Playing for a "top team" means he will be "constricted" to tactics more than techniques or skills. He has already been to the PL (southampton) in which he played for a good year, sat most of the second year and then spent the rest of his contract loaned in other clubs outside of england. If you remember Adil Taarabt (shined greatly and mostly with QPR), had a great potential back in the days and ended up wasting it between bad discipline, bad decisions and bad coaching (or with Benarfa for that matter)
These players loooove to play for the crowd and for the love of the game even at the expense of one or two games. They require special kind of coaching or they can easily settle for a mid-table kinna of club or even a lesser than a premiere or super league type of competition just so they can have at it.
