There used to be a laser tag place near where I grew up in the 90s called Laser Quest. I vividly remember one time while there for a friend's birthday party this song came on while we were running through the black light and neon maze of the laser tag arena. Being massive fans of the games and movie, my friends and I collectively lost our shit when this song started playing. However amped we were prior to this song coming on was magnified tenfold afterwards. It was an indescribable experience that my friends and I talked about on the way back home, at school days and weeks after, and even years later. It's amazing how much an incredible track like this can make an already memorable experience the stuff of legends and intense nostalgia nearly 30 years later.
Reptile has just SO MUCH AGGRESSION, doesn't allow his enemy time to breathe. It's kind of spooky seeing Liu Kang completely on the defensive. It's great being able to tell the masked fighters are all different people by their styles and energy.

Lu Kangs actor broke his ribs on the scene where Reptile throws him into the Pillar, they shot the scene 10 times and on the last take he breaks ribs, thats the one used in the scene. LOL
Yeah, I heard it also shortened the fight. That's why there was no real buildup to Kang turning it around. Pity, but still quite possibly the best fight in the entire movie. That flip dropkick alone at 0:27

Aside from Bi Han being portrayed the way he was, and the Lin Kuei killing the whole clan and family, which it wasn't them it was Quan Chi in disguise, the opening is peak Mortal Kombat. I love how in all of Liu Kang's fights in the film, Reptile is the only one was caught him by surprise and gave him a legit whooping. The other fights including the Monk (1st fight), Kitana, Sub Zero, and Shang Tsung, there was like a mutual stand off before throwing punches. Reptile? Nope. Just a straight running drop kick and followed by more kicks.
The fight between Reptile and Liu Kang is such way different, because at first, it was choreographed by Liu Kang itself, and at second, which is connected to first: it's done by Hong Kong actors,who knows how to do onscreen fight would gate

That had to have been so cool I was 8 when this came out or maybe 7 and I loved this movie as a kid. To this day I still watch it and enjoy it. The soundtrack is dope I have it on cd actually. that had to be so cool though to see it in theaters. I did see the second movie with my moms ex husband in the theaters I was pissed when they killed off Johnny cage as he was my favorite also the lack of ninja characters bummed me out. It wasn't a bad movie to a pre teen but as an adult I can still watch the movie and get some nostalgia also that movie had a badass soundtrack. but the first movie was way better by far.
