Gross vehicle weight rating is the max loaded amount of weight the vehicle is able to operate with, including passengers, fluids, cargo, etc. That doesn't mean the 03 weighs less than the newer ones, it might just mean it can carry less.
Also, that gauge is for oil pressure, not oil level. Very useful gauge to have.
Other than that, great video, thanks for posting

That steel wheel design on that 2003 you have here is actually the 2nd wheel design for the 2nd gen P71 Vics. The 1st design (1998-2002) had smaller squared off vent holes and there were more of them, they also had a much more concave look to them. As far as I know, only the 2003-2005 16 inch steel wheels were recalled for cracking issues. In 2006 they moved on to the 17 inch wheel design that remained until 2011/2012.

    Just a precaution for P71's.
A P71 was towed into my shop today on a rollback, missing the right rear wheel..
It rusted at the outer axle where the rotor is on the hub assembly.. The entire wheel snapped off with the rotor and hub attached was sitting on the rollback bed..
    Stay safe everyone..

yeah.. the 03 is weird. it has a lot of crossover year issues. I have a canadian model so at least everything is one standardization... even if it is metric.
It really helps to think of this as a Mustang GT Crew Cab. before they switched to 3v 4.6l's
also, when i was taking the interior apart, my PI actually has the door module for keyless entry. even though it has no remote. and it's all ford branded. I can't find the signal it responds to, so maybe its just a non-functional brick, but it is powered and gets warm.

#1, the wheels. 16" and 17" wheels really don't matter. The overall tire diameter is very close. In my experience, the speedometer roll out is less than 1mph at 70mph between the two. Second, the 11 window wheels that you show here are NOT the ones that had the issue with the leaking due to improper welds, that would have been the 7 window variants and they were dropped in production during 2003. #2, the engine is 239 HP not 229, and torque is 287 lb ft, not 272. You may have gotten these numbers from an LX. Power is up from 235 in 2001-2002. 2004+ got a larger MAF and airbox and the tuning that went with it, giving that extra 11HP and 10 lb ft torque. RKE was not built into a police interceptor until 2008. Adjustable pedals were an option on the 2003. They were not standard until 2009.

So the wheels you have are actually not the ones that crack you've got the recall equipped one so thats wrong, the 06s were the first year for 17 inch, and its not fair comparing an 03 which was the upgrade from the 98-02 models which were still similar to an aero and Canada just sucks because 03s here in America have cruise regularly equipped and we get to actually go and see our cars and they were optioned with foot pedal adjustment as well you just bought a low optioned one but the 03 years worst facts is they were known to have rough idle from factory as well as having a gas tank set up that would sometimes explode in a rear end collision which lead to one of the reasons for dupont creating the trunk pack but this is coming from an 03 owner and wishing I had a 98-02 oh and gotta remember theyre police cars and keyless entry shouldn't be a downfall or an inconvenience it actually shouldn't even be a thought

Of all CVPI years, the 03s are the most problematic, they have so many mechanical issues for some reason, it’s why you don’t see much of them on the road anymore.
