I only know this show from a daily show segment Steve Carell did about it way back in the summer of 2000. He said something like, "if you're shirtless, and you love coke, than this is teh show for you!"
I never heard of it, but this was also around the time I completely ignored TV and spent more time working on my career, and my limited free time went to video games.
Wow, this actually settles a joke. Grosse Pointe (another WB show) had a joke where the characters on the show within a show run along the lake to that song. Now I get it! Lol
Young Americans was considered a semi-spinoff of Dawson's Creek. WB's teen dramas were at the height of their popularity at the time. I don't think the audience could take another WB teen drama.
It's great seeing new episodes, my man, but why does this one only appear on your UA-cam Channel? It didn't appear in my list of subscribed videos and I recieved no notification. Just letting you know in case something's up. Again, fun video.
I'd forgotten about this show, and that dumb trope of a gay relationship that isn't actually gay. I loved WB shows back then, but somehow I couldn't work up any interest at all in this one. I didn't even make it through one episode before getting bored and changing the channel. There was just absolutely nothing distinctive about it!

Welcome back!
Here, here.

A couple of other short lived summer teen series that year were M.Y.O.B and Go Fish
Go Fish aired in the summer of 2001.
Jesus in Heaven, that show was WILD. Nicely done, per usual.

It’s supposed to be unlisted until Friday so Patreon supporters can have an advance peek.
@@PabSungenis Oh, sorry. It appeared on my general recommendations. Should I delete the comment and wait for Friday?
Nah. Glad you enjoyed it anyhow.
I didn't think it was a horrible show, but I confess the only reason I watched it was to see Scout take his shirt off over and over.
Why do all these teen dramas look like they're populated by people who are on the cusp of turning 30?
It's not a "13-week" mention (still critical trash). Kate Bosworth is also notorious as Lois Lane in Superman Returns.
