Francis’s new 52 flash run was what introduced me into comics, still my favorite comic art even though I read MARVEL more often now. Thanks for the tips, I’ve been looking for art tips for comics for a long time
I have to say, this guy is definitively my favourite artist, his new 52 Flash work was what got me into comics, and i just found out that he worked on DC rebirth, Trinity(a comic about the adventures of Supes the Bat and Wonderwoman) This guy never fails to deliver, the colours, in particular, are what I like best
Francis, first of all, thank you so much for starting this series and showing us the secrets of the craft. Now, I think your covers are simply stunning but I would also like to make videos about interiors and storytelling, or even about writing. Keep up the good work!!!
I’ve been waiting for this series to start! I can’t wait to see the details of your process from sketch to final colors. I know you have an unconventional process but it creates a unique aesthetic that I’m so interested in!
you are one of the master i have been trying to study, specifically your ideas and implementation of color theory...you are wonderful at coloring and composition...a true si fu, thanks for sharing here 🙏🏾
Just found out you had a channel through your interview with Dave and Meredith. This is only the second video I've watched so far, but.... Oh My God I Love This Channel!!!!
I recently found your art from PopCross Studios UA-cam channel, and I instantly fell in love with your style! I am so excited to see more stuff from you!
Haha, the ending killed me. It's cool you're incorporating what you know from comics into video. I've recently been getting into photography to help my art and because it's fun. One thing that would be so cool is how you plan out the paneling for each issue or even just for a scene. Also, I've always been interested how you plan out the values in a picture. How do you decide when to use extreme black for shadows and how much in a panel? Some panels have a lot of black for the shadows and some very little and it looks very balanced and perfect when you do it. Pictures with those extreme values pop the most but it's so hard to learn. Even just a little black and white extremes can really make a picture.
is this original and self produced music? great video and amazing content!! turns out when i remade a marvel cover for a video this week I used the "triangle framing device" in the redraw without being aware of it!
Hi! Great job on the videos! I started working on a Photoshop kind of program, and I don't know what the quick mask and flattening image tools do. Can you help me?

Your video production was stellar. So much better than some guy at a drafting table with harsh lighting.
Francis, this is killer. Can't wait to see more. Surface fam.
Thank you.
LOVE the support to local comic book stores
OH man so this is what you were talking about at NYCC this past weekend!!!! I hope this channel is FILLED with great info soon THANK YOU SIR!!
Would love to see more of these helpful videos. Thank you!!!
Francis, it was definitely worth the wait. Could you go through layouts and pacing in future episodes.

This is such a great idea. Personally I've always been fascinated by your unique paneling and layouts, so I would love to see you talk about that
Thanks! The great thing about a good composition is that i can translate at all skill levels.
Awesome stuff buddy. Subscribed!
I appreciate the awkwardness of the ending and setting up. Dope first episode!
Adds an extra BTS to your Thursdays:)
Francis Manapul Right. Have you checked out Jason Latour’s new show, the Drawl?
This is awesome. Hope you keep it up. You put a lot of effort into this and it shows. Love the bit at the end and always enjoy art tips.
A general anatomy lesson would be awesome! I struggle with some of the finer details of anatomy.
Focus on STRUCTURE, more than anatomy. Insertions and proportion. Look up Kim Jung Gi. Explains it well.
How have I not found your videos before? Love it! Thanks for sharing it!
Amazing job! greetings from Brazil
Quality content 👌👌, thank you
Thanks man!
