Fantastic video sir I live in India mumbai After watching this video I started looking for this amazing plant luckily I got this plant from nearby nursery . Plant was grown in a pot with red garden soil and it's been doing v well till date. My Querrey is that which potting media will works well for this amazing plant? Some info suggest orchid media. But my plant is also doing well in garden soil. Mumbai's climate is pretty hot and humid sir. What would u suggest?
This fern needs wet & humid climate, and grows very well in the monsoon season in Mumbai. Best to grow as undergrowth. My Garden is covered with Peacock Fern.
I know this is an old video but any chance on getting any names for those iridescent leafed orchids? Im an orchid grower and Im fascinated by iridescent leaves. I currently own the Microsorum thailandicum and I must say its AMAZING in person, pictures dont make it justice. Bonus thing is their spores are actually metallic gold under sunshine. When mine started shedding spores the leaves underneath had a layer of golden dust on them, lovely!
I just acquired a Microsorum thailandicum. I live in the northern U.S. and wish to increase the temperature to the recommended 77-95°F. I'm considering elevating the plant inside a fish tank or terrarium, with a moist heating pad in the bottom of the tank. Do you have any advice you can share?
It seems bucephalandra have this iridescent quality also. Bucephalandra are a small type of arium with white flowers. They grow emersed/underwater and found around riparian settings. Buce' shimmer and even have flecks/spots that make it look like it has glitter. Being found around water and sometimes in a shade would really make sense for their iridescent adaptation.
I have been looking for this plant for quite some time! I had one a few years ago, but I lost it. Do you have any idea where I can find another one, or at least a cutting?
What is the name of that big blue plant?. I just know that blue leaved plant is real and mr. Steward just inform us how they can get their leave and need it to be blue
Isso tudo e planta africana, sao tudo original do deserto da africa, mas agente encontra algums no brassil porque os eropeus levarao planta africa pa todo lado hahaha
have you come across a plant such as i'm about to describe. like the plant in the clip below, it 'lights up' in sunlight and creates an effect similar to the effect of sunlight reflecting off moving water, causing it to sparkle. having thought about it, i've realized the shrub must have the following: Very shiny/glossy leaves thin supple stems that sway and move in the slightest breeze small curvy shaped leaves (off of which light will bounce in many different directions) a light coloured leaf (white, pale yellow, pale green, pale blue etc) ua-cam.com/video/fR-wRKAodEY/v-deo.html
What about Pollia condesata from Africa? You, biologists, always have problems to show African rainforests' riches and uniqueness. When you want to show some colorful bird or frog you go to Amazon rainforest. When you want to show big butterfly or flower you go to South East Asia or New Guinea. You never show something like that in Africa. Could you ensure viewers that there is nothing like that in Africa as you don't travel there? PS. I can list a couple of African incredible plants from different bioms: - Pollia condesata - rainforest plant with the most colorful fruits - miracle fruit (Synsepalum dulcificum) - rainforest fruit changing sour taste into sweet - Hydnora africana - succulent which is the strangest plant species looking like fungi - marula (Sclerocarya birrea) - tree which crops the highest amount (1000 kg) of fruits in one season - Raphia regalis - tropical forest palm which has the biggest leaves of all plants. - Lodoicea maldivica - palm from Seychelles which yields the biggest nut weighing even 30 kg.

@@Appleton-WI late yet again, but a terrarium or other tank with a plastic container of water and an aquarium heater in the water works well.

Which plant?
Some time has passed now, are the iridescent orchids named by now?
I've heard some insects are attracted to blue; maybe they developed it to attract their pollinator
cool
I missed buchefelandra, that's probably the easiest plants to grow with Bright iridescent leaves.
What is the name of that big blue plant?. I just know that blue leaved plant is real and mr. Steward just inform us how they can get their leave and need it to be blue
