DAMN! I finally made it and was able to upload that video. If you follow my community posts, you know I struggled big time with the render of that video. Finally made it happen but had to sacrifice the 4k. Hope you will find the video useful my friends, thanks for your patience and help for those who gave me tips on how to solve my rendering problems. CHEERS!!! P.S. Links to my favourite bartools in the show notes. Have a good one!
This is a great breakdown on the tools of the trade. For home use and professional use. Especially the reasoning on why you prefer to use a specific tool versus just using a tool that you might buy off the shelf. Great tips for everyone.
10:15 I often use the muddler to make levelled cocktails : i add syrup first (for example hibiscus) and i pour, on the twisted side of my spoon (turned, muddler side oriented to the bottom of the glass) the rest of the cocktail (a mix of of grapefruit, gin and lime juice) and finally tonic (still pour on the twisted part). The flat part of the muddler stops the fall of the liquid and i get better results for my layered cocktails. Thks for the video !!
OXO makes a cobbler shaker with a rubber gasket that prevents the shaker from siezung up. Great for home use. Yes I know the other model is more professional
Glad you finally got the video rendered. I never get sick of watching these types of videos, even though I've watched plenty and own everything aside from a mixing glass
I saw Japanese bartenders using the fork side of the barspoon for poking on cut citrus. You poke it in the citrus and squeeze with the fork in, straight in to the glass.
I do appreciate you talking me into getting a Smoke top with your short. I am loving it so far. Smokes a cocktail in like 2 seconds and looks amazing while doing it.
Hey Chris! I’m so glad you like it. Even though the contrary would have surprised me, it’s always a little tricky to recommend something. Thanks for the feedback
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks I had seen other people recommending it both on UA-cam and friends on cocktail chats. The beautiful way you filmed it was just the last nail in the coffin. Lol
The glass cobbler shaker does look fantastic. Makes your videos more beautiful. The trident on the barspoon is to spear anyone who asks you to make a vodka martini
This by far is the best video on Bar Tools I have seen so far. Regarding the bar-spoons, indeed it is a personal approach, but for me the spoon length is determined by the height of your mixing glass, more than any other thing. But I guess having a couple bar spoons is a better options. :@) I often use the muddling part of the spoon for layering shots or other drinks - works better for me compared to the spoon side. Amazing video. Glad it is finally ready and out. Cheers!
10:15 I didn't know that this end was called a muddler end, and i'm not really into putting force on a bar spoon to muddle things. I use this end to do layered drinks like B52.
Great video! Maybe next time you can do some videos on tips and pointers on how to use them or some cocktail mixing skills/techniques? May or may not be too detailed but might be helpful for really new home bartenders
Thank you so much for this video (and many others on this channel!). As a new 21 yr old, this is so helpful and things which no one ever told me about. Esp in this pandemic, I am soo not comfortable going out to get a drink so this is so useful!!! Much appriciated!
