I had a solo game where I got a clean sweep on both roger and Vincent, literally killed the entire lobby, and the highlight of that game was picking up the drilling off someone’s dead body.
The sound of a Drilling in the distance brings great joy, losing it in the next round brings the opposite ;(

not sure how they would balance it or practicality wise but I feel like since it's a break action when you have fired all three shells there should be a special reload animation where you always reload all 3 not just the rifle or shotgun. It just looks weird imo when it doesn't.

I thouged about this to untill i realized it's a hammerless shotgun in 1890's
I wish on console that they made it where if you tapped the jump button you would jump and if you held it you vaulted because it would make jumping into windows way easier 7:39. it would also reduce the amount of deaths by accidentally vaulting over something.
Can you not key-map on a normal controller?
A little tip that i found is that if you jump looking sideways on a window it won't vault it and it will let you do this kinda stuff

@@attila4480 Shame. Having Jump/vault mapped differently is the biggest change you can make. It was years before I realised I could do it on PC because I’m dumb lmao & it’s crazy.
@@alexrennison8070 yea it sucks. i wish crytek would make it so that in order to vault youd need to hold the jump button to vault n tapping it to jump rather than defaulting to vaulting whenever u are facing a vaultable area no matter the input. itd be such quality of life change, u dont know how many times ive climbed smt to get headshot when i just wanted to jump in n peek LOL, but alas crytek dont give af about console

@@lookatmyright I mean a officer carbine especially since the buff is beastly. Take a lemat pistol and put a slug in it and boom, don't even need QM and you've spent like under $250. This gun is just not worth it.
The Uppermat is even more not worth it's price, idk what they were thinking.

It’s very fun and satisfying but the 500 dollar price tag is confusing
it is way too expensive. Idk what they were thinking making it that much. it doesn't really matter if you have 300+ hours and like 100k but still is it really as good as the meta long ammo guns or slate with slugs?
@@Bread_Gatorhonestly, it's on par with the top tier guns in the game. Especially with dumdum, it puts so much pressure on the opposing team, and is obscenely versatile at nearly all ranges. I'd take it over a berthier or krag.
@@BlobsterX I just wish the shotgun was good for that price, every under barreled shotgun in the game shoots like a sad handful of gravel, thought this one would be different since the long barrel, but seems to be no better than a shot from a rival.

@@clownworld4655 it's more expensive than a mosin, while not being nearly as good. The drilling needs special ammo to perform as well. It should be ~380 making it ~420 with bleed or fmj. It's good mind you,j just not 510 good

The Drilling is the best addition this new patch has brought to Hunt. I could not care less about the Gatorboss or Rain. But Drilling is just great!
$510 for this and $440 for the 120 damage two-slot uppermat are both so not worth it.
What sucks is we'll have to wait like, MONTHS before the devs realise this themselves and finally reduce the cost on them.
510 kinda makes sense on the account fast af accurate rifle, and an almost romero ass length barrel (altho, its medium ammo, buff medium or reduce the price to like 375)

@@McSlabbers because the uppermat is a medium slot weapon. With that price tag i don't see a reason why i should take the uppermat over the mosin Obrez, wich cost somewhere around 300.

@@johnswift6541 It's almost the exact same fire rate as a centennial but only two shots, lower damage, slower velocity, twice as inaccurate hip fire when compared to a centennial- a $157 gun mind you.
The shotgun is also way more unreliable than even a romero handcannon much of the time.
The reload is very long, having to press X and wait even longer than lemat carbine to change firing modes, only to do another long reload is excruciating.
So I don't think $510 makes sense at all currently. You can have much more in your kit for much lower cost.
The Drilling is fun don't get me wrong, but the price is too much for what it brings.
I guarantee you'll see a price reduction on it in the future. That or some buffs to it to make it worth the price, one or the other.
it amazes me tbh what u can do with this gun. YOU in particular, hornet. because every other player I see ingame with this gun, the moment I hear them shoot it I just know ''ok they got the 0 damage gun ez'' cuz istg the amount of times I've been bodyshot from like 20-30metres and it's done 30damage to me is absurd lmao. idk how u manage to 2tap with it at all
They're probably shooting you in the arm. Ive been dropping people with it.
Can't wait to try it, but with this rate I'm gonna unlock it in more than week :D (weekly challenges done as the best source of points)

dum dum on drilling actually gives it the edge of 5 more damage it needs to a delayed one hit kill on downed hunters, that's giga-brain

I wonder if fmj has a place on this weapon ? Given sheer pressure done with the dumdums and the fact that you can easily pair the gun with some revolvers that have wall piercing capabilities (new army fmj, pax fmj, upper, etc) i really wonder.
Maybe if you plan on using the gun at a further distance and that you have a short range weapon like shotty or bow or anything that you want to use up close but even then i find this dubious.
Who knows maybe someone will come up with a Fmj/flechette combo that can be fun to use.

is there an easy way to level up or i guess grind the pass? because me seeing this weapon at level 20 makes me feel like i just won’t get it until the event ends. I feel like i never make it past level 10 in any of the passes
there's only one Pass, and you have to do missions for it! there's challenges you can complete that reward event points, ever 5 days you have to do them again, they should net you an easy 6-10 Levels per 5 days :)

I just did the weekly quests, there's still 2days on them, and am at lvl 10. Just literally do the weeklies and get the dark tribute 8k xp goal daily. not that hard...

I just found out that they made the Romero Alamo's reload WAAAAY slower and was super bummed
They didn't make it slower, they just changed the animation so it would be more clear when you'd be able to swap weapons without having to rechamber again.

He's a content creator, so he either bought the bundle for the pass (wich makes you start at lvl 20, hence you have the drilling unlocked) or he's already pretty far into it just by playing a lot, y'know, between normal play, streaming and gathering clips for YT

Not necessarily, no. There are all kinds of 3 barreled breakaction guns. Some with 2 rifled barrels, some with smoothbore barrels choked for different kinds of shot, some even have the singular barrel on top and the doubles below. Drilling only means 3 barrels, doesnt tell you what configuration they are in (eventhough 2 shotgun + 1 rifle are the most common variant)

one tip that some players using drilling forget is to use the slug for close range, because why gamble with the normal 120 dmg when u can kill them with 1 slug, afterall u do have that extra shotgun underbarrel for a reason

510 is nuts.. No one tap potential to someone missing 25 like Vetterli or Springfield and the shotgun with buckshot is shit.. seriously. Go try it out on range and compare to it other shoties out there when you get the chance. This either needs buff to deserve it's price tag, or leave it as is and put it somewhere between 300-400. How the devs figured this should cost more than ever the meta mosin is beyond me.
Not to just hate on the gun.. it is pretty fucking fun to play to be honest and the kills with it are very satisfying. I love it... just wish it had at least Romero kind of shotgun or be cheaper.
What would you think about a swift version where it would auto eject any unspent amo but shorted reload times?

and the shotgun part is just shy of being a full size romero.
the single only thing holding this thing back is the fact that it deals 120 and not 125.
and its poor reload speed.
the fact that it does only 120 is already EXTREMELY mitigated by the bleed ammo, which is death in seconds or having to stand still for some time.
only to get blasted by a shotgun shell, or secondary.
possibly losing a singular shot in a reload by choice and getting rid of its singular weakness. is just asking for a large buff to an already rly powerfull gun

510$ sounds about right. the time to kill is almost as fast as the auto! the gun should not be cheap
@@kingkracker1998 Naw, it's still too much. 2 medium ammo shots and an unreliable under barrel unless it has slugs; looooong reload time as well. If the underbarrel was more reliable, or the ammo was long ammo than sure, yeah. It's not though.
The uppermat is overpriced in hunter dollars also.
I can almost guarantee that whenever the next major update comes after the event, you'll see a price reduction in these guns.

@@kingkracker1998 you can double tap with nagant carabine, new army, nagant officer, dolch, rival slugs if more than 15m, all double pistols expect the bornheim, any winfield with levering. All of them are under $300 except the dolch. I think between 400 and 450 dollars is a fair price. The ultimate gun, the mosin is cheaper than the drilling. And the best double tapper, the new army with fmj is just $140
Edit: forgot to mention the scottfield spitfire with fmj rounds. That thing can double tap at 50m if I remember right and is about $160
@PlayMoL1 none of those guns can shoot as fast as the drilling. this is what I'm talking about with time to kill. look it up! that's a real stat and most would say the most important stat. time to kill. so the guns on that list 5hat can shoot that fast cost 600$ and up. time to kill not how many shots it takes to kill. carbin is almost always a 3 tap. also the new army any compact. ALSO they can't shoot 2 bullets in under a second. time to kill. how long dose it take to shot 2 body shots. 2 different things. so time to kill is on par with the auto! how much is the auto? the dilch is comparable too, 750$ for the dolch. see my point now?
PS I love the spitfire Scott field, dosnt shot as fast tho. nor dose it have a sfull length shotgun barrel nor dose it have the range. not really comparable

One thing I don’t get is that the real M30 Drilling had two shotgun barrels and one rifle barrel, whereas the one in game is the other way around. Anyone know why they did this?
Usability most likely. In game shotguns one tap rifles 2 tap. Not accounting for headshots
It would have just been the rival shotgun with one bullet, I think how they did it with two bullets and one shotgun is more unique n fun

Because rifle sights and shotgun sights are different. Real drillings often have sights that pop up/go down when the toggle is switched.

Edit: Ah okay, as far as I get it, the rear sight for the rifle mode is calibrated to 100m irl. So it makes sense to take it down for closer ranges
@@dem4xed That's not it. Shotgun shooting is usually much more dynamic and requires less precision than rifle shooting, so there is usually no rear sight as to have as much field of view as possible. Imagine quickly turning like 180 degrees to aim at and shoot a flying duck or a running rabbit, for instance.
@@frajecz Yes, you are right. Not putting it there on shotguns in the first place is one thing. Having the option to take it down for less distraction is also very understandable. But who on the earth would take down the rear sight to shoot a slug for example? Allways flipping it automatically down seems a bit extreme for me, especially when it comes to fast shooting. I highly doubt that hunts flipping animation would be faster than just to ignore the rear sight.
