  • 3 Most Secret Cars! You Won't Believe Exists!
The fascinating stories of some of the most unique and groundbreaking vehicles that were ahead of their time but never made it to the mainstream.
First up, the 1957 Aurora Safety Car, a visionary project led by Father Alfred Juliano, a Catholic priest with a passion for car design. Juliano aimed to create the safest car in the world, loaded with innovative safety features like seat belts, a roll cage, a padded dashboard, and a collapsible steering column. Despite its forward-thinking design, the Aurora faced numerous challenges, from financial struggles to harsh criticism for its unconventional look, ultimately leading to its downfall. Yet, its legacy lives on, showcasing early efforts in automotive safety.
Next, we explore the Dome Zero, a striking sports car prototype from Japan. Unveiled at the 1978 Geneva Motor Show, it was the brainchild of Minoru Hayashi, who dreamed of building a world-class sports car. With its futuristic wedge-shaped design and Nissan's 2.8-liter straight-six engine, the Dome Zero turned heads but faced insurmountable hurdles in getting road-certified. Though it never saw full production, the Dome Zero's bold design and ambitious vision left a lasting impact on car culture.
Lastly, we delve into the Pininfarina X, a 1960 concept car designed by the renowned Italian company Pininfarina in collaboration with Professor Alberto Morelli. With its teardrop shape and rhomboid wheel layout, the Pininfarina X was all about aerodynamics, boasting an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.23. Despite its innovative design, the Pininfarina X never went into production, but it remains a significant piece of automotive history.

That sad preacher who built the Aurora should have invested the money instead on having his sanity examined.

You obviously don’t know anything about automotive history. FIAT designed and built some of the most influential cars in history. Their only problem was that they had really shitty quality control because of the unions always striking. And the fact that their factories were set up in a way that raw bodies would have to be moved from one building to another to get painted, exposing the metal to the elements and leading to rust.

The money I put in when the basket was passed around a mass every Sunday was used to build that horrendous thing????? I've done a terrible thing, but I can't go to confession 'cuz ya can't trust a priest. I"ll deserve it if St. Peter won't let me in.

The fact that they were backwards in an accident would actually be a benefit because you're not going to be thrown from the seat but the speed at which it would have to swivel would literally make your head spin.

The fact that the car had a roll cage would not allow it to be built because it could not pass the cafe standards for fuel mileage that the EPA required. The irony is it would have to be made less safe with more plastic and tin to make it pass. If cars were allowed to be built with a roll cage like NASCAR, it is likely most people would survive an 80 mph impact. Which by the way is most of the top freeway speeds.
