Crandall is such a go-getter! He gets things done. He could’ve edited out his mistake, but he owned it. He has a great attitude and will accomplish a lot in his life. This family is so sweet….be nice and don’t discourage!
Why are you people saying this...he is awesome at what he does You dont know him very well obviously...cant say your any good at everything if you dont have something nice to say dont say anything...hes alot better than you for sure. Hard worker, not by any means lazy raising 3 children and made his house! Kudos to him and Marcie! 🤗☺️💗
The gate looks great. It’s a good thing you have such a good positive attitude. A lot of people can’t take their failures and then throwing up their hands in despair, and they don’t finish it. The fact that you can keep such a good attitude is a feather in your cap.
Don't be to hard on yourself Crandall. I don't know of a single person who hasn't made a mastake. You'll get it, and it will be awesome. The gates look Great. Congratulations on getting three deer this year. Your a good provider Crandall. Reminds me of my dad when we were all kids. There were five of us, Dad always hunted and he was a great shot. Plus got a couple cows to rasie for meat. We never lacked for much, even in the hard times. Us five kids were in charge of making sure our aloted amount of garden rows were always weeded and ready for dad to water. We complained but looking back it was a wonderful childhood and we all learned worked together. I'm now 70 yrs and those were precious times. Can't wait to see your projects. You are a hard worker and a wonderful Husband and Father. You and Marci are great together. Love Watching Your Videos... GOD BLESS YOU, Family and Farm. ❤🙏
Nice job on the entryway gates. When you move the pole, be sure to cement it in. Those gates are heavy & they'll pull the poles right over. Summer's coming &you'll he able to spend more time outdoors. For right now, sit back & enjoy a little quality time with your family.
I love your new gate and the widder enterance will look even more fablous. Great job and your moving the one side will work out just perfectly. Great job.
weld angles on the back of the post and hinge your gate from the angles (weld angle post) and let it open in towards the house, instead of cutting or removing the tall pole..
When you're ready to hang your gates cement the tall posts into the ground before the weight of the gates makes them lean and wobble. You must cement those two tall posts into the ground before hanging a heavy gate on it.
I think it is good that there was a mismeasurement so that you can get the pole you are moving cemented in! I love your attitude over the mistake. Yes everything happens for a reason!! Basically the gates look great! 🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
Crandell, the gate does look fantastic. However, this is how we all learn. It is by the mistakes we make! You are just honest enough to always admit it😉. Keep forging ahead, building your skills😊🙏🏼.
OOOPPPPS! Bummer Crandall. Can't say that I haven't made mistakes like that before, it happens. Plus side is that it's going to be so beautiful and you have a chance to make the one side line up better too! Texas Deb ❤️
It turned out good and I'm sure you'll find a solution on the measurements. Make sure you give yourself enough ground clearance at the bottom so it will open even when there's many inches of snow on the ground like last week...
I have a question wouldn’t it be better to have the poles in concrete to hold those gates up … and why can’t you hinge them from the back of the poles where the gate swings towards the house ??? And why didn’t you put baseboards down before putting in the hot water heater and move the stuff on the floor before cleaning the floor ???
I was cringing as I watched that junk being left on the floor during the cleaning, and then the installing of the water heater. Yes to the baseboards, too. Doing things in such a sloppy and careless manner is a poor example to the children and to those watching the channel. It is not like he has to finish in order to get to his job. He doesn't have a job except this channel, and doing the work on the property. So, might as well do it right the first time. Working hard and working smart are not always the same thing.
Measure twice, cut once. Is the rule when messing with wood, metal & tiles dad always said. Plus if you can shake them poles that easy, it has issues. They should have been concreted in. Build to last, not build to repair.

The gate looks great. You are so talented and a hard worker. Those bigger blocks you needed, you should have asked someone who works there. Usually they have another pallet from above they can bring down for you. Just an fyi. ❤
Where I live Crandall, we are allowed 1 bag of trash every two weeks. We have containers for plastic/cans and such, 1 container for paper/cardboard, and a small compost container. Any of the 3 'recycle' containers are unlimited, put out as much as you need. If you have diapers, you have to register with the city to allow for extra bag pick up. Otherwise an extra bag needs a 2.50 tag put on it from a store, or they will leave it. If you accidentally put something in the wrong container, they leave you a 'friendly reminder' note lol, and you have to wait until next week. It's crazy, I know, but it's amazing the things that you can get used to.
This is why you need a farming plan. Long term & short term jobs, that need doing ASAP. Each job, you do you own plans, measuring things twice, if not more plus risk assessment. In the risk assessment a list of tools and equipment required. If you live that far out of town like us. One bolt can throw your whole day away. Once the risk assessment is done, you put things in place so no one can get injured. Either way, you always & I mean always, have a farm first aid kit right near you at all times. So many farmers lose their life to chainsaws, grinders, heavy earth moving equipment. Most could be prevented after investigating most. Some bleed out before help or they get to a first aid kit. Never rely on phones. The other person may not pick up or have their phone on silent. It takes a few minutes to do a risk assessment & plans. Those minutes could save your life. Welding etc, always wear a respirator & not a mask. Same when mixing farming chemicals. Don’t have children around, when doing dangerous jobs, like cutting metal etc. confined spaces, working from heights you add further protection. Never trim limbs off trees if you don’t have stand by person, same as confined spaces. UHF radio’s are a big thing in Australia on farms. There’s always a truck driver or farmer talking on channel 40. Take away your eyes by blind folding yourself & try make a call to even Marcie phone, when your phone is locked. You’re on a farm now, Farmer. Racing around in a 4x4 in the snow is fun, until it’s not. Yes, I am having a chip at you dude. The kids need you around. One little mistake, one little jail cell to go with it. If you seriously injure someone else paddy bashing, as we call it.
The gate will be awesome when hung. The entryway is a bit out of alignment. Getting that taken care of and cementing in the supporting posts will be worth the effort to have it done right! 💖💖💖
What a bummer! I think it’s a blessing in disguise, though. I would sure like to see you concrete in both of those posts. With the added weight and extra vibration all of the time (of the gate opening/closing), I’m pretty sure they’ll move and eventually fall over if just stuck into the dirt. Please also research the needed depth and circumference of the hole you are digging before pouring the concrete. I believe there are some calculations to determine depth and circumference of the hole depending on post height and weight, etc. I would not risk just eyeballing it and leaving one in dirt. It will take more time and I know you want it done, but I think it will save a lot of heartbreak and rework in the end. So, think of this as a blessing and God looking out for you - kinda like the story Marci told us about the son with a disability not being killed in a war.

@@jerrilynhenson9024 Exactly! Well said! Yes they are questioning their spending on this video. They are questioning why they aren't fixing their roof first. To them I say "none of your business!"
@ as an 80 years old great grandmother, they do things differently than I would. But I’m choosing to watch them, not dictate how they spend. And if it were to frustrate me that bad, I could choose not to watch. I do feel sorry for Marci when she explains all she’s doing and why. There’s another person I watch occasionally that I was appalled to learn she’s letting her dog off a chain because her followers demand she do so. The dog is a roamer and can’t be stopped any other way. When the dog ends up being hit by a car, you can imagine what those same people will say. It’s not necessarily a matter of training. But the followers know best. 🤦♀️🤦♀️. The dog isn’t a house pet. There’s a reason she’s outside. She’s in a fenced area, but one of those determined to roam.
I hope you listen to the comments and suggestions: More experienced people could teach you a lot if you keep an open mind. You may be putting your children, your wife, and yourself in serious danger. Please get an expert to advise you regarding that project. It looks way beyond sketchy. Just because you learned things on a mission trip, that does not give you the skills of someone with college degrees in the subject matter would have. I hope you are up to date on your family health insurance.
@@elizabethblackwell1200 It is that kind of thinking that gets people injured and worse. No he CANNOT do ANYTHING and NOT 'most of the time better'.... There are professionals who spent years in college to learn how to do those things safely, and in a manner that will be permanent, stable, and secure. It takes calculus and algebra and a whole lot of engineering concepts that he has never learned, since he never went to college. Information learned from other 'handymen' is fine for everyday projects, but when you are investing that much money and time, and putting people in that much danger, you don't just pull these actions out of your a**. The most dangerous person is an amateur who thinks he has the skills of a professional. The second most dangerous person is someone who tells the amateur that he can do anything, and does it better than anyone. So stop. Just stop. I've watched them since day one on their channel. I saw them almost burn the house down with the kids inside due to carelessness. And dangerous mistake after dangerous mistake. Please encourage him to get professional help. He makes plenty from the channel and his dad is wealthy, so it is not worth risking the health and welfare of the family to save money.

Question if you move the pole out for the gates then doesn’t that make your top wider too Is your top beam gonna fit?
Are the gates going to open into the yard or open towards the road? Best to figure out the measurements before you move the poles.
Can you mount the gate on the outside of the swing?
Can you dig next to it and slide the pole where you need it???🤔🤔🤔
Whether you move the pole or not....I would think that you have to cement it in for it to hold those heavy gates and not sag over time.
Good morning
Looks like you have warm weather and rest of the country is freezing.
You can just add new posts to hang the gate cemented in real well the height of the gate
Well, I think before you put that back in the ground, after you move, you may want to make it more if you're going to have that heavy gate on there.

But the followers know best. 🤦♀️🤦♀️. The dog isn’t a house pet. There’s a reason she’s outside. She’s in a fenced area, but one of those determined to roam.
Them gates are a waste of money the front is not going to stop people coming in
I hope you listen to the comments and suggestions: More experienced people could teach you a lot if you keep an open mind.
But he’s a jack of all trades and he can do anything and most the time even better… it’s a wake-up call! SMH
If your trash is coming that day, why can't you just pile it beyond the trash can with the lid open, and then hopefully that works??
