army/Army Reserve '67 - '01.🎉
You can also make one with a strong metal rake head and rope. Works well if you want to clear weeds from the bed of the pond.
Bro, you’re a genius.
That's great material for your compost! Working smarter not harder is the name of the game 😊
That’s what I was thinking!

1. Pond dye
2. Aeration
3. Beneficial bacteria
4. Barley extract/tablets
5. phosphorus binder/Aquatic herbicide

@@AgainstTheGrainDiet Oh wow. Nice! Thanks for getting back to me. I've got A LOT of work ahead of me.
Make sure to have fun with it!
Great that you found a solution.
You can clean the lake by pumping out bottom sediments with a motor pump with a suction nozzle Bagermaster
I wonder if this would work on watershield. My pond is getting taken over, I would just nuke it but I just stocked it. Looking for a kinetic way to remove them now.
You can spray the weeds and not kill the fish
You could call it a "Tinesaver" pond weed rake.
This is pretty cool

What happened to the $1 fence posts? I thought you liked them?
I found the $.67 ones lol

Awesome! Remember to use a drill press when you drill them! Makes things much easier and don’t forget gloves!

I actually ordered one of those but need an adapter! You should make one it works great!

I’m sure I’m doing it wrong but just going with whatever works
Grass carp would've been alot easier and they are cheap but that works to
What happened to your push mower? You can hit the bank with that.
I use that in the backyard mostly. It’s not gonna take down the Woody stuff
The Texas pond drag
That’s a good one!

It’s growing up so much tells me the balance is off so helping it balance out by doing this
Dude! That’s a mulch and compost material harvester!
That’s actually genius! I was thinking about laying it on the pond damn but that might have to go to the garden
Try something called a stihl with a brush blade just saying
Using that scythe like a slingblade....
pond wifey?😂
on second thought, pond drag queen is more modern name
Cordless hedge trimmer.
DragonGrass pond weeder
That's not ganna clean your whole pond. Very disappointed.
